I randomly picked this up at Walmart because it was 3.99$. I went in not knowing specifics, but knew it was controversial. I really enjoyed it. I’m writing this and I just heard “I’m not a cryer”; true, and same - this game hit me on a way most games have not.

Worth it.Yes I know we were being treated like primary school pizza party with that tiny slice in story part but this game was very relaxing and relatable to some of us. I was satisfied with the based game but turn out annoyed with the DLCs and Royal expansion because the DLCs wasn't necessary at all and Royal expansion was too pricey for the little content they offer.I was hoping for expansion similar to Witcher 3 but no it wasnt🙃🙃.For new player maybe it was worth if they get a discount price these day.

you missed the fact you can unlock the ability to swap between any of the 4 guys and each have their own play style i mean run and gun prompto!

This is my favorite Final Fantasy game and got me to go back to the series for the first time since the PS1. I didn’t pay any attention to the game or series until like a month before launch, but I played a demo and enjoyed it enough to watch the movie and animated series. I played through the game a few times and it is easy enough that mainly pressing attack works, but if you learn your weapon combos you can really speed up combat, staggering enemies faster, and attacking with more damage. Everything about the game just hit perfectly for me and I was surprised after beating it that so many people didn’t like it at launch. I understand the extra content can be a sore point for people but I thought it was all great for world building and it really made me want more from the world.

5:20 not true. There’s actually combos for all weapons. Greatswords: All good, the up+O is a little more complicated but it's ultimately useless depth. Swords: Up+O: Stab attack. better damage/forward momentum, resets blitz chain. Side+O: Sidestep and slash twice. release and re push stick to make Noctis jump into air. Down+O: Just wanna say that this has I-frames. Polearms: Up+O: The lunge is not a part of this combo. It's one of the two aerial attacks that polearms have. The jump just puts you in perfect position to trigger it. Try it against bigger foes and Noct wont do the lunge. Side+O: If you release the left stock before ending the combo, Noct will do a 4th attack, stab. If you keep holding, he'll jump into air and begin aerial combo. Back+O: You can keep holding this to jump into the air, just like with sword. Also has I-frames. Shield: Up+O: Shield attack+sword slash. Pretty useless, but resets blitz chain. Back+O: I think you got this mixed up with the counterattack of shields. Back+O is a spinning shield bash. Also, might be good to mention that they take 5 times less MP to block and can block in stasis, Daggers: Up+O: Stab with both daggers. Amazing forward momentum. Resets blitz chain. Side+O: Noct does a unique attack at the end of stafing if you don't interrupt it with other attacks. Also, releasing and re-pushing the stick makes him jump into the air. Up+O is also different if you're far away from the enemy. then there are obviously all the aerial attacks, but only polearms, greatswords and machines have variation in those. Then you got the combos for Armiger Unleashed And regular armiger.

All true but you don't need to know all that information at all and AU all you need to do is time the finisher to get am extra hit Combat has combos, but it doesn't require much thought at all and most dislike that it was based on analogies direction/position That said, I still enjoyed combat, but the atb needed more action

​@KonEl17 it's not soulless. Most FF games are pretty lackluster in combat save like later FF7 games. It's not exclusive to 15. I think it was fine, but the animations and limitations are lackluster

It is my favourite in the series even with all its faults because it is my first in the series and was there for me during a difficult time of my life. I keep coming back to it and replaying it because I love the atmosphere so much and it fills me with feelings of nostalgia each time. I know not everybody will share that same sentiment but I can personally say it does have that power.

I like FF XV, It's still a good game, but if they were to revisit, patch, and update it I think it would be even better. - Add some more monsters in the overworld - More hidden locations - Finish the last 3 DLCs

Still love the first 30-40 hours of this game I love the road trip style I live the bonds of the characters and how the interact and fight the photos pronto takes is awesome the vibe is just so good!

Playing it on PC is bit more enjoyable than console with all the mods that are out. In fact, a team of modders got together and restored the ChocoMog Festival in Altissia, but it took them a work of love and labor with 6 years of development.

I mean, if you take it for what the game is and try to forget about what it COULD’VE been (aka forget versus XIII), you’ll have plenty of fun (plus it’s under $20 nowadays). The dlc episodes are cool (they go from meh to incredible as each dlc dropped at the time). I do credit this game for really trying to emphasize group relations (think the 1on1 conversation with Prompto, Small side quests with the guys, the relationship ups and downs with Gladio) which while was good for its time, ended up being fully realized in games like ff7 rebirth. A great game and excellent soundtrack, but this game will forever be seen as a victim of its circumstances (and development hell).

I find that having to leave the main game and start the DLC episodes from the title screen is quite disappointing. I wish they would have integrated them properly in the main game with the Royal Edition.

I enjoy this one more then 16 But tbh because of 15 & 16 it made me appreciate 13 alot more. Because 13 just feels like a traditional final fantasy game due to the party system, anime esc variety of characters. My favorite memory is this game is this was the first final fantasy I introduced to my son and while he still needs to check out everything before 15 He is a fan of the series now and has an interest in the older titles as he gets older.

Replaying it now since I beat it when I bought it Day 1. It’s a fun casual game to play if you just want to relax. The open world and side quests are fun. The game is chill and cool. Although the game is ‘overly simplified’, I like it cause I don’t mind a good looking game to play where I don’t have to think lol. The visual Aesthetics is what drives this game and I love it. I hope Square will be able to make future Final Fantasy’s with this visual aesthetic.

I got the deluxe steelbook with kingsglaive off a guy in fb marketplace, and my plan was to get the royal edition and throw it in the case. When i got it and opened it, i was kinda shocked to see it already there 😂 guy had the same idea as me and i only spent like $10-$15 on it in 2017

I played it at release. A lot. Then I came back and played it some more when the new content started to come out. I would say that the game is good overall, even though there were many things about it that I did not like. But for all of its flaws, there is one thing that I enjoyed very much. The fishing. I did all of the fishing mini game content and never once felt bored. I think that the original scope of what this game was going to be was just too much. Almost delusional levels of expectation. It felt like they were simply trying to do too much. There is a bunch of videos out there of people exploiting the games glitches to break the barriers and run around in some of the games gigantic unused environments. It's kind of interesting if you were really into FF15.

It was a decent save by Square Enix but it's still a mess. The combat can be underwhelming and monotonous. The open world is lifeless and empty. I feel like XVI did a better job in that regard. The story is haphazardly put together and stills requires you to find it outside of the game. I'll appreciate it for what it is but wouldn't necessarily praise it.

15 just turned 8y..... its at the very end of 2016. Its moreso a 2017 to 2019 game.. Not the best game ever, but its worth playing. The characters are wholesome even if they could use more fleshing out. Needs a remake or just patched more tbh

FFXV has some good stuff, but it has a lot that brings it down too. This is going to sound silly, but stick with me here. The biggest problem with FFXV's combat is the fact that you could cheese any encounter by chugging potions nonstop without CD. It makes the combat feel cheap and unfulfilling. It's the same issue with Elder Scroll's combat. FFVII Remake Trilogy and FFXVI resolve this in unique ways with the former requiring ATB charges to use items and the later limiting the number of consumables you can carry.

I regret buying it. Very few games have made me feel like this. I beat it, so I feel like mechanically, this is a brilliantly designed game, but I never liked the main cast, especially Noctis. I found the story pacing very uneven and often disjointed. The cancellation of some of the announced DLCs put me off even more than the base game and the released DLCs, to the point that I didn't care about getting Ardyn's DLC. I get that other people like it and that's fine, but XV is definitely the one Final Fantasy game I regret getting. And I have found enjoyment in some games other people found bad or annoying.

I came close to going back to this but last minute switched gears a bit and went back to FFVIIR.. TBH I played more of the kiddie version of this on Switch more so than the mainline version.. Good game just doesn't come off as great

I'm a long time FF fan but never played XV. Picked it up after finishing Rebirth, but I am struggling to get into it after 5-6 hours. So far the map feels excessively huge and lifeless. Boring quests. Don't care much for Noc or his buddies. Is it worth playing through, or do I just cut my losses now?

Played this game on release, admitadly it's certainly much better now, but given the expectation I had this is the biggest disappointment I ever had in a video game, I was expecting an epic game and I got..... a boring open world fill with nothing but time wasting task, with a non-existant story for like 2/3 of it (and it only took me 20-25h... and I got the Platinum somehow), with blatant hole in it that were obvious DLC spot with a brain dead gameplay that only get somewhat interesting if you go out of your way to face ennemies with 50LV more than you, with the only redeeming quality being the music which is great but criminaly underuse and the characters which I'm gonna say it are the biggest redeeming quality of this game and probably the reason I kept going, I actually think Noctis and his 3 friends were really attaching character and I go as far as to say this is one of the most coherent JRPG group and I'm not even talking about the myriads of bugs that the game had on release. And this would have been already enough to make me disappointed of the game, but then what did they do ? They did some characters DLC to complete the story which is fair, but then we have a stupid fishing VR game (that I'm pretty sure everyone forgot for the better), a useless MMO, a mobile version for whatever reason, an assassin's creed collab, a collab with a Mobile game that is unknown outside of Japan, a New Year special event or whatever, like DUDE !! I DON'T NEED THAT CRAP JUST FINISH YOUR DAMN FUCKING GAME !!!!!! And then they cancelled their last DLC wave and compile it all including what they wanted to be the new ending in a fucking novel, the final Fuck You out of all of it. So look I don't care if the game is better now that it was in 2016, it certainly is to be fair, I personnaly will never touch that game again, that game is the game that almost make me quit being a fan of Final Fantasy (and yes even XIII while not great I still find it decent), as a fan I have never been that disappointed and never felt that disrespected, and I'm glad that Square seems to have learn of their mistakes and FFVII Remake, Rebirth and XVI are games for all their flaws that felt complete on release and were satsifying to play and didn't feel like it was crying "We didn't have time to finish this so wait for our 12 DLC to complete the game", like XV was, I hope this will never happen again..... But that's just my personnal opinion, the thing about Final Fantasy that is both a strong point and can be a detriment is that every FF offer a different experience, a different story, different theme, different aesthetics....etc.... FFXV is my least favorite game of the franchise, but from what I see like every FF it has found his community, it has found his fan-base which truly loves it, and I guess that simply mean that the game didn't resonate with me (and a lot of people obviously) but just equally resonate with a lot of people, and so for any newcomer I still recommend at least trying it and at least now the game is surely in a far better state than it was back in 2016, and maybe you will love it.
