Androgynous is often said to mean gender mixing (but not always). So having feminine and masculine fashion. This is not what they are doing, so a better word would be genderless. (Or non-binary fashion, like they do) So genderless/non-binary is actually a less confusing term

Memeめめ People think that people are people, till you start slapping weird labels onto them, if I see men and woman together or men and men or woman and woman, I think "people" but when it's people who are non binary or whatever one of the apparent 70 genders there are, they make SURE to stand out and let everyone know that they're not just anyone but they're non binary. Non binary people are people too, people who generally want special attention for being different. It's rediculous. If someone wants to call themselves a non binary I'm not going to stop them or judge them, I don't care, but saying that I'm not going to use their rediculous pronouns because I think they need help. You wouldn't agree with someone with schizophrenia that microwave is talking to them or that the CIA are after them, so why why do the same to someone with gender dysphoria?
@joshsmith78126 жыл бұрын
@Dave Strider No there isn't 70 genders but according to New York there is. They/them is an absurd pronoun. I'm not saying that trans people just want attention I'm saying that these non/binary "Did you just assume my gender?" People are rediculous.
@joshsmith78126 жыл бұрын
@Dave Strider If you're happy, then cool. I'm not going to treat you different than I'd treat any other person, I'm speaking about the stereotypical SJW. Because most of those people are like that. Personally I believe Non binary is made up, but that's just me, if you're happy with what you identify as I won't try change that :) again that's just my opinion, I'm not saying other people aren't entitled to an opinion either. Most people who are non binary or identify as something like a demiboy as an example get super triggered by everything and think the whole world is out to opress them because they're different.
@CLEVERstageNAMES6 жыл бұрын
@@joshsmith7812 I'm nonbinary, but I don't really give a fuck about labels or pronouns. They are just words, but they do help some people a lot, and I respect that. I'm who I am and I don't need to shout about it to feel validated, but you need to understand that some people who have been struggling for a long time really need those words and terms to help understand themselves. And they need to speak up simply because most people don't know they exist and therefore don't know what simple things could be done for them to exist in peace. I'm 100% sure every nonbinary person would love to shut up about it, if even the majority of other people were just cool with their existence.

I identify as a loli
@rustyworld23656 жыл бұрын
@@SurfingBOceanNesto22 gender is a social role, a series of performances. How you are perceived by others and how you act is about the height of it. For example if you were referred to as the opposite sex, acted like it, felt like it and lived as it then your biological sex doesn't mean much, especially considering that the concept of gender existed long before chromosomes were even discovered and most people who transition alter their genitals and secondary sex characteristics. Saying you identified as something ridiculous means nothing, you can't live as a "loli" or an inanimate object because there is no type of dysphoria linking to it, it's not a social role and as a result it's not something you will be perceived as by society. So when people say gender is a social construct what they mean is it's a performance or an aesthetic that influences how society sees you. Also I know you were joking but I'm bored and I like youtube fights.

Fashion is a way of expression and it is totally free for us to decide what we want to look like. There was a time when I was cooped up in the idea of gender stereotype and struggling to look like every other man. I am glad that more and more people are becoming open about the non-binary look. However, it is also true that society is not fully accepting it. For example, in some high schools, students are still forced to wear certain types of uniform depending on whether they are biologically male or female. True beauty shouldn't be affected by our gender and sex. Although I am not a huge influencer, I speak about it to share my message. Men and woman have different body shape therefore fashion can never be completely non-binary. Also that's boring.
@danielbento27796 жыл бұрын
I think fashion becomes more boring when it's completely binary. For example, when we see every guy wearing the same thing to every event. That is boring. People should experiment an explore through the gender spectrum.
@CLEVERstageNAMES6 жыл бұрын
Hi! I understand where you are coming from. I also once thought it would be boring if there was no more super girly pink clothes with high heels, and gorgeus scruff men with suits. But then I realized getting rid of the gender binary doesn't mean that in the least! It just means anyone can dress as traditionally feminine or masculine as they want, regardless of what kind of body parts they were born with! Or mix things up completely. It's the opposite of boring~ Also, women and men have completely different body shapes amongst themselves! A really skinny man would propably fit into all of the women's high fashion from a traditional runway a million times better than an avarage woman. High fashion has never truly accommodated any body shapes accept for the 6 ft tall stick skinny curve-less body type, wich ironically is extremely androgynous.
@tris4216 жыл бұрын
But this is just for the sake of it. I mean if you design a crop top that actually fits a man that's fine. There will certainly always be a place for that. But it is kinda lazy and you are simply fitting round pegs in to square holes just to be reactionary. I'm not necessarily opposed to it I just don't think it's all so creative. If it became the norm it would not be so exciting anymore.
@ClioMako6 жыл бұрын
I completely agree. However, while I think men in suits and women in miniskirts and high-heels is a beyond boring sight, seeing the opposite of it become the norm can also be boring. Also, due to the different body shapes of women and men, some clothing options are not bound to look good and be the same practical on both sexes.
@wooshDX6 жыл бұрын
well if you're a fashion designer you always have the persons body type in mind, So these designers aren't throwing dresses that would fit a females body onto males but rather using traditional mens and womens clothing to fit the body type of the opposite gender. For example, women weren't allowed to wear trousers but as it became acceptable it was then tailored to fit women. So in some sense its still binary but non-binary. Another example, skinny jeans, was a fashion that comes and goes for men, in the early 2000s you couldn't find skinny jeans for guys anywhere now they're in every retail store.

from the wise words of Sasha Velour "gender is a construct tear it apart". I love the fact that clothing is becoming more non-binary and love seeing people express themselves. I follow fashion streetwear pages on Facebook and Instagram and love to see men wearing nail polish, Heeled boots, lace t-shirt its different and interesting. Women have been walking over to the men's section and buying clothes for the men's section for years and I feel it would be nice to see men doing the same thing with the women section and maybe not even having women's or men's section at all. I saw a comment about body types of males and females being different and I do understand that so we just need to cater more for the body types.

Tomar Dixon i doubt this does anything good. I for example don't give a shit about how other people dress/act, regardless of their gender. But if you start calling yourself an unicorn(aka gender fluid or whatever is trending this days) I'm not really going to accept this. To me inveting new genders instead of focusing on the real ones,male female, is just strengthening further the sterotipes, regarding females or males. Now you cant be a woman dressing a certain way, more masculine, if you will, because you have to be gender nonbinery or some other bullshit.
@romilee986 жыл бұрын
AlleAlexandra it's not inventing a gender. There are different variations of people being gender fluid for thousands of years in a lot of cultures. A quick Google search and you will find that out. For you to be so ignorant and believe that just because you identify as the gender you where born too that there are only male and female is incredibly childish because all it shows me and others is that your not willing to do any research debunks there being only two genders, there are not even two types and genitals so why would there only be two genders. we are not all XX and XY some are XXY and XXX so I feel you should really explore and researched genders ans such before you make an uneducated guess based of your own experience

Non binary goes as deep as fashion and that's it 🤷🏽♀️ dressing in unisex clothing doesn't mean you have no gender 🤪

the idea itself is nice, but it would be nice if different styles would be represented that are non binary.

These styles can not exist bcz your label doesn't exist

@@SurfingBOceanNesto22 these styles exist, they just don't look as weird, in essence "non binary clothing" is just a mix of feminine and masculine trades. It's like unisex clothing. And the label does exists, you can argue that it is stupid, but you cannot say that it doesn't exist

@@katjaheilingbrunner2651 Gender is the state of being male or female. Therefore, non binary does not exist
@katjaheilingbrunner26516 жыл бұрын
@@SurfingBOceanNesto22 what you mean is biological sexes. But besides there are also people who are intersex, which is not something that you define yourself as, but actual physical trades, you might look that up. I think you just might be quite unconfortable with non binary and everything, but maybe you can try to inform yourself about these topics if they bother you and maybe, when you are more educated about these topics, you might understand it a bit. Or maybe you just shouldn't care about it at all.

@@katjaheilingbrunner2651 Gender is the state of being male or female as said on the Wiki & biology. It is tied to hormones & genes. Purely biological. If you think or dress like the opposite gender or smth else imaginary, you're not that
