Hearing you speak about how the barricade could intentionally have been scaled up just to make it harder to place makes so much sense. Recently ive been getting absolutely destroyed with invalid placement too. I’ll def give the goo nade a try. Never even considered it before

This is the best video I have watched on goo nade and goo itself. Goo has been used for funsies for a while now. I remember being matched with someone who uses it yesterday. I remember dying and watching his POV and being surprised he has a goo nade. It fascinates me more how he uses it to get around, stop cashouts, etc. Like dang, with the nerf of the dome shield, goos are the alternatives.

I've always found the standard Heal Beam - AKM - Goo Grenade - Jump Pad - Defibrillator loadout to be the core of what Medium build is - a support with a trusty primary on hand. It's the very first build every player is introduced to on installing the Finals and playing it for the first time for good reason. Every part of the kit is generally applicable, each piece synergizes with the others, and with creative thinking you can find a way to use the jump pad and goo grenade to approach almost any situation.

Also goo can hold you up in very strange and high angles that can catch a team off guard on a push specifically in horizon, not to mention you can put jumpad on goo, break it off and launch a cash out

I see more people using goo. I like to think that flashes are good but I'd like to see a change to them in some capacity. I usually run them on Medium if I don't need to take Zip and Jumppad.

Medium main-ish. Ever since the APS nerf I've been running goo. I love it, if they took a gadget slot away, I'd give up my frags instead of goo. You can use it for movement, controlling a cashout, cover, locking up opponents, moving the cashout. So versatile. As a solo queuer, I find added value in being able to plant it in front of my teammates before they solo push a prepped cashout with half health. Gives them a second to rethink things...

Ok mgl mains (so also me) would love this: You can throw a goo grenade over any hallway or door passage or pretty much anything with a somewhat low cieling. When thrown, the goo wall must leave a gap between itself and the roof. The gap should be small enough for a player not to be able to climb through it. And just lob grenades in that gap - most times its an easy teamkill and even if you kill 1/2 players it becomes imposssible for the 3rd player to revive them. Anderstown TAKE NOTE OF THIS

Goo nade has always been a fav of mine. Always reliable. It gives you mountable positions, locks down points, and traps enemies, and so much more. Soooo versatile.

As a sword player I'd use it all the time in high diamond S2 ranked even before all of the buffs, it was amazing for providing cover. Though sword is pretty nish making its use case for other classes not as good at the time. Really glad its getting some recognition!

goo has always been ignored like the worst gadget, but alot of items are good in the right hands, Gas, Turret, many others were frowned upon Early on in the game, i remember OB ppl were FURIOUS i didnt go heals and only went turret, but i made Diamond every season w/ it lmfaooo, but thats because alot of ppl have what i call "COD Mindset" as a person whos used, Goo, Gas, Turret, and many other gadgets, goo can be used to make BRIDGES, and ive never in any level of gameplay seen ppl use it like that, because ppl dont think outside the box alot, which is why ALOT of guns, Gadgets, Specials, Etc are not even glanced at

Erm... ACKSHUALE' But really though, I use goo on medium with demat, jump pad and frags (IK, no difib heal, i'm trolling). Since each segment of the goo is round, you can do this cool thing where you place the goo, climb on it and freely angle the the jump pad around the goo for a makeshift mancannon. Gives you more momentum than a zipline and if you use it from an elevated position it also gives you WAY more distance. Random teammates will have no idea what you're doing when you place a goo right in front of them though and just run around it. Can throw frags midair, gives you angles on enemy defenses. When defending you block doorways and narrow rooms placing the goo high and if they try breaking through it you can chuck frags under the wall to get ez damage.

Goo was always a solid choice its just that the alternative were better. I have seen some light use it with dagger to block or try to isolate targets (its not a problem for me i run explosives 2 shots ez lol)

Turret-Goo-zip line medium is brazyyy. The setups you can do indoors with the goo and zip can help for fast rotates and throw you enemy’s off when ur recking them from the celling 😭🤣

Won a match goo’ing on someone when they were trying to steal, this deathball/get down mr.president play style on the Hail Mary push is easily countered by goo On heavy I recommend using goo and barricade through out the finals

Goo grenade can also stop a cashout, similar to the stun gun. It happened to me the other day, but I have no idea how easy / consistent this'll work. I'll have to give it a try.

I predicted this. This was inevitably going to happen after so many nerfs to Heavy in a row. If Embark keeps buffing everything except Heavy instead of addressing the real issue, things will only get worse. This is poor balancing. What's next? A nerf to goo? A nerf to glitch mines? I've seen this happen in other games before, and this pattern of balancing is not good. No one cares anyways, this will help players not to waste a loadout slot to counter such, enabling more TDM mentality. Nice work Embark.

Once we get nerfs for: - Model 1887 - RPG (140 damage down to 100) - Glitch Mines And buffs for: - LMG's - Magnum - 93R (add optic) We will have a balanced game. Also, subjectively speaking, Triple Defib/Heal Beam teams have become a serious problem, especially in Final Round. You shouldn't have to kill one team 3-6 times to win one fight. Either restrict the use of 3 defibs on one team or just deploy a global defib cooldown nerf. Unbeatable team in Final Round is 3 mediums (2 Models and 1 AK), 3 defibs, 3 healing beams, shitloads of Glitch traps to deny body carries and gadgets. 3 good players on this set-up is the Final Boss in The Finals. If it were up to me World Tour Ranked would require L/M/H but I dont want to be a boring grouchy old man and ruin the fun of team comp diversity. Just fix triple defib strat and we good (specifically in Ranked WT, in Casual go crazy)

This game will never be balanced, and that’s part of why I like it so much. You can’t realistically balance a sandbox game for “competitive” play. And if the game does become balanced, it will most assuredly become far less fun. There are a plenty of unfun big name games out there right now. Embark needs to stick to their vision of fun first. They have almost no competition in that in the realm of FPS. I’d like to be convinced otherwise.

@ChickenPhobia OR maybe each time you get defibbed in one life 3 seconds is added to your materialization back into the game world. So first defib takes the default 3 seconds to reincarnate, second defib then takes 6 seconds, etc.

14:57 omg, YES! I complain about this in every game that's like this. In Warframe I had to use macros for the dozens of weapons that were designed to reach absurd fire rates, but were still semi-auto for some reason. In The Finals, that gets you kicked because it's considered cheating. If a weapon like the V9S isn't balanced when consistently fired at its max fire rate, it shouldn't have 600 rpm in the first place. Human fingers aren't meant to do that. Terraria's devs at least added autoswing/fire as a toggleable accessibility feature a while back since it has the same problem, and I love them for that.

i think my main point during that rant was accessibility, some people with physical impairments just cant do stuff like that without injuring themselves, so dont lock content out because someone has a disability

@@Appoh Agreed! I wouldn't even consider myself disabled (physically), but 5 clicks per second for extended periods makes my fingers sore. My max (according to a test I just found) is about 5.6, and I feel like trying to push that higher would risk nerve damage. Also, apparently the V9S fire rate is around 430; I thought it was 600 before. It's still absurdly high.
