@@isearia9348 Yes, this is just purely a quality comparison. Even the S22 Ultra takes photos slowly compared to the 13 Pro, which throws me off when taking photos. I'm sure the iPhone will have good camera upgrades next gen but Samsung will surely follow. Technology is constantly improving so these comparisons are just to see how far we've come as a whole. If I can turn off the over-sharpening processing and leave every else on the I'm sure iPhone will win almost all phone cameras.

Well the improvement is only really visible, when zooming in, but usually you shoot photos in a way, where you dont need to zoom in afterwards. The high megapixel count actually even has a big disadvantage, when it comes to recording video. In order to be able to capture all the light that hits your sensor, you have to scan the whole 200MP sensor and then scale it down at a very high framerate, which needs processing power. This significantly increases battery drain. The other possibility would be to just not scan every pixel and the brighten up the video differently, which will introduce more noise.

Finally someone who actually uses 200MP and compares the differences on situations where 200MP performs better than other photos, rather than just exclude it. People say who zooms in at X times. I do and the level of detail from a small device like this is helpful to know. I do have a DSLR and mirrorless camera but I do certainly wish someday smartphones or professional cameras become more portable and lightweight, yet still produce excellent cinema quality. I ain't expecting box office winning oscars but enough to be practical and feasible in all professional users use-case. Wishful thinking indeed

Funny thing is the 12MP or any 12MP doesn't need overkill sharpening. If you need to zoom on or have the resolution do so but the issue is Samsung processing images like they're sensors from 6 years ago. They sinoky don't need it along with a unnecessary MP count. I'm actualy yet to be convinced as to how useful this is when most have barely 4k screen on phones and TVs outside of a marginal range of Samsung and LG TVs have 8k. I'd much rather them work on larger image sensors and subsequently have larger pixels to capture light, not rely on a crappy system to simulate them with software. It's just redundant and dynamic range matters more than simply being able to zoom on on things and see details that I'm convinced nobody does without intentionally zooming in at something interesting, which the phone can do. Don't get me wrong, cool in theory, but annoying if it comes at the detriment of everything else (as it historically has done) and requires and unnecessary amount of power to rectify, regardless of how obvious it may be in the final result. I'm still not a fan of Samsung images processing, especially their habit of lightening skin tones unnecessarily while boosting primary colors causing color bleed.

Samsung's 200MP Camera is ironically not the same as real 200MP Camera. As a result of comparing with the iPhone's 48MP, surprisingly, the iPhone came out with a clearer picture. It's a true story.

I'm using a Note 20 Ultra just turned 24 months old and I made the last payment on the contract. It is still a fantastic phone so I'm going to enjoy a year or two of cheap phone use. I'll wait until the S24 comes out.

You can't get enough light in that 200 mp camera, still amazing Mp count is just a number, a 12 mp camera will always do a better job than a 50, 100, 200 mp phone camera. Post processing in a phone also plays a big role in making it look good Also the 200 mp photo will occupy a whole lot of storage But as a s22 user, I only use the 12 mp mode, the standard one, but when you zoom in you see the difference of the details

23 ultra owner here. Yes the 200MP camera works well. Takes a little time to process the image but can only think to use this mode if there is a photo you absolutely need to enlarge. Otherwise, you're just taking super large file size photos.

the reason I have came through is like apple uses Sony's cameras which has high quality in color binding, and accuracy. Where Android uses cheaper cameras thereby needing to improve thier MP a lot

The 200mp sensor on s23 ultra is great, but as it's still a phone it can't be very large like proffessional cameras. It therefore cannot take full advantage if a the pixels because the sensor is simply to small to let light give information to every one of them.

That 200mp is software dependent and not possible to squeeze all that power in a very small sensor. In my perception I see that the 12mp or even the 48mp cameras are even sharper (software) but shows you not having more megapixels is the answer. It’s the photographer that makes the picture tell a story. The new iPhone 15 pro/ultra is said to have newer designed Carl zeiss lens. The same ones that Sony uses but of course no comparison to a full frame dslr 📷

I've had the latest iPhones and one plus years ago and after the switch to my current Samsung s10, it's just the best mobile experience I've had even after 2 years of owning it, kind of missing a larger screen but I don't know if an s23 ultra is to my preference, (don't like the pen and the shape) I wished that the s23 plus would have the curve screen like the s10 plus, would have gotten it in a heartbeat. They are around the same price as iphones now too and I also considered the iPhone 14 but it would be pretty hard to switch systems at this point

Megapixel doesn't really make a difference unless you need to zoom in. Dynamic range and colors is what you should look for.

I’m definitely really good with my S22 Ultra, Pixel 7 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Even if I didn’t own 3 phones already, there’s really no need to get the S23 Ultra if you already own a S22 Ultra unless you’re really into Photography on a Phone that much. Even if you are though, just get a really good camera which could probably even be better than any smartphone camera.

I just got s22ultra, the 100x is really fun to play and stalk neighbours with 😆, I only wish android would have as much mobility in setting as it use to were in "olden days" let's say it really feels like we're reaching the middle ground with both sides of platforms

Remember before buying: 200MP does mean more pixels are in the photo. However if the lighting is not adequate, it just means you have more pixels but no detail, making the image look slightly worse than the already optimised 12MP mode that the phone defaults to.

the 200mp delp with getting an accurate jevel of light in the photos. they downscale it and treat each 4x4 grid of pixels as 1 and take the average to make it less grainy and washed out. so actually, the 200mp fixes most of the lighting issue

Yes please Samsung keep your photos and videos quality as close as natural colour. Even though it's annoying to edit before posting but I prefer that way. So I didn't have blown up colour without even trying
