Personally I preferred Ninh Binh, about 90k south of Hanoi. Amazing nature beautiful landscapes, great for hiking and taking local boat trips. For me it was a lot more enjoyable. Locals are a lot friendlier too 😊

I've been there twice and have noticed that the littering situation was getting from bad to worse at the Halong Bay area. Hope the relevant authorities will do something about this issue soon. By the way, did you guys go to the pearl cultivation area at Halong? It was quite an experience. 😅

It's a pity. But I can see how difficult it is to keep it clean as the rubbish is coming from everywhere 😅 Its a huge change to make a big difference and hopefully the right people can do more about this issue. Unfortunately we didn’t go there. Have you? Maybe next time ;P

I was just there a few months ago. Spectacular and beautiful , that’s a reason why it’s a seven wonders of the world. Really cheap to go from Hanoi, therefore it’s crowded like Disney World. Some of the plastic and trashes were caused by tourists but it wasn’t that bad at all. Most of the trashes were also drifted in from the sea. Vietnam as I said before is the most beautiful and affordable country that I ever visited. Caving and kayaking were spectacular and the highlight on my trip. I blamed the language barrier resulted in some misunderstanding of the people. Vietnamese people were pretty nice and hardworking.
@Chai_Travel Жыл бұрын
Fully agree :) Also the rubbish is coming from other parts of the world I'm sure. It's a difficult challenge to keep it clean. Vietnam and its people are great :D

Halong Bay is amazing....the litter is a pity and I do wonder why/where/how. Cat Ba is not what it is today. Back then there were a few buildings at the dock and that's it. I also wonder if that tour company I used is still around. They had the only luxury cruise liner back then and it was a wooden boat. They also had a separate island to overnight on, like camping and from there you go kayaking that is amazing. So this video brought back fond memories....thanks Champ and let's not forget Elona (sp).

Wow that sounds cool! I hope it still excites. Id love to camp on a separate Island there as most of the main islands got very busy. Good to see your comments again :D have a good day

The trash really does take away from the natural beauty, but I hear a lot of it can come from other countries like the Philippines after a storm. It also doesn't help that the locals don't take care of their trash properly.

They may lose their UNESCO distinction if they don't care for the environment. We did this 20yrs ago and no garbage. I find a lot of countries in SE Asia dirty,lots of plastic and garbage, many Thai beaches have garbage everywhere. I love the region and countries but something needs to be done
@Chai_Travel Жыл бұрын
Yeah true. I can imagine how difficult it is to keep it clean though. Hopefully it will change over time. Thanks again champ 🏆

@@Chai_Travel well education and reinforcement of being responsible, using garbage receptacles etc. They need to invest in the resources to do so, and being that many of these countries rely on tourism heavily they should be collecting more taxes from corporations that benefit to do so. There are many cities around the world that make this effort with providing the recycling and garbage containers needed, and promoting their beautiful clean environment. Residents and tourists will appreciate it.

So sad that there's trash in such a beautiful place. There are still floating communities that live in Ha Long Bay and that greatly contribute to the littering. Just remember that these communities have been living in Ha Long Bay way before it became a World Heritage site, and the only way they know how to get rid of their rubbish is to throw them in the water. The trash situation has improved tremendously since Ha Long Bay became a World Heritage site, but it definitely can improve even more.
