The whole start of the season has been compromised given the disparity in time between games, some have 5 day breaks, some have 3 games in 13 days and others don’t. Won’t get a proper feel where teams are for a few weeks yet.

Why dont ppl talk as much about man on the mark and that players cany defend properly when the player with the ball can run around that player and they have to wait on the reaction time of the ref before they can move. At no stage i believe that our shocking kicking goal and going to 50 was anyway acceptable, however there was moments in the gamewhere the umpires governed the result. The 50 metre awarded against Harry McKay was at best a failure of umpire Howlett (17) . I'm not saying he was biased or trying play favourites. I was sitting directly opposite that for mention, I listened to Laura Kane and it was stated that the umpire nominated Harry to stand the only words uttered was stand no nominated player was given. The other concern i and a lot of supporters from all clubs how can a player be blatantly be pushed in the back which even though the review of the mark by Henry, showed the blatant shove.in the back. I'd interested in your view these couple of examples.

Umpiring was about as good as you can expect and Carlton fans complaining about the 1-2 crappy decisions against them are ignoring the others that were for them. Even the stand rule, if you are in the contest, you need to stand, been like that for years.

Won the free kick count and could also point out countless times Geelong were robbed of certain goals and Carlton were gifted opportunities. Bad calls either way but umpiring did not impact the result, Carlton had to be better

I know its a big if but we hit the post 3 times, they hit it twice, they also snuck a couple in by inches. Not to mention a lot of dodgy frees that I will never understand went Geelongs way and they missed a hell of a lot of Carlton tackle frees. If Carlton kicked 18-12 and won the game they would be talking about how Carlton dismantled Geelong. The game was closer than the score suggested, I think we were stiff but will wear it. I know we can improve but can Geelong? I am not so sure.

The umpiring has been inconsistent and quite often in favour of one team all season so far. Carlton has benefitted from that in some games, but two wrongs don't make a right. I agree with your point that Geelong is unlikely to improve and last season they fell away considerably in the second half of the season. I think GWS still has considerable upside and is the team to beat.

"with the lists he's had" go talk to anyone who actually watches the Cats week in week out throughout that period and they'll gladly elaborate for you just how rubbish most of those lists truly were. That's what happens when you keep making finals, no top end talent is handed to you on a platter like it is to others. That's why even the current team is littered what random Irish imports, rookie and late draft picks, etc, and Chris is the one to continually turn them into excellent players and maximise their strengths. Most coaches outside of dynasty teams usually win 1 flag and then fade into obscurity, making the fact that Chris won another after 11 years so incredibly rare and special. Your attempted "critic" is laughable..
