Thank you for the wonderful podcast! This format between father and daughter is super enjoyable and the information is first rate! I found Eat to Live 10 years ago and I like to keep learning, studying and reviewing to offset the mainstream culture that surrounds me- and to keep improving at age 63. I particularly appreciate the information on aging well into the later decades. Thank you Dr. Fuhrman! Your gift to us is pure gold. BTW- following ETL, I lost 66 pounds in 9 months, got healthy BP, lipids and normal blood sugar. And it has remained so for 10 years. I was able to take up running and yoga and get rid of depressed moods. ETL really works.

I am so happy that I found these podcasts between Joel and Jenna. I appreciate Dr. Fuhrman's explanations over the years, but these podcasts with Jenna seem to really slow these explanations down and dig deeper into these important topics, and make it easier for me to comprehend. Great conversation! Jenna, keep asking the questions we all need answers to and help us to simplify these deep topics.

@@carbrock.2854 I created my DHA/EPA supplements as a direct response to a widespread need I noticed among my patients, family, and the general public. My aim was to provide a solution that is rooted in extensive scientific research. In this video, I delve into the complexities surrounding fish and seafood consumption. My goal is to arm viewers with the necessary knowledge to make an informed decision about whether they wish to include seafood in their diets or not. I strongly believe in the importance of supplementing our diet with these critical nutrients, DHA and EPA. Our overall health should never be a game of chance. For this reason, I have taken the time to explain my recommendations thoroughly, providing evidence-based insights into why these supplements are so crucial. Please visit my blog for a comprehensive list of all the studies I've referenced in this video. Rest assured, my intention is not solely to sell a product. Rather, it's to impart vital information that can potentially make a significant difference in our health outcomes. Sorry, there are not 2 sides to this issue, only one. Fish are food only to other sea animals, not to humans. It is an unethical choice to consume any sentient animal. We do not need their dead flesh for health purposes. We have many plant sources for that. Please be kind to all animals, both sea and land. They are our friends.

@@drfuhrman I looked up the G-BOMBS & I actually have a HUGE Giant salad lunch & dinner, unless I’m doing OMAD, with tons of mixed greens & many colors (red bell peppers, cucumber, cauliflower, red onion, carrots, mushrooms), then I usually add garbanzo beans or other beans & I always add nutritional yeast, avocado, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, sometimes sesame seeds & some nuts. And balsamic vinegar. I almost always have berries for dessert.! I try to vary the veggies a little and sometimes I add cooked veggies or I’ll have some veggie soup and occasionally, a little salmon. Not sure if I’m deficient in something but I also have a small handful of kelp and some sauerkraut, ACV & 1 drop of iodine in water when I don’t have my seaweed. I’m going back & forth between Super Immunity, Eat to Live, Eat for Life, Fasting and Eating for Health, The End of Diabetes & The End of Dieting. I’m also going back-n-forth between IF 16:8 or 22:2 2MAD & 22:2 OMAD but I want to do prolongued & therapeutic liquid fast. My FBS in the morning is still high 97-119 (depending on what I ate the night before). Hospitals, doctors offices and schools should be places where good nutrition is taught and provided not places that contribute to disease and obesity. It is crazy the hospitals are feeding people the very food that caused the heart disease, high blood pressure or cancer that they are treating. Every person in the hospital should receive some nutrition education before being released. Every doctor visit should be an opportunity to educate patients about how food choices impacts their health outcomes. The fact that doctors do not get nutrition training as part of their training makes no sense. Medicare and Medicaid should require nutrition education as part of patient care. Focus should be on food choices. Fasting should be investigated as a treatment for disease.

Amen to that! I'm a Licensed Health insurance Agt-Independent Broker. Now that I've gotten off my med's I previously could not live without and now that I chose to follow Nutritarian life, it's so hard to hear the lists of diseases and medications clients take and how they eat. I'm not permitted to chat about what I know as an Agent, but when they see I've dropped 50 pounds in 3 months and, a client even told me my face illuminates (only wore lipstick so.. was not makeup!), and ask me how did I get so much energy, release wt quickly yet look great... I can share that a Dr. Joel Furmans Eat to Live book and all his educational KZbin videos absolutely changed my life forever. But I ALWAYS emphasize, it's about HEALTH, which means, I eat NUTRIENTS, and now that my body gets the NUTRIENTS it needs, my ravenous crazy cravings gradually went away, and so far, 50 pounds have melted away effortlessly (still have 50 more to go). But this is NOT a weight loss diet. This is a Lifelong way of eating that focuses on eating the way, I believe, God intended in order to live to our ripe age with the mobility, lucidity, activity levels as a healthy, youthful child. I pray that at least parents learn and teach their children. And that schools grow gardens to harvest and eat, and that every business, household, hospital, school grows, harvests, learns to eat nutritarian-nutritional focused cooking, learns and teaches meal preparation. Focus must not be wt loss bc that's a money driven industry! No motivation to ever change that!! You are so right, Kenz300! Focus must target those like me who were deathly ill one month, desparately searched for answers to self-seal bc medical modalities were killing me... I prayed to Jesus for the right answer. Go figure, a KZbin Jewish Dr I came across answered my prayer!! In 2 weeks following GBOMBS, Nutritarian protocol, I felt like I'd had a Miracle. In my late 60's, feeling like I'm in my 30s. I tried to tell my Dr about my new Eat to Live lifestyle and explained that's how I've been releasing my wt! (HE hadvti look at my chart bc he hadn't paid attn to my wt changes over time. But he did tell me to get Foluc Acid supplements bc it looked a bit low. (Uh, folic acid supplements not happening!). GBOMBS to incorporate to get what my body needs... oh yeah. One by one, let's all change our world and the medical, pharmaceutical world, one doctor, nurse, patient, client, child, chef, etc at a time!

@@claudiopetracca3996 There is almost zero mercury in sardines, they swim close to the shore so there could be some dioxins and pcbs but the high level of Selenium destroys that away. Hey Dave, i understood him to say no to fish and instead of fish, get your zinc, protein, Omegas, etc from seeds: chia, Hemp, flax, etc. Sardines is a no... you're eating 282mg of salt!! That's a no for sure. If you want to learn the science behind his No salt, oil, sugar, no dairy, no meat, etc, i hope you read his books, watch multiple educational videos, read his Books, including "Eat to Live" gave me an incredible foundaton and understanding of the science behind his protocol. G-BOMBS every day may be a good start. But i sure hope those daily doses of sardines... very high salt is a habit you consider breaking, IF you want to live long and HEALTHY well into your later years, vs just living long and sickly, disabled lifestyle. I've only been collowing his protocol for 4.5 months, but wow, my health, energy has skyrocketed. Im even off meds that i prebiously couldnt live without for 24 years. I wish you the best, and hope you watch all of his educational videos to look at the whole picture. I wish i could have known this stuff when i was young. I hope you rethink sardines, and instead focus on G-BOMBS... he explains those acrynyms in his many videos-books. Hope you rewatch this in its entirety... lots to learn here!

What People Ate in Ancient Times: I've always been fascinated with the Methuselah Diet: every seed-bearing plant and that was it (Genesis 1:29). The median age of those who ate this pre-flood diet, of the ages recorded, was over 900 years old! Granted, Adam and Eve likely started with perfect microbiomes and the plants were surely more nutritious, especially in the Garden of Eden, but even when they got kicked out. In Genesis 6, God says, it's not good for men to life forever: their days shall be only 120 years. And immediately after that, in the same chapter, we have the flood. And then in Genesis 9, just as Noah and family have come out on dry land, God says, go ahead and eat meat. Now, Noah lived every bit as long as his ancestors, but his sons lived a little less, and their sons a little less, and so on and so on down to about Moses, who lived around 120 years.

I wonder what Dr Fuhrman thinks of the 2 recent studies that were able to reduce the epigenetic age. One of the things they did was to ask people to eat liver and eggs, as well as cruciferous vegetables, certain spices and so on. Here are the 2 studies, which use pretty much the same diet: "Potential reversal of biological age in women following an 8-week methylation-supportive diet and lifestyle program: a case serie" "Potential reversal of epigenetic age using a diet and lifestyle intervention: a pilot randomized clinical trial" In the second one they explain why they don't want people to take B-6 and B12 supplements in the paragraph: "Rationale for not using supplemental methyl donor nutrients" They say they may increase cancer risk and accelerate aging. Here is the study that showed that B6+B9+B12 can accelerate epigenetic aging by a factor of 5: "Effect of adding B-vitamins to vitamin D and calcium supplementation on CpG methylation of epigenetic aging markers" So Dr Fuhram says it is less risky to take B12 supplements than eating meat, that may not be true. Maybe sardines might be better than liver though, considering it is high in B12, omega 6s, and also has a good 1:1 ratio of omega6/omega3, and also are not very high in saturated fats.
