For sure this is an art. I was questioning which paint to go with because I was having difficulties with smells. This sounds like I might want to try Annie Sloan because of you and your videos. Love your work.

Glad it was helpful! Andrea, go with the paint that has a low VOC which is a low smell and environmental impact, just check the labels for all brands near to to choose the right one for you. In my experience they are all good brands. ❤️🙏🎨

This made me cry 🥲 You’re a couple of years ahead of me on my creator journey and I’ve been on your channel almost from the beginning. Fantastic! Teaching always teaches you so much about yourself and is an awesome experience. You and Kacha gave me the courage to paint my head board and I love it. I’m also going to a buffet and 2 dressers. I used to think painting had to be perfect and you both taught me that distressing and blending is beautiful. I’m better at that than a perfect job and is more fun. Art comes from the heart and soul and after being crafty since the 80s, I’m finally starting to think of calling myself an artist.

Why are tears misting my eyes? Because I feel the intimacy of friendship, even with those I have not met. You and Kacha were the first artists I was drawn to as I began painting furniture in my 70s. I so appreciate both you and Kasha. You both inspire me. I haven’t tried painting a piece using the paint techniques you demonstrate on your channel yet but I do plan on starting some small pieces this spring. I live in Manitoba and I don’t have a heated garage or basement so I have to wait for warmer temperatures, lol. I did a couple end tables last summer and even took the tops of a set and made new legs and a self. Then I stained the top and painted the legs. I want to try blending and stencils this spring/summer season…maybe even some gold leaf. I would love to come to a workshop on Vancouver Island if you ever get the idea to do something closer to your home. That you for being you ❤

A trip like that is once in a lifetime and one to treasure always. I really like the this piece and the soothing neutral earth tones. The simplicity of the piece and the technique finish you did are so good for each other.
