Yes, that mother in law is a bit overbearing. Just the way she took care of Lawu during pregnancy was like someone protecting an investment. Now that they got the baby, we'll see how the dynamic between them is going to develop in the house. I Lawu's mom may be resentful of the fact that her daughter was given away without proper African proceeding. I may be wrong but I think Xiao Liu's family needs to consider revisiting the marriage chapter to ensure that Lawu's culture is taken into account before the mother returns to Tanzania.
