You cannot oppress and "change" your sexuality. It's not something humans can control.. I personally don't believe the people who say they "changed" were actually truthful.. Either they're oppressing themselves on a daily basis in order to follow their religion, or they're oppressing themselves because they want to avoid being in the minority. I believe the survivor who spoke and said he "changed" is lying because he went through a traumatic event and almost died because of who he is.. "was". That caused him to rethink his life making the terrible choice of "changing" to avoid the possibility of ever going through tramautic events because of who he is/"was".

I am going through conversion therapy right now in Canada and I agree no one should be forced into it and that in the past the practices were barbaric. But I have met people who are going to the same psychologist that I am and none of us are being tortured or faced coercion, half of us are not even religious. For myself just didn't want to be that way, especially after I experienced first hand how toxic, malicious and hateful the lgbt and pride communities actually are, especially if you have any, however slight, differing views or beliefs. So I sought out help and even though where I live it's banned I found a psychologist who was willing to help, risking his license to help someone in need, where all other psychologists and therapists ignored my pleas of helping me and kept saying that "I need to stop acting straight" and "embrace who I am" even though I had already saw a psychologist a few years ago to do that and all it did was make my feelings worse and caused me more psychological pain. But my new psychologist said that he was never gonna push me towards anything I don't wanna be and would never force me to do anything I didn't wanna do, he also said that the chance of me actually changing my sexuality is low and that I may never change but he would help me control the feelings and live the life I wanna live, he used the analogy of I'm driving the car and deciding on the destination, he is just trying to help me navigate. Now I am living a life where I am far happier then I have ever been, even in these hard times.

Just because the sessions are passive and not physically attacking the LGBTQ patients doesn't mean it's not still conversion therapy, at the end of the day it's still attempting to change someone's sexuality which is homophobic.

This coverage is not accurate. It is not about conversion therapy. It was about individuals who had a life changing spiritual life experience with the person of Jesus Christ in their hearts. Again NOT conversion therapy. The heart becomes one with Christ and the change comes from the inside out. As with ALL who encounter Christ whatever condition we meet Him in - we individually change. These people who are speaking here are giving their personal experience in this. They are NOT advocating for “therapy”. They are saying that the door to choose freely should be open in a free country. Not forced therapy and not limited lifestyle choices if individuals are going through change that takes them outside of their prior lifestyle. It is sad that MSM paints a one sided take as if their views on the experiences of others must fit MSM framing of reality. In other words you are what we say about you. Man I left that behind in the small town I grew up in years ago. Labels only pin people down and prevent true growth.

People can do what they do want as long as it doesn’t harm people but these people literally run an organization based on forcing people to convert to heterosexuality and these practices have been disproved many many times.

@Maestro Dan If you don't want to escape a life of sin, that's your choice, and God will honor it. But God will also judge you for that choice at the end of time when you leave this world.

@@VicGeorge2K6 You’re playing games. Plenty of faithful Christians don’t feel the compulsion to deny their sexuality and “change” to appease your sick peeping-Tom mentality. I’m not going to go over those six verses with you (again) but I can definitively say that your claims to deny my sexuality is not the end all be all Christian position. You have to get over it if you want dialogue. If you don’t, we’ll simply raise your children in gay churches when inevitably throw them out of your home.

Conversion therapy does not practice lobitomies, shock torture, and abuse. That is torture. The Changed movement is about preserving conversion therapy, as in counseling, not torture. People who do not want to be gay go to conversion therapy. No one forces them.
@elliefuller36673 жыл бұрын
Conversion therapy is conversion therapy. If they aren’t using electroshock therapy or lobotomies, they are emotionally and mentally manipulating you. Can’t change your sexuality, period. It’s as futile as trying to change your hair texture or your eye color.

Conversion therapy is not a fraudulent form of therapy it is a religious practice. I agree that torture should not be used on anyone but this treatment should be made available to anyone that wants it.
