Finally, a company with a rinseless wash recommending a pre-wash! The world catches up.
@SuperchargedLlamaАй бұрын
Exactly! EXACTLY! It was a real relief to see that now as it's the proper way of doing it safely. Maybe not so relevant in parts of the US where it's just dusty, but in the UK it makes such a massive difference.

@@SuperchargedLlama Is it a rinseless wash then if you've just rinsed with the PW?! Though I agree with the point in terms of a safe wash as belt and braces but would probably not be required in the summer months, even here in the UK.
@SuperchargedLlamaАй бұрын
@@gsmautomotive absolutely correct. It's rinseless when the conditions are correct - it would be perfect for a summer wash, but the rinseless bit really only applies to the bit after you apply the product (in my mind anyway), so you just dry it from that point without rinsing off the shampoo. No one ever said you didn't need to do a pre-wash. That's a common misconception in my mind, but that's highly subjective.
@gsmautomotiveАй бұрын
@@SuperchargedLlama yes agree mate, totally subjective as I’d say a rinseless product should mean you can just wash and go with no pre wash etc required
@roscopervisАй бұрын
@@gsmautomotive the rinseless wash is not replacing the whole process, it’s replacing the mitt with the suds and the shampoo part. So instead of rinsing off the suds, you don’t have to. If you would just wash a car with car shampoo, without doing a pre-wash, then go for it. In my mind, it’s replacing that specific element.

I’ve tried many rinsless wash brands including DIY detail , I then went back to using GT one shampoo . I then recently purchased GT one rinseless and it’s definitely the best I’ve used to date . My method : Pre rinse with bilt hamber touchless ( destroys all dirt and brake dust amazingly) Pressure wash off BH touchless Then one bucket with 10L and 3 caps of GT rinseless . Last - use infinity wax quick detailer as drying aid Result - amazing gloss and shine all wrapped up in 40 minutes. After using bilt hammer in a IK sprayer and pressure washing that off my drying towel at the end is still completely clean.

You've round the same as me then, which is a great. I used Koch Chemie Vb here as it was so dirty, so I needed something more potent than Touch-Less. My standard wash foam has been GT snow V2 for the last year and I've enjoyed that a lot, it's very similar to Touch-Less and performs about the same, although it's actually a bit tougher on road grim than Touch-Less is.

Adding a full prewash does, sort of puts me off, I think, do i think.... ive no idea now 😂😂
@SuperchargedLlamaАй бұрын
Thanks as always dude! I do completely understand where you're coming from; if you're doing a Rinseless wash, one of the perks is you don't have to get the pressure washer out, right? So this seems counter intuitive (and it probably is), but at the same time it is a way of using less water when washing a dirty car I guess (in terms of needing a pre-wash). I have to say that in the summer I still usually pre-wash, but I might just use the Rinseless as the cleaning agent, rather than a foam.

You are correct regarding Feynlab. I did a rinseless wash yesterday with Feynlab V3 - my Big Red Sponge had some black stains. After the wash, rinsed out the sponge and sprayer. After a few hours, noticed that the Big Red Sponge had it's red color back. No black stains. All gone!!

I use a rinseless occasionally. Typically when dirt level low and I want a quick wash without getting too much kit out. First impressions were your use of rinseless after pre-washing with a pressure washer was a bit lost on me, it conflicts with when i would use it. But I think I will have to give this approach a go and see what I think in practice. Having dwelled on it (see what i did), it is still adding efficiency and is opening the potential to use more frequently due to inclusion of the pre-wash.
@SuperchargedLlama25 күн бұрын
You're absolutely right in your use case, that's how I typically use a Rinseless wash myself. This car was too dirty to do that with, but a good place to demonstrate it none the less. I used to have a water tank in the van (being a mobile detailer) and I found that even if I pre-washed with a foam, I used so much less water overall if I used a Rinseless for the wash process, which is a usecase that isn't talked about that often.

I think there's a misconception with rinseless. It replaces contact wash shampoo, not the prerinse as well. Yes one can do a rinseless wash without prerinse but unless the vehicle has a light layer of contamination it's best to do a prewash even if it's just a hose down to remove larger contaminates. Bilt Hambler Touchless or foam is a perfect compliment. Get a cheap garden pump sprayer and you're all set👍.
@SuperchargedLlama16 күн бұрын
I agree with you whole heartedly there. The Rinseless bit only applies to the contact wash stage, but there's so much content out there showing that you do it the whole way from the pre-wash (not that the bulk of Americans really don't really do much pre-wash apart from rinsing). The car I demonstrated with here definitely needed more than Touch-Less as it was so dirty and engrained; Vb or Garage Therapy Decon Shampoo were perfect for the pre-wash (and actually would have been the ideal contact wash product too, but the Rinseless worked well enough). Touch-Less is brilliant though, isn't it?

Great video even with the lass in the background! Just off tangent, you mentioned washing microfibres (?) at 60 degrees with the chosen wash, however, manufactures of microfibres recommend below, generally 40 degrees. So who is correct, the wash manufacturer or the microfibre manufacturer?
@SuperchargedLlamaАй бұрын
This is the correct question to be asking! And I've just gone back and looked at my new container of Microfibre Refresh - this says wash on Warm and tumble dry on low. Now I wonder if I misremembered the old bottle I had of whether I just experimented around and found now ill side effects from washing at 60...not too sure. I generally wash the cloths on 40, and with malco that works fine, but with other detergents I had to up the heat to get the cleaning action. BUT, again, with the spray sealants in the cloths I've found that I really need to wash hot in order to shift them out in one go, but it does also help that the Malco detergent is very good. And as I read that, I think my answer is clear as mud! What I would say is that I follow manufactures guidelines with clothes, so I'd be inclined to follow it with cloths as well...whilst also knowing that I get the best results with the malco detergent.

@SuperchargedLlamaАй бұрын
The Garage Therapy. They're very close, but the fragrance of the GT is nicer to my nose and for interior work that is important. The Feynlab is marginally more streaky on glass too, although it's by a minute amount, next to impossible to really tell (compared to the Feynlab V1, which was terrible for it).

@@SuperchargedLlama Thank you so much for the reply. The streaking was going to be another question I had. Nice video man, it looks like a good product. I think forensics is doing his shootout currently, I did ask him about the lack of GT, seems they are still blacklisted which is a shame as it would have been good to see where it would line up. I'd hoped after time they might appear on his channel again but it seems not. Annoyingly(?), I have 5L of rinseless by Bouncers to use up which will take me an absolute age but after that I'll probably try GT. I've only done one rinseless wash so far but it was good, need to do more. Reason for going Bouncers was small company, british, formulated and made in house. GT fits that bill apart from them making their own stuff I think (unless that's since changed) so it ticks my boxes. The way you approached this Mini. What would have happened if you pre-sprayed with rinseless, let it sit and then went in with the sponge? Is it not strong enough to do that? Scenario would be I'm doing a rinseless so want the ease of not pulling out the PW and connecting it all up etc. Is that outside the realms of what the rinseless can do? I'll look into the rinseless sponges again, I think you commented on my post on DW yesterday about the aliexpress ones ;) (even though it was about autofoam vs touchless ha!). I wondered if the sponge material would be the same as the genuine ones, as the prices are quite frankly ridiculous and don't want to be spending that on a sponge...! For now I'll just use my regular microfibre wash pad/mitt. One for GT : maybe you can get them to put it in the feynlab style bottle for easier measurement? Finally, did you ever get more time with the DA9 to make a video on it? Starting to look at getting my first polisher. Look forward to the next vid, thanks
@SuperchargedLlamaАй бұрын
I didn't know that GT was sort of blacklisted on forensic, but I did wonder why it was missing. What happened there? You've asked a good question with regards to just using Rinseless to clean that mini. You definitely could have, but the risk of marring would have been significantly higher, so it wouldn't have been a safe wash. If it had just been cleaned the week before then yeah sure (and it hadn't gotten super muddy or anything). With super dirty things I think you'd be double washing too, but being realistic, yes it's probably outside of what a Rinseless could do safely, regardless of that video that TRC did with ONR. On the topic of sponges, I was really tempted myself to get one those Ali express sponges to check. I think I might still do it tbh because £30 for a sponge IS stupid.
@AM4N18Ай бұрын
@@SuperchargedLlamaUnfortunately so. I don't have all the details but it was all related to that snow foam video and the fallout afterwards I believe, he was really not pleased with GT but not sure exactly why. I think in one of his unofficial videos after he said he won't be reviewing them anymore as he really didn't like their response in the comments but I can see it now and seems civil to me 🤷♂. I thought it might be temporary but its still in effect, notice how there hasn't been any GT products on his channel for a long time? Because of that. A shame as he does the big comparison tests. I know of the TRC video you mention, I watched it and I really hate how they don't tell the whole story so much of the time as it misleads me into thinking it can do a lot more than reality. Ok, so there is a limit then that I need to be careful of. So, in the winter I should definitely make use of a pre-wash step and in the summer a pre-soak should be sufficient? @SuperchargedLlamaАй бұрын
Yes I can see how I've potentially confused matters here. Fundamentally I'd say Rinseless wash is best used in the summer when you're cleaning a lightly dusty car (it's a popular method in the US). In this scenario you'd spray on (from the pump sprayer) the Rinseless wash, and then take your sponge/mitt from the bucket of Rinseless and clean the panel, then you'd dry it with a QD as the drying aid. So you could wash a lightly dirty car with about 20L of water...as opposed to 200L or something when you're doing a full car with pre-wash foam + rinse + shampoo + rinse. And it does it safely too, much safer than just spraying a QD on and wiping the dust away. (When I say "safer", I mean there's less chance of scratching the paint). In the scenario I've demonstrated in this video then it's really about using less water I guess, but the car was too dirty to safely Rinseless wash, so I needed to pre-wash it.
