Great conversation, but you should teach people about the difference between gender identity and gender role. Gender identity is NOT a social construct it’s how your brain is constructed. Gender ROLE is a social construct and that’s what your guest meant around minute 21:00. Saying gender is a social construct is considered false information and everyone knows how false information ruin progress. If you could create a whole episode about the difference between gender identity and role that would be splendid. Thanks!!!

Thanks for the suggestion! It seems like people define terms differently. I've heard various definitions of gender identity; it appears to be a philosophical concept. Ill see how I get on, thanks for watching

Language matters, these days anyone can claim to be queer. Whereas LGB is more straightforward; Homosexuality and bisexuality. It's a political thing, not all political lefts claim to be queer, but definitely no politically right winger would label themselves other than LGB(T). I think moderates barely would use queer terms, it's very left? I suppose a man who's queer would date trans people. Being with a transwoman then would be homosexual still, and being with a transman would make a "gay" man bisexual, as transmen are from the opposite sex. To claim this is transph0bic and bigoted to say, would be homoph0bic! Homosexuality is same sex attraction after all. Lesbians are fully in their right to reject trans identified males, lesbians don't have male bodies. Gay men don't have female bodies. That said, adults are free to medicalise themselves, free to label themselves, even as queer. As long as they respect others who don't follow the queer belief system!

"Gender is a social construct" sure, when we're talking about stereotypical ideas of women, then yes it's a social construct. But it's sad to see butch women and tomboys going with the they/them pronouns, as if being a bit more masculine makes you anything but a girl/woman. Again, a woman isn't a woman because of clothes, make up, behaving a certain way. And so a butch woman with short hair no makeup etc is not NOT a woman. And so a feminine (gay) guy is NOT a woman. When I think of "Gender is a social contstruct" and "Gender bending", I think of letting go of all these societal expectations BUT ALSO letting go of labels. Let's celebrate femme guys, tomboys, butch etc etc. But just the way they are, the way that God created us! Gender non conforming people don't need a non binary identity. It's regressive still. Radical right doesn't get it, but neither does radical left!

Or... call me crazy, but we can all just be ourselves and accept that biological sex is nothing but biological sex, and there's no need to pigeonhole, let alone medicalise, people's personality. He's a man regardless of what he does to himself, and that can never change.
