I also started flying helis after flying planes for about a year and the thing that always translates over is when it's coming towards you your controls are inverted which is the biggest hurdle to get over as a new pilot. Other than that learning to turn nicely isn't too bad once you have some practice and just build from there. Nice flying! And if in doubt, don't go inverted 🤣 definitely do more heli videos.

Yeah and when going inverted on top of left is right and right is left, down is up and up is expensive.

You need to tighten your main blades up a bit. They are way too loose, you'll end up causing a boom strike.

I started flying 2 years ago come this December.ive mastered all the 90mm class jets and starting to get bored with 3:30 min flight times. Really thinking about buying a heli and seeing if i like it.

You did fine! I've had a few electric helis, but on helicopters, nitro (imho) are best. 20 years ago, several of us had 3d helicopters. Thundertiger raptor helis. I had the 50 size, teacher had the 90 (& he could do ANYTHING with it!) I was starting to get good, b4 the club property got sold.

How many channels does the radio flying that helicopter have?

Even before I watched the vid the answer is yes. I've been for months just trying to master hovering and small maneuvers, I have the 230s and its prob one of the easiest to learn with, but it is a whole different type of flying. thanks for sharing bud!!!

The 230s is a great heli! I flown the night version last year briefly and enjoyed it ! "with safe on"

Well Jay whether or not you fly your RC Helicopter inverted in this video you did a great job of keeping the Helicopter in the air. If I could do that much type of flight with your Helicopter in this video I would be happy. I have only owned a few E-flite RC Coaxial helicopters the past dozen years or so and I am still flying the E-flite mcx2 RC Helicopter. It is good inside Winter RC fun in my home when I can't get outside to fly my Hobbyzone Carbon Cub 1.3 meter when it is too windy and any rain or snow is falling 🚁🛩😏

MCX2 was a cool helicopter when it came out! But the newer style flybarless helis fly MUCH better!

Coaxial ( twin rotor spining opposite directions canceling the torque rotaion and the need for a tail rotor) and Fixed pitch (rotors shaped like a wing pitched to lift) helis go by rpm. Both are best for beginners. What your flying is a collective ( rotors shaped like a wing but rpm stays the same so lift comes from pitching the rotors positive or neg to go up or inverted) not recommended for beginers but not impossible. Def recommend an rc simulator. They are extremely accurate, of ypu can do it in the sim you can 99% do it for real, and if you crash in the sim it doesnt cost you a ton of $. Most allow you to use your rc transmitter majority of the time. good video bro. Still trying to figure out where you fly. Trying to get back into areal rc. Im in oakdale. Always remember when going inverted down is up and and up is expensive.

And to anyone looking into getting a collective heli, def by a kit and build it. You can find build videos on youtube l. It's not that hard. May need a couple of specific tools but they're not expensive. The knowledge you gain in building it is worth it's weight in the amount of money you'd end up paying someone to fix when you crash or break something. That and the understanding of how the heli works.
