Keith! You are amazing! I am a convert! I am on an exciting journey becoming Catholic! This Easter I will be confirmed!!! And get the Eucharist! I worked for 10 years in a Pentecostal church no one could have ever told me that I would become Catholic, however I have always had a personal relationship with The Holy Spirit and because of that this journey has become easier than I thought! I praise God because my husband supports my conversion! I love Francis Chan and have taken one of his bible studies! I am praying for him!

Francis Chan seems to me to be a humble man seeking the will of God. I was "born" Catholic but drifted away and was attending protestant churches, but that video is bringing back truths about my Catholic faith. Chan is a Spirit filled person who is open to learning all he can about following Christ. We should all pray for him and for Christ's church. w/love

Keith Nester thank you for your channel. I am a cradle Catholic and my husband recently converted to Catholicism before our wedding. He was AG then Episcopalian prior to his conversion. I left him on his own for this process because I never wanted him to look back and say he did it for me. What I lost in that process was learning his thought process, and how hard the process really was for him. Being Catholic was so common sense to me, I never thought it would be difficult to accept Mary and other doctrines. Thank you for having these videos that have helped me to learn how hard this process really was for him. I hope the rest of Catholic KZbin and social media starts to share your videos, you have such an important voice as a convert. Additionally, I find that most converts know more than us cradle Catholics.

Great thoughts, Keith. It's exciting indeed. I believe he is discovering the truth. After I watched the video of Francis, I looked up these few verses: "The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ? Because the loaf of bread is one, we, though many, are one body, for we all partake of the one loaf." -1 Cor. 10:16-17 "For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine but, following their own desires and insatiable curiosity, will accumulate teachers and will stop listening to the truth and will be diverted to myths." -2 Tim. 4:3-4

Wgaither1 Lol! The Apostles and their disciples didn’t have pocket new testaments to hand out. They taught (through the generations) by preaching (and writing) and handing down what was taught to them by the Lord. (“Tradition”) Like the Jews, early Christianity was sustained by oral tradition. The writings of the early church fathers (direct disciples of the apostles) are abundant and confirm this. Remember that scripture itself tells us that not all was written down.
@rlim6132
@rlim6132 4 жыл бұрын
@@Wgaither1 before the Bible came to what it is now there was alresdy a living church with Peter as the first Pope. For 1,500 years, the Eucharist was the center of faith of early Christians. It was only during the Reformation that the Eucharist was replaced with the pulpit by Bible-swagging preachers.
@SnuggleBunnyBaby
@SnuggleBunnyBaby 4 жыл бұрын
@@Wgaither1 you won't find a named church in scripture, but for 300 years, we had a thriving church in many nation's and booming before the new testament was discerned by the gift of the Holy Spirit. So how in the world could the apostles and their successors lead for all that time without the whole book? They did so with the tradition and instruction Christ left. Do you know John 21:25 it says Now there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. If there were miracles Christ did we will never know, isn't it reasonable to think that Christ wouldn't have let his apostles wing it in terms of church leadership or form or structure? Many MANY people who research the early church come to the Catholic faith. The early church fathers look and sound and act awfully Catholic (because they are). One more thing, just because the true church is Catholic, doesn't mean all Catholics share identical tradition. Eastern Catholics have different liturgies from Roman Catholics. Chaldean Catholics are different and so are Maronite Catholics and so on. There are many flavors and types and traditions within the Catholic church. But make no mistake, even with our cultural/regional influence, we are the church Jesus left. My greatest advice is to do some research. And when your eyes are open, you'll have two choices,much like Steve Ray told Keith: either come Home or turn around and never look back (I paraphrased. Look up Keith's video on meeting Steve Ray).

I've been a Catholic since birth, lately I have encountered more protestants that convert to Catholicism and you have no idea how powerful and encouraging that is. It has encouraged me to learn and practice more and better. It has increased my faith. My wife and I adopted two children (we have two of our own) and one of them (age 9 at the time), after 3 months of going to Sunday Celebration, she cried during the fracture of the bread and told us: HE IS BEAUTIFUL. I wish some day i get to see him as well. So, thank you to you and all of those who have converted and continue to serve as an example.

Yes Francis Chan!!! I am born Catholic But I think there are a few things Catholics should change. Such as the statutes n Glorifying Mary n Saints cuz It doesn’t apply to the First commandment n that all praise n Glory n worship only goes to God n remember he is a jealous God. And Jesus called Mary woman not mother. Also saying what Hav u got to do with me to her. Probably knowing we humans or Catholics will raise her up since she is the mother of Jesus n that on the cross he says to John this is your mother. All statues n art should be to the side n the center focus is the cross that represents Our Lord n Savior Jesus Christ our Lamb. All art n statues to the side or around the church. These things distract the spiritual worship of God. God is of Spirit not in the statues. visual appeals to human like bugs to the light. If this is how u can first capture the attention of sinners so be it. Love the mass of Catholicism tho!!!It’s in scripture- the reverence(kneeling), the incense, the candles n the breaking bread-supposedly for fellowship cuz this is what God really wanted for us humans is love n communion with Him n one another. Which Catholics lack there too. The Catholics don’t get this n are aloof with one another. U go your way I go my way after church. Catholicism attract many to come to God but it has to lead them to the Truth n the Truth is the way the life in Jesus n his Word. All priest n all man need to humble to God -only the Father the Son n the Holy Spirit are glorified n worshipped n praised. I’ve seen two churches in my area hav changed they only hav the cross as the center n all things aside n mass is all about the Trinity which is great cuz Jesus said a kingdom divided can not stand 😊🙏✝️

Dominic Ward thank you for your reply. I love the Catholic mass it’s in scripture that’s why I can’t seem to leave the Catholic Church but from what I’ve seen there is idolism in church goers. They kiss n touch n pray to the statues. God is of the spirit he’s not in the statue nor the saints. God says all Glory n praise n worship goes to him. We can honor the saints but we must not worship n glorify them in the way we do the Lord. There must be a distinction. The first commandment? Anyways I love the reverence of the Catholic Church most Protestant church is singing loudly n not kneeling or showing as Christians should cuz the Our Father says do on earth what is done in Heaven. What is done in Heaven is worship n praise n reverence for God- John revelation 😊🙏✝️⛪️

Im a cradle Catholic, i consider myslef an "every day Catholic" goes to mass on Sundays as an obligation, seldom read the bible.. in short my faith was shallow. The first Protestant to Catholic convert video i saw was by you Keith when you were telling your story in church. I was struck by your story especially about the holy eucharist and it opened my eyes how wonderful we catholics have without realizing their essence and beauty that Protestants don't have. That led me also to the journey home network and viewed most of the videos there. I never had an encounter with a protestant on matters of faith before. I felt sad how ugly they painted Catholics in their minds like: we are idolaters, whore of Babylon, we will burn hell because we do not worship God, we are not Christians, they are, etc. Learned so much from you Keith, Steve Ray, Scott Hann, John Bergsma, Ken Hensly to mention a few. @Ellen C . And Catholics becoming Evangelical Christians become stronger Christians as well as opposed to the ones that are Born in Evangelical homes . This is very evident when you look at places like Phillipines , Latin American nations and many such other countries where Catholicism was once dominant and most Evangelicals are ex Catholics . At the end of the day , It's all about loving Jesus and Loving others . People can argue theologically and be really surprised when the Lord will tell them " You're very knowledgeable in my word but did you love others as i commanded or wasted your time arguing with people about doctrine .

What their saying is ( Well the learned ones ) , that a few of the practices of the Roman Catholic church is nowhere to be found in the book of Acts or gospel . Generally they ask questions like , Where in the Bible does it show that Mary went to heaven Body and soul ? and If we offer prayers to Mary then Jesus's death was in vain cause Jesus came for that very reason to break down the wall of separation that divided mankind from God and the Curtain in the Temple split from top to bottom so people could enter into the presence of God through Jesus . So the protestants would really agree with what you are saying that Jesus established one church and the Roman Catholics are not following the full teachings of Jesus . As long as there's no major doctrinal issue , eg Jesus is not God and his blood doesn't wash away our sins , i still believe that minor doctrinal differences should't become our main argument . I've noticed that people get so bogged in such arguments that without realising , they start hating people . God Bless

@reyna vanderburg Hello, I noticed you said for us to read the Bible. What follows may seem rather aggressive or angry, please don't read it that way. Here goes: I have indeed read the Bible, and it says, "Thou art Peter (petros) and on this rock (petra) I will build my Church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven, *whatever* you bind on earth is bound in heaven, and *whatever* you loose on earth is loosed in heaven. From Matthew Chapter 16. Read that part in Matthew 16 for the context, and after that, read the part in Matthew 18 that talks about forgiveness and see whether Jesus was talking about an invisible church with thousands of decentralized congregations that all say they believe the Bible yet radically disagree, or whether it's a unified Church with authority to teach and govern. If you want even more evidence, then look at how similar the Church in Acts 15 is to the Catholic Church. If you want the Jewish context to what "the keys to the kingdom of heaven" is, read Isaiah 22. If you want to know what "binding and loosing" is in Matthew 16 & 18, look up binding and loosing to see what first century Jews would have understood about it. Now I ask you to read the Bible in light of the teachings of the early Christians who received it, the Church Fathers, and see that they had the Catholic idea about the Eucharist, the Church, salvation, and the protestant man-made tradition of Bible alone, which is not found in the Bible. Sorry for the long comment and God bless! I will leave any further replies to others willing to have a conversation.

You immediately say "well it can't mean gnawing on his arm" why not? When 4 babies grew in me they used my blood, my body, everything they used to grow and live came from me and even after they were born! Breast milk is alive, if you put it under a microscope it is alive, like blood with antibodies. This is why ancient Cathedrals were SO beautiful because they contained the Body of Christ. A church that looks like a Costco doesn't convey the sacredness of a place that holds the Holy of Holies. That's why people were willing to die in the Coliseum, they didn't die for a symbol they died for the living reality of Jesus coming to us in the Eucharist.

After watching Francis speak, I think he is talking exclusively about the latin mass. Because in Catholic churches we may not have a pulpit, we have the sacrifice of the mass being officiated by a representative of Jesus facing the congregation. The latin mass meant the the priest was facing the tabernacle, leading us to god and preparing us for our own deaths. The latin mass leads us to Holiness because we become participants in the sacrificial meal.

Mary Salmond It wasn’t the center of the apostolic church. The Word of God was. The book of Acts tells us that the Jews and Gentiles heard the Books of Moses very Sabbath (the 7th day) in then Synogogue. The communion (bread and wine/grape juice) were not held in every service. But Christ tells us do do it in remembrance of Him. So are there churches that do communion, yes, but the lie the RCC Eucharist perpetrates is that the priest changes the waifer and wine to the literal body and blood to the literal Body and Blood or Christ. It’s a symbol. Not a hocus pocus trick the priest has power over Jesus. Jesus is alive. The Holy Spirit is the one who is the presence of Christ in us when we repent, receive Christ, and are baptized by immersion. The “Church Fathers” were not studying the Bible. The RCC doesn’t teach the Bible. Neither are the priests and bishops taught the Bible. So regardless of what tradition Chan has stumbled upon of the RCC and how long it has carried on.. like SUNday as the holiday rather than Sabbath. The RCC changed it. Not what the Bible teaches though. Only the 7th day is God’s Sabbath and Holy Day. So back to the Eucharist it has no transforming power any person, only the power to remember Christ death on our behalf. And that’s the danger you’re placing that at the center of your service rather than teaching the word of God. It doesn’t have to be either, but it needs to be a both and, and the correct biblical theology about what communion is rather than what the Eucharist lie teaches.

The Eucharist wasn’t the center of apostolic church, it was a center of Catholic worship. And catholicism became of a combination of paganism cloaked in Christianity. But not biblical and neither are her doctrines, nor her traditions. It’s a sheep in wolves clothing. That’s why there was a reformation. Not because people were trying to break away, but they were trying to reform the church within in order to follow Christ and for the church to look like Christ. To read the Bible was punishable by death, to pray in private punishable by death, to sing a Psalm. Does that sound like Jesus? Or Satan? The presence of Christ is the indwelling Holy Spirit when we repent and receive Christ and are baptized by immersion. The Eucharist has no power to transform us, it has the power to cause us to reflect and remember the sacrifice of Christ on our behalf. It’s not gonna freak out people that understand Bible prophecy, The Catholic Church is calling her “daughters” back to her. And all who don’t read and understand the Bible and the Gospel will return. Because the Bible tells us that the beast deceives whole world. And the false prophet supports it. Marion theology is not biblical. Mary was not a forever virgin. The Bible tells us that Jesus had brothers and sisters. She is not interceding on behalf of people in heaven because people are dead and buried waiting the resurrection at the last day. Read the Bible. Read the Bible. Read the Bible.

@@gospelnomadgirl3435 "Gospel Girl" - what does " Ziccaron" mean? When Jesus says "do this in memory of me" in the Gospel every 1st Jew would immediately think of Ziccaron. How come you don't know that? Orthodox jews today still have this same understanding. It is how jews today are connected with the Passover of Moses. You can't understand Catholicism if you don't understand Judaism.

BDD 03051 BDD 03051 If you are asking that because you believe that changes the day of worship from Sabbath to Sunday, you are mistaken. He rested in the grave on Sabbath handing completed His work of securing salvation. Just as He rested on the 7th day after creation and made it holy. He rose on the first day. The RCC changed the day regardless of the reason you have been taught as in “honor or the resurrection day”. Jesus kept it. The NT records over 80x after Jesus went back to heaven that the apostle kept the Sabbath (Messianic Jews and Gentiles), and the Bible tells us we will be keeping in on earth made New. See Isaiah 66:22-23. No breach in the Bible-just the error brought in by the RCC. The catechism itself will tell you the 7th day is the sabbath. Yet the RCC boasts: “Sunday is a catholic institution, and its claims to observance can be defended only on catholic principles…From beginning to end of scripture there is not a single passage that warrants the transfer of weekly public worship from the last day of the week to the first.” The Catholic press, Sydney, Australia, August 1900. “It is well to remind the Presbyterians, Baptists, Methodists, and all other Christians, that the Bible does not support them anywhere in their observance of Sunday. Sunday is an institution of the Roman Catholic church, and those who observe the day, observe a commandment of the Catholic church.” Priest Brady, in an address reported in the Elizabeth, NJ “News”, March 18, 1903. “We hold upon this earth the place of God Almighty.” Pope Leo XIII, in an Encyclical Letter June 20, 1894. “The Pope is not only the representative of Jesus Christ, but he is Jesus Christ Himself, hidden under the veil of flesh.” The Catholic National, July 1895 “The pope has power to changes times, to abrogate laws, and to dispsense with all things even the precepts of Christ.” Again... beliefs spoken from RCC’s own history and media publications. She is doing exactly what was predicted in Daniel 7 and 8. Speaking blasphemous words and changing the times and laws of God.🤔😒😔🙏🏼

@@p.doetsch6209 Lol, we went there. Different jurisdictions are not schism, thats how the church has always operated in practice and officially in the canons of Nicea. But if we want to talk about The Catholic church then....: One? The Catholic church is far from One, unless you are saying its one with the world. The post VATICAN II world of Catholicism (and Pope Francis) has no problem with syncretism with pagans and other religions. All one has to do is do a quick google search, or travel to most 3rd world countries where Catholicism is practiced along side voodoo, hinduism, and scary Latin American ritual stuff (Pachamama anyone?). Not to mention you cant agree on what a Liturgy / Mass is, some churches have rock bands, some have charismatic / Pentecostal celebrations, some do the Latin Mass, the Eastern Catholic church exists (and doesnt hold to all the councils or dogma of the Pope and Western Catholic church, but is still accepted by the Catholic church? wow). Also some bishops and priests call for gay marriage, liberal politics, etc, while others dont. Holy? I wont debate this one, see my point above about gay marriage, etc. But I am sure some individual parishes are just fine. But I am not sure what your criteria is, but I dont think we disagree here, the Orthodox church would fall into it as well I am sure about how you define Holy. You can respond if youd like for clarification Universal? Yes if you include everyone, including non Christians, its pretty universal. But the faith / doctrines the Catholic church holds today is not the faith of the world wide Catholic church. I believe over 1/3 of Catholics (maybe more?) dont even believe in the real presence? So yes, its universal in the sense that it can include everyone (see my comment about syncretism above), Not universal as in the Orthodox church is Catholic. Apostolic? This one is too easy. I am sure the Catholic church is unchanged and rock bands and such are exactly the way the early church functioned (Not even getting deep into Frankish culture taking over the early Roman church). VATICAN II contradicts canons in Vatican I, which contradicts Nicea, along with other church fathers. New teachings that developed along the way, Pachamama, Changing the original creed, immaculate conception, not to mention the state of monasticism and general fasting in the Catholic church (and everything else Novus Ordo too be honest).

I was briefly commenting on the state of the Catholic church and how it contradicts your points even on a surface level.
