Can someone help me please, regarding the Lucky Find passive. I’ve unlocked it on my merchant but I’m unable to inherit it to other archetypes, it just doesn’t appear on the list of skills that I’m able to inherit. Any advice? Thank you!

Kingsglaive is the game I wanted then I got this POS forgettable story with unlikeable characters with a world that lets you go from a fantasy city like setting to the open streets of what feels like Texas these two art styles just dont mesh IMO. Its as if they couldnt decide how the setting and tone of the game should be.

Your generation with that mentality against turn based rpd has destroyed rpg games and they become less rpg and more action then anything... While turn based system you can actually appreciate the details in each character moves attack and combos, action like rpg are just chaotic input where u can only think of what command you need or can input in a few seconds but you cant enjoy what the characters are actually doing

3:05 the lock on feels "soft" to me. What I mean is, in many games with lock on, the cam will snap to center focus with your target on screen, but this is missing in Visions of Mana. Your character will target the enemy better, but the change feels slight and you still have to reorient to target the enemy appropriately. There is no hard strafe with lock on, making the targeting aspect feel only half complete, if that makes sense. But I did just get it, so I'll see about camera tweaking with options.

I am new to Trails and just started Daybreak (I'm onto chapter 2 now). If you are also new, head this: I have to say the one thing people don't talk about in these videos is that if you aren't already into JRPGs, this is tough to pick up. I'll explain below. Me personally I don't play JRPGs so playing this was very overwhelming - the amount of nuance to the combat system is insane. It's possible to understand easily after some odd hours of play, but you have to force yourself to learn it otherwise you get destroyed by regular monsters. Also, the cooking system, the connection system, and the alignment system and its consequences aren't immediately clear and obvious so you may end up missing out on content that can only be seen on a second playthrough, which the average person isn't going to do. That being said, I think the main thing that might get a new person to walk away isn't even how complex the combat is, but moreso the plot and dialogue. I've seen that games like Cold Steel have more of a school setting - I do not like that. I don't want a coming of age story. I don't like it. I know its a common JRPG trope but that doesn't mean I have to enjoy it. Daybreak, on the other hand, is that kind of grey area outcast that is already an adult. I like this approach and I like all of his interactions. This is nice and I'm glad I picked this game first for that. Another thing is, well, the dialogue - it's incredibly cringey. As a matter of fact, I turned off the English VA for the Japanese one right off the prologue because of how gross it felt to read and listen to. I don't see why people like this sort of thing. Too much overexplaining the obvious, saying odd shit. Ugh. Despite that, I am powering through it because I think the characters are generally likeable and the gameplay is a good mix of detective and fun monster-roaming combat.

This video is pretty bad and doesnt really explain thr gams's properly. Let me have a crack at it. XVI: Hardcore action RPG with combat akin to Devil May Cry or Bayonetta. Dark fantasy story with heavy themes and an oppresive tone heavily inspired by Game of Thrones. XV: Action RPG and only open world game besides VII Remake's second part. It has poor combat and features 4 guys going on a road trip. Modern day-esque setting with some minor fantasy elements. Most of thr story is told in tie-ins and the DLC, and the story remains incomplete to this day. Widely considered one of the weakest games in the series. XIV: An MMO and currently the most successful MMO in the world, the true WoW killer. It has very similar gameplay to WoW and has over 800 hours of content with a 200 hour free trial up through the first two campeigns. Its mainly known for its incredibly good story and welcoming community. XIII: One of the most contraversial games in the series. Set in a sci-fi world, the game has a real time battle system where you select commands and change classes in real time. It was panned mainly for its extreme linearity, but it does have its fans. XIII-2: The sequel to FFXIII that has the same battle system but is much more open ended and non linear, featuring a zany time traveling plot. You are also able to recruit various monsters to fill your 3rd party member, and features a new protagonist. XIII Lightning Returns: The final game of the FFXIII trilogy. Similar to majora's mask you're on a constant time limit and the game is fully open world. In this game you do not level up, but rather gain stats by doing sidequests. Like MM it is also heavily sidequest focused. FFXII: The last FF game with ATB, but now in real time. This game has a class system where each character chooses 2 out of 12 "license boards" which are basically omnidirectional skill trees that give different skills, abilities, and equipment. The game is massive with a huge xenoblade-esque semi-open world and hundreds of sidequests, and you can even program your characters AI directly to perform actions for you. The setting is very Star Wars inspired. FFXI: The first MMO thats a lot more arcaic than the modern FFXII thats somehow still alive. I dont really recomend it. FFX: The first of two games on PS2. Is very linear like FFXIII but features a great battle system, the love-it-or-hate-it "sphere grid" leveling system, and an amazing story. The setting is very interesting and the characters are great. Considered by many to be the best in the series, but I personally disagree. FFIX: The last "classic" FF and the last game to have traditional turn based combat using ATB and have a traditional fantasy setting. Has pretty simple gameplay with party members with set roles, with the only innovating mechanic being learning new skills from equipment. Its also unique for its main character being a thief and having easily the best story in the franchise, but suffers from pacing issues and slow game speed. FFVIII: The first truely cimatic FF. Mainly known for its assossiated card game Triple Triad and overly complex systems, FFVIII was considered a dissapointment compared to FFVII and was panned for its poor story, unlikable characters, and unfun and broken game mechanics. At least it has a banger OST, arguably the best in the series. FFVII: The most iconic game in the series taking place in a cyberpunk world. The first game on PS1, it revolutionized the franchise and made RPGs truely mainstream for the first time, prompting the golden age of RPGs. (1997-2007) Its currently being remade as a trilogy for modern consoles, but the remakes diverge from the original game in many ways and expects that you've AT LEAST played the original game to fully get everything. Features the "materia system" allowing you to attach items called materia to weapons and armor to boost stats anx learn new skills. FFVI: The last game on SNES and is widely considered to be the best in the series. Has a massive ensamble cast of characters and a story split into two distinct halves, the first half being linear and the second being non-linear. Features the "magicite system" which is sort of a predecessor to the materia system of FFVII, attaching items called magicite to characters in order for them to learn new spells and sometimes boost their stat growths. FFV: The second game on SNES that was JP exclusive until the GBA port and the Pixel Remaster. Features a detailed class system akin to games like Bravely Default that allows you to combine the abilities of multiple classes together and three distinct worlds to explore. Its story and tone is much more light hearted than other games in the series. FFIV: The first FF game to have a real story. Features a revolving cast of characters, linear plot, and simplistic gameplay. Great for beginners. FFIII: The last game on NES and one of the most underrated games in the series. The first FF game to feature a class system, even if it is super underdeveloped. Play the pixel remaster version if you can, NOT the 3D Remake on DS/Mobile/Steam. FFII: A strange game in the series where you raise stats individually by performing certain actions rather than by gaining levels with EXP. It was widely panned due to poor dungeon design, an overly dark and edgy plot, broken balance, and extreme amount of grinding. FFI: The first game in the series. Almost like a DnD fangame, you can choose any of 6 classes for your 4 characters to be and any combination of classes is possible. Unlike the original NES version, the various remakes like the GBA, PSP, and Pixel Remaster versions have aged very well.

I dont know if I'd call the stagger system a core mechanic of the series. It's only in 2 mainline games, 13 and 16. The brought it back for remake and rebirth though so it probably will be going forward, which I personally hope is not the case, but wouldn't mind it too much if it does become a mainstay

I am an older fan of the FF series as a whole, so thought come from that line of thinking I like the action in this game compared to the later action FF (7-r and 16), mostly due to it is not perfect dodge roll BS. It was more of the disjointed story that hurt the game in my thoughts. It is okay to have other media for a game/movie, but that game/movie should be able to stand alone. Example: FFVII AC is not needed to understand FFVII, but FFVII works as a movie without playing FFVII. Now Kings Glaive might have worked as a movie by it's self, but the game needed it for the game to make sense which was a bad move. Best open world was FFVI which was decades before XV, did not have a day/night cycle but was on the SNES.

The Free To Play Options will likely be more costly than the standard priced games in the long run. Just a friendly reminder. But half of them will show up with DLC and probably show up with a game of the year edition. So... maybe we should just invest in books?
