It's Catholic.... Not Roman Catholic. What are the words of the Credo? " I believe in the one holy Catholic and Apostolic church"... Didn't see "Roman" anywhere... Except in the history of the"Reformation" when the rebel Henry VIII's chancellor decided to denominate the one true church and sieze the title "Catholic"for themselves. .. which they then exported to North America and beyond. I'm sure they are thanking you for your cooperation. What does the Vatican call us? Little bit of homework there.

I left the Catholic Church at age 19 because I would not go to Confession. I gravitated to an E-Z faith that had made no such demands on me. I still wanted Jesus and his blessings but on my terms. I became a Born-again Christian for 17 years. God allowed me to kick the tires of his Church and I found that the vehicle was roadworthy. One day I returned to the parish of my youth and knelt in the confessional and said, "Bless me, Father, for I have sinned."

So, true! Catholicism is challenging in a world that tells people that they should just go with the flow and if it feels good do it. I heard Fr. Mark Goring make a comment that may explain converts like Keth, Scott Hahn, Taylor Marshall, Steve Ray, and others who are some of the most effective of Catholic apologists. (Much more so than many post Vat II cradle Catholics.) "Strong Protestants become Catholics. Weak Catholics become Protestants."

Sorry that your mother is having a hard time accepting your desire to become Catholic. Does your mother believe that we are saved by faith alone? If that is what she believes, ask her why can't a Catholic be saved by grace\faith alone? She probably thinks that Catholics do sinful things (which we do not), but do Protestants not sin? And yet, they believe they are saved in spite of their sins! Just throwing that out there, because most Protestants don't know anything about the Church aside from the nonsense they have been fed from a Protestant upbringing. Good luck on your journey home! Hi Keith, Thank you for your love and for speaking the truth with passion. I have been married for 32 years and my husband and I have been evangelicals for 40ish years. We have 3 beautiful children who love and follow Jesus. My two daughters have converted to Catholicism due to really strong Catholic men who love Jesus, fully live their faith and are now their husbands. At first I asked God where we went wrong, then I got angry, which turned into sleepless nights, until I told God that I will do my part and study but "don't ask me to become a Catholic!" After wrestling with doubts and fear, I finally humbled myself and prayed, "Father, I want Your truth; not what I perceive or have been taught as truth." I started with the church fathers, read some Scott Hahn books among others, listened to Catholic apologists, watched the journey home videos, asked a lot of questions and along the way, fell in love with the Catholic church. I am fully Catholic in my heart but where do I go as a married woman whose husband is ok with his daughters entering the Church but not his wife? He is not a reader like I am and has no desire to learn about the early church or read history and doesn't want to leave our church. We have had some heated discussions but mostly he refuses to talk about it and won't ask me any questions. We have a good marriage and are fully committed to one another but for the first time we are divided in our unity with Christ. I am praying because I finally told him I wanted to enter the Catholic Church and his response was to blame me for dividing us, to which I responded, "don't blame me, blame God." He softened a little and said after we deal with moving (we are in the midst of finding a home) we'll talk to someone and get council. Is it my place to wait or do I move forward without him? Meaning, do I enter the church and hope he follows or do I wait for him as head of the house? It is a hard road, I have lost friends who think I'm being deceive. I have a hard time going to church each Sunday, I can no longer take communion in my church, I had to stop teaching doctrine and theology and can't be part of a community group because I don't want to cause division. So basically I have no community or fellowship. I have lost a lot but I know I will gain so much more. Please pray for me, my husband and my 23 year old son, both are godly men.

My mother converted to Catholicism in 1951 when she married my Dad. Somebody slipped pamphlets in the mailbox that said truly vile things about Catholics and described her future hot seat in Hell. When she told me this, I was flabbergasted. As a cradle Catholic, I've never heard anything that nasty being said by Catholics about Protestants. We may preach or teach but the name calling and mud slinging seems to be pretty one-sided and generally irrational. That's probably because as Catholics we see ourselves as responsible for the salvation of the rest of the world through evangelizing and witnessing our faith. I believe the craziness is because the rejection of authority was at the heart of the Reformation - Luther didn't like works, Henry wanted a divorce - Calvin was into populism - and went hand-in-hand with the Enlightenment and Humanism. Protestantism rejected the beauty and grace and traditions and apostolic teachings and scholarship of the early Church - everything which predated the the Bible and was passed forward by the early Christians. Bottom line, Protestants don't know what they're missing. Catholicism, warts and all, is glorious and grants mere creatures the most intimate relationship with Christ possible this side of Heaven - the Eucharist.

@@nickdon That was a factor in my conversion albeit a small one. I thought about which church was the most persecuted and that was the Catholic Church! So, I figured that must be the one that teaches the fullness of the faith and sure enough, it does! I do agree that Protestants tend to migrate towards simplicity in salvation. After all, why should they go through all the steps of becoming Catholic when they can just go to most Protestant churches and be taught that if they say a prayer and repent of their previous sins, they are assured of salvation with nothing else involved, despite the fact that the scriptures completely contradict this teaching. People (especially many Americans) want the most stuff (in this case salvation) with the least effort! It's sad that people are that way so often. We can but pray for them because most don't even know that they aren't getting the fullness of the faith, thus we must pray that our Father will forgive them because they truly know not what they do! Peace be with you! :o)

Keith you're a blessing to the Church. Jesus called you back to help his Church in a time of desperate need. The Church needs it's defenders. I have seen Protestants whio were filled with faith, but you have pretty much nailed a fear that Protestants have that is in my opinion more emotional than logical. A theme I hear from Protestants is they are saved because of faith alone NOT seeing the fact they have a responsibility to keep the other end of the bargain. Which is devotion to God The Trinity and contrition for ones sins. This might be a simplified example, I had a Baptist friend who always got into to trouble and sinned. I would point this out to him, we cant do that its wrong. To which he would say "it's ok, let's have fun now, we will just ask for forgiveness later. 😥 There is the crux, I can get out of anything, I just need to ask for forgivesness and it's erased. No contrition, no having to learn and feel sorrowful, as well not stopping the behavior. Being a Cathilic is so hard, but it doesnt come close to what Jesus went through to wash awsy our sins. How can we not honor achknowledge his suffering. Keith may the Father, the Son and thr Holy Spirrit bless you and your family and keep you safe. Amen

I was a cradle catholic but I rebelled in my teens because my mother forced me to go to church when I was young and I started being of this world , not only in it I was of it. My mother praying the rosary everyday has brought me back. But I must admit when I first came back I searched listening to all sorts of religious speakers and I learned that the more that non catholics that attacked catholics made me learn more about my faith. For everything they said I had to search for myself to see if they are making things up and where they were getting their information. Every time they would attack I would search more, thanks to them I began stronger in my faith. Thanks to you Keith and people like you who have converted have strengthened me even more because you have done your homework ,you are and people like you are a true blessing to wake us up. I believe in Gods plan I believe things happen for a reason. I was one in many he left the 99 for. ❤❤❤

The spirit of truth will always tug at your heart and mind while you are in the catholic house of worship. Catholic theology teaches that mary was sinless? assumption ? purgatory? transubstiation? prayers to mary/saints? They are not found in scripture . These things will put a believer in bondage spiritually speaking

Thanks Keith! Especially for your closing comments. I've known for almost a year that I need to return to the Church after being Protestant since I was a teenager. I was baptized and had first Communion when I was a child, though I was never confirmed. But to receive the Eucharist, I need to go to Confession and I just am having a hard time with that because I'm not really sure how to go back to the confessional after 50 years. I remember being really afraid of it when I was a child. I know I need to call the parish office and set up a meeting with a priest but I just haven't been able to get myself to do it. I am really going to try to do it this week.

As GK Chesterton said almost 100 years ago, the Catholic Church is subject to hundreds of mutually contradictory criticisms, which makes any thoughtful person consider, how can anything be wrong if the supposed reasons it's wrong cancel each other out? Wouldn't one then start to consider that this much attacked thing, is actually the RIGHT thing?

I was Episcopalian for years. I was lied to. They told me that "The Episcopal Church is both fully protestant and fully catholic." What a bunch of hooey. It's just another form of Protestantism with a pretend apostolic succession. All Protestantism is reconstructionism. I finally found my seriousness and my sincerity, and decided to study church history for myself. Anyone who is willing to really study church history from non prejudicial perspective, will quickly come to the same conclusion you have. As to fearing the results of submission, whether we can "make it" or not, it is the Holy Spirit we need to trust, and not our own very broken and inadequate capacities. God Bless you sir for putting your finger on the very arrogance and mistrust that keeps us each to our own willful ways. It's the story of the Garden, over and over again, until we trust the Lord's promise that He would be with his Church, always.

Lots of tears have flowed, lots of guilt and even grief. But in the end it's worth it because He is with me and every time I pray or attend church, I can feel the unity with Him and with others in the church. I have more difficult disagreements and questions from others coming, but I know I'm on the path that I should have been all along. Great video!

My experience with the dynamics of conversion has been that a convert FROM Catholicism to a Protestant denomination experiences relief and a sense of freedom. The conversion almost always involves a pursuit of personal convenience, thus a rebellion against the palpable inconvenience of living a Catholic life. A realignment with the "spirit of the age," as Bergoglio would have it. This includes the inability to come to the (inconvenient) defense of the faith in the light of the current cycle of corruption in the Catholic Church (roughly over the last 70 to 100 years). Converts TO Catholicism, including you, Keith, and me, experience great fear. We take the conversion very seriously, in my case almost to the point of abandoning the almost impossible personal task of accepting the disorientation, the seismic changes that accompany moving over to what secularists and lukewarm Christians regard as "the losing side." Having been a Catholic now for 15 years, when Protestants and non-Christians ask me how can I possibly tolerate "all that corruption," that disgusting sexual predation in the CC, I say it's actually what persuades me to never abandon the Church, certainly not in her time of perhaps deepest crisis. As a great general once said, when asked how one could keep his composure, his ability to think tactically in the middle of the chaotic hell of battle, replied "It's simple; one rides to(ward) the sound of the guns."

The Catholic Church IF what the PROTESTants say is TRUE that a MERE man named Constantine founded the Catholic Church. Then the Catholic Church would have CRUMBLED and COLLAPSED a long time ago, with WICKED and EVIL Popes like Pope Boniface the VIII, Pope Alexander the VI or Pope Borgia etc. If the Church was just a HUMAN Institution then it would've COLLAPSED a long time ago.

It' s God's grace that lead you to conversion and the same grace will sustain you in the faith. I think not only protestants are held back to become Catholic because of the reasons you summed up. It's good to hear someone like you explain so clearly and so honestly that it is not an easy path because I think a lot of cradle Catholics struggle with the very same issues especially young people. We have to pray that God's grace will eventually lead them to fully embrace their faith. It's like a beautiful present that you receive with baptism and then decide to put it on a shelf because you get distracted by other "pretty" things. But once you open up your present you start to appreciate this treasure that has been in your possession all this time and you realize you don't need anything else.

I'm not sure if I was ever afraid of becoming Catholic. Actually I think deep down I always wanted to be Catholic. But I thought I couldn't. Let me explain. My mom was divorced when my dad married her. She was Baptist and Dad was Catholic. When I was born, I was baptized as a Catholic. Then something was said that Dad understood it to mean he was excommunicated. So all my life, I thought if you're divorced or married a divorced person, you couldn't become Catholic. I had considered becoming Catholic after high school but I wasn't afraid of being Catholic but afraid of doing it alone, not knowing anyone so I stayed Presbyterian. I remember a Baptist pastor made me feel worthless when I told him I had been baptized Catholic which upset me and I vowed never to be Baptist. In 1992, I married a divorced woman myself. It wasn't until last year when Catholic was on my mind. I discovered the Presbyterian Church was pro-choice and left because of it. The only church I considered after was the Catholic Church. I remember mentioning this on a pro-life group on Facebook and everyone was telling me to be PCA Presbyterian or Episcopalian or anything but Catholic, they said Catholicism was a cult which I already knew to be a lie. I spent about one month away from any church devoting my time to prayer and study of Catholicism. After that month, I had already signed up for RCIA and started attending mass. I found out how much Catholics are hated once I mention my faith on social media. The Holy Spirit has given me strength to overcome their hate. Thank you Keith for all the great videos! I love you brother!

God Bless You Keith!! There are so many reasons why so many have left the church and refuse to return. I am convinced that those who have recieved the sacraments but still turn away don't believe in the "true presence" of the Holy Eucharist. We/I believe because Jesus said so. I remember the first time I heard my parent's say that it's not easy being Catholic. The challenge is in the change that Jesus asks of us. We're either ready to believe Him or nothing changes. Fr. Mike Schmidtz once said," that when we ask Jesus for anything at all we should ask ourselves if we are ready for the change a miracle requires". I love it! I love and pray for you and your family too. 🙏💙.

Martin Luther left the Catholic Church and started up a new one with new doctrines and a new Bible. Why did anyone believe he acted on Gods behalf? Was he a great miracle worker? Is what the pope doing in regards to uniting all faiths, like he's about to sign in September, is that biblical? The Catholic Church says that Muslims believe in the same God as the church, that they are brothers in the faith, is that biblical? Didn't Jesus say, that He is the only way to the Father, and yet the Muslims deny that God had a Son. What about purgatory? Do we atone for our sins in purgatory? Where is purgatory explained in the Bible? What about paying indulgences for the remittance of sin? That was official church doctrine up until not too long ago. Or Mary or any other "saint" for that matter a mediator for us, is that biblical? Isn't Jesus our mediator in heaven, constantly interceding for us before the Father? How about calling any man a "father", Jesus said to call no man Father except God? Do we really need a priest to confess our sins to? Doesn't the book of Hebrews tell us that we are all priests before God and Jesus is the high priest?

It’s not something the Pope said it was what a council voted on. It is subject to change. It’s called VATICAN II and any devout Catholic hates it. It’s in the same council that it said that Protestants are our brothers and sisters in Christ. ( but some sects don’t see us as Christians at all) As for your disagreements with church traditions. My family came from a mix of diff "faiths" to become Catholic. I am still studying my faith but I notice the level of hate to Mary by diff groups. Many non catholics hate her even destroy pic of her, satanist hate her and do the same. It's odd how so many diff groups have one thing in common. I think this general hate come from the lover of hate, the bible says :I will put enmities between thee and the woman, and thy seed and her seed: she shall crush thy head, and thou shalt lie in wait for her heel.

Method12321 no the correct translation is the 400ad Latin vulgate (Douay Rheims) which is “she shall crush thy head, and thou shalt lie in wait for her heel.” All other Bible is taken from the 1500s Greek New Testament Bible, which is so far off from 33AD. Gen 3:15 & Rev 12 correlates to each other. As you can see in Rev 12, the devil is enraged against Mary, the one who gives birth to the man child-who rules all nations. The devil’s attempt always failed w her- she never sinned, nor had Adams sin (gen 3:15 enmity btw the woman and the serpent), so he goes after her children- who hold the commandments and testimony of Jesus. God uses His little humble handmaid, The Blessed Virgin Mary, to put Satan to shame. Her humility is what Satan could never be.

Method12321 she never sinned, not born with Adams sin gen 3:15. God saved her from Adams sin new wine cannot be poured into old wine skin. She is the New Ark of the New covenant carrying inside her womb Jesus(the Law, shepherd,& bread of life)- that’s called typology, ie Jesus New Adam- she the New Eve(sinless, this is all spiritual sense). she was born wo adam’s sin. “Enmity between the woman and the serpent.” No one said she was divine. God exalted her .. as He does/did with His apostles- He shares His divinity - that is why they were able to work miracles and exorcize. So she being the Queen (rev12) & God’s mother, who was the first to accept Christ - He, of course, would share His divinity with her.. John 1:10 - Jesus sinned too? He was both fully human and divine. The Bible also states the “no one searches for God.” Not every word is all inclusive. Jesus and the apostles used the Septuagint, which was Hebrew “Bible” translated into Greek (which the RCC also uses for their OT books). All of which is contained & verified in the Dead Sea scrolls. (Protestants have an incomplete numbers of books bc they rather listen/copy the Jews, who denied Christ as the Messiah. Protestants used what is, I believe called the Palestinian canon from 100AD- not what Jesus & apostles used.) The Latin Vulgate 400AD was the first to translate OT & NT into one common language as there were many different Greek slang/dialect being passed. St Jerome’s Latin Vulgate was used & approved by the Church for centuries. The Greek New Testament was not.. although some claim that Erasmus was approved to start it, which doesn’t make sense bc the Church already had used the Vulgate for centuries before. In the end, the Greek NT was never approved - Erasmus got messy in his translation. This translation is what Luther used for his German Bible, which other Protestants used as their translation too.
