Then I brought 2 SDA fundamental beliefs the 1972 and the current without telling them which one i choose . I then asked my children which is Bible based regardingwho is God. The young children pointed to the 1872 fundamental beliefs as biblical. And I asked how about this one ( the current sda fundamental beliefs)? children said without doubt it the current fundamental beliefs is false regarding who is God . Jesus said clearly in John 17:3 that Only God the Father is the ONLY TRUE GOD. Paul also said clearly in 1 Corinthians 8:5-6 that there is only One God which is The Father, and one Lord Jesus Christ - the Son of God, the Holy Spirit is the omnipresence of God which later given to His Son. Why do we have to introduce the term Godhead to justify our teachings. There is only one God who is the Father of all things. When Jesus taught his disciples about the Lords prayer, he said Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be your name etc. Emphasis in the Lord's prayer is to God the Father. So there is only one God, Jesus is the Son of God, Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. There is no where in the bible that says God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

However, the meaning of it from whence our doctrine emanates is supported by the word of God. In my own understanding, Trinity means that There is ONLY ONE GOD. Jesus had many opportunities to tell us clearly that the Holy Spirit in Him is God, actually to instruct to pray to the Holy Spirit, But He didn't. When I hear people say, “God is three persons.” it sounds like there are three separate Gods. Yes I know The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit have different jobs but I believe The Father is the spirit, Jesus Christ is the body, and The Holy Spirit is the breath of life. To explain it a little more so you can understand what in I’m trying to say is that, Jesus Christ didn’t have his own spirit like you and me do. The Father is the spirit of Jesus and The Father doesn’t have his own body, Jesus Christ is the body of The Father. Same thing with The Holy Spirit; The Holy Spirit does not have his own breath of life but HE is the breath of life of the God head. [The Father (spirit),Jesus Christ (body) and The Holy Spirit (breath of life)] This way of thinking of God makes what it is said in Genesis (let us make man in our image) very clear to me and still makes to God be seen as mono not three. COMMENTS ON DOUG BATCHELOR’S, "IS GOD ONE OR THREE?" Pastor Doug’s presentation made four main points: 1. Jesus always existed. 2. Jesus is fully equal with the Father. 3. The Holy Spirit is a unique person. 4. Mention is made of three distinct entities in certain benedictions and salutations. I would have addressed most of these points directly or indirectly in my previous post. But, for clarity, I will address each briefly as follows: 1. Jesus died and therefore did not always exist - “I am he that liveth, and was dead” (Rev. 1:18). 2. Jesus never claimed full equality with God, His Father, at any point in His existence. Before He came to earth, His Father anointed and appointed Him - “Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.” (Heb. 1:9; see also verse 2). While He was on earth, He said “my Father is greater than I” (John 14:28). After sin is finished, He will still be subject to His Father - “And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.” (1 Cor. 15:28). 3. There is no issue with the Holy Spirit being a unique person. The Holy Spirit, the Comforter, like the Angel of Revelation 18 who lightens the earth with his glory during the latter rain, is someone who is sent and acts on instruction - not a God-Being to be worshipped - “he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak” (John 16:13). 4. There is no issue with mention being made of three distinct entities. The issue is the relative position of each. The Father has no co-equal. He is the One that the Bible refers to when it says there is one God and none else. It is talking about Him as the only Supreme Being. There aren’t three supreme beings, only One. All other beings are subject to Him. Further, the third entity is not always one Holy Spirit but many, for example, “Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne” (Rev.1:4). These seven spirits are later described as “seven lamps of fire” (Rev. 4:5) and also as “the seven angels which stood before God” (Rev. 8:2). It is interesting how the Bible explains itself if we would only take the time to consider it - Jesus sent His angel, (the Spirit) to His bride (the church), and this is what He said, “I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. These are the same ones who were present at the creation - “Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? …. When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?” (Job 38:4-7). It is time we take stock of God’s warnings to His people about the omega of deadly heresies and stop promoting this doctrine of pagan origin, brought into Christianity by Rome but was rejected by the pioneers of the Advent Movement. It denies the most fundamental truth of the gospel that God loved us to the point of giving His only begotten Son to die for us, and not a fellow God who really cannot die, pretending to die.

Jesus commanded baptism 'IN THE NAME OF'! Jesus did not command His disciples to repeat the words He spoke to them, when they baptized someone! He commanded them to baptize 'IN THE NAME OF"! Thus, the Father has a name, the Son has a name, and the Holy Ghost has a name! READ MATTHEW 28:19 after you pray about it! Don't fall back on your Trinitarian upbringing! Rely on your own common sense! Do you understand the English language? Can you speak it well? When you read English, do you understand what you are reading? God says that there is no other savior beside HIM! "But God didn't die on the cross", you ask, "so how can God be our savior? After all, God cannot die!" Let's look at what 1 John 3:16 says: (1 John 3:16) "Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren." In this verse, it is clear that God LAID DOWN HIS LIFE, for US! Oh, but let's dig a little deeper, shall we!?! In YOUR translation, it has the name of Jesus Christ inserted into it! There are many translations of God's word, but the only one that we have which is the closest to the original scrolls is the good old King James Bible! Why do most corrupt translations have the name of Jesus Christ inserted into them by the authors and translators? Because they mis-quote the bible at every turn! Let's read John 3:16: (John 3:16) "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Does this mean that God has a split personality? Three PERSONS living in one body? Well, that's the Trinity Doctrine for you! Three persons in one God! REDICULOUS! If your Bible, in 1 John 3:16, has the name of Jesus Christ inserted into it, you own a corrupt piece of work! Now let's read 1 Timothy 3:16: (1 Timothy 3:16) "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory." It clearly states that GOD, not Jesus, but GOD, was MANIFEST in the flesh! Let's look at the word, MANIFEST: From Websters Dictionary: readily perceived by the senses and especially by the sense of sight READILY PERCEIVED: regarded in a specified way -used to say how something or someone is seen or thought of SEEN or thought of! How interesting! Even the Webster's Dictionary Contradicts the Trinity Doctrine! Now, let's go to the HEART of the discussion: Matthew 28:19 (Matthew 28:19) "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:" Let's pay CLOSE attention to what Jesus said! "....baptizing them in the name of the Father...." Thus, the Father has a name! Notice that there is a coma after the title Father, signifying that there is a separation between the word Father and Son! Most churches, when they baptize someone, the pastor repeats the commandment that Jesus gave to His Disciples, instead of DOING what Jesus commanded! Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Did Peter disobey Jesus' commandment? Not at all! He obeyed and DID what Jesus commanded Him! He baptized people in the precious name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of sins! The Titles Father, Son, Holy Ghost, carry no power to wash away sins! Only the name of Jesus Christ spoken over you at baptism will your sins be washed away! There is redemption in the name of Jesus! There is power in the name of Jesus! There is salvation ONLY in the name of Jesus Christ! You cannot be baptized in the titles Father, Son and Holy Ghost, and expect your sins to be washed away! All you did is get wet!

this brings me no pleasure to say this but Elohim isn't plural because God is a plurality of persons the preacher is right It is used 2700 times in the Jewish Scriptures however it is plural because sometimes it talks about "gods" collectively .. so the word for God is Elohim and the word for gods is elohim, kind of like the way we use the word fish in English whether we're talking about one or more than one it's still fish... you can look in 1 Kings 11 for a great example you'll find the word "God" "gods" "god" all three of these whether it's talking about Yahweh the god of Israel, a pagan god or gods collectively it's all one word in Hebrew Elohim.. in Psalm 8: 5 angels are called Elohim we're not going to find the Trinity in the word Eloheim.. in first King's 11: 33 we have three gods named that are over the nations identified individually as a god of this or that nation, And they are called Elohim singularly... are they therefore triune in their nature? I mean that is an honest question to ask... in Psalm 136: 2 yahweh is said to be the God of gods both of these are the same word Elohim.... this isn't me trying to prove anybody right or wrong This is just how the scriptures use the word Eloheim.... Of course there are 3 but, the Trinity doctrine states that they are co-equal which contradicts scripture. John14:28 Jesus answers the trinitarians by saying the Father is greater than he. I go back and forth with ones and trinitarianism. But I think this video is not a good argument for the oneness concept. I don’t think the teacher here is purposefully giving a straw man, but it is effectively straw manning what oneness means, in its best argument. If God were singular, then God would be non-plural. In other words if ONE (all caps for this notion) then not many. If not many, then this ONE, The ONE, has no parts, for parts are many. And since parts are relative or in some relation to a whole, then The ONE is neither whole nor part…(the ONE transcends both). Again, if no parts, then no beginning, middle or end, for these are parts of any thing. And if no beginning nor end, then there are no boundaries or limits to the ONE..thus the ONE is unlimited. And if the ONE has no limits, no boundaries, then it has no shape. And since the ONE has no parts, it doesn’t depend on parts for what it is. Therefore it is independent. And if independent, it is not what it is relative to nor in context with anything else. We can gather so far that the ONE isn’t part nor whole, not limited, not a shape, independent or not dependent, and so not relative or contextual but is absolute and universal. I can go on, but it’s not a trivial matter as to why a person would think that the ONE is God. now a problem I came across, because I believe that there is a trinity still, is if God is ONE, how does God create? Because if God is a cause then to be a cause, the cause would depend on there being effects for the cause to be a cause. It’s a co-dependent or mutually arising relation. You might say that the cause is greater and id agree, but there’s still that relation of co-dependency that I couldn’t think out of. Well, John 1: 1-3 tells us that the word created. So, was not Jesus the logos who created and not father God? The only way I can think it is that Jesus is somehow the Shadow of the Father, just as a tree’s shadow is not the he tree nor is the tree the shadow. But that the superiority of the tree is such that the shadow does nothing that the tree doesn’t do. And so, the shadow is always there with the tree, co-relating with it, but not it, but also in some kind of submission to it. Now, these are just ideas. Idk if it’s true. But I can’t just dismiss the idea of the ONE. And the trinity I think works too. The point is I don’t think oneness can be dismissed this easily.
