Hey Hoon! I feel I know my BE intimately after unblocking pipes and taking valves apart to clean!!!! Sooo good to have it back and make good coffee again. Good to be back!! Hope you are still having fun over the pond.

"Its not worth it" yeah but some of us want to get into the hobby and are on a budget, or dont have much space. I know with an automatic grinder in my budget i will not get good results, not for espresso anyway. And i really dont want to use a pressurized basket....

How about flair royal grinder, is it good for espresso machine?

I have found that the ROK Grinder is the best for espresso. I use it many times with the Rocket with excellent results, but it varies between beans. The lighter the bean, the heavier it is to grind, so my suggestion is to use the ROK grinder only if you are testing a coffee for the first time or if you do not want to empty your hopper.

Hi Hoon, you said that the turbo shot is a longer blooming phase on it, though Lance says that the turbo shot would be around 40-50gram yield in around 8-12 seconds from start to finish, so I assume that would mean no blooming phase? Unless there have been other variations brought up for the blooming shot. I have kind of kept well clear and this end of the subject so just looking for clarification. Cheers

@Hoon's Coffee - can you grind for tricolate using the Breville built in? Which hand grinder would you use for the Tricolate?

I used to take my Comandante on the road with me. Got the hot water from either hotel room coffee maker or free breakfast offering. Grinding in a hotel room was stupid. After 1/2 year, I realized it's a real pain and the pour over was inconsistent. Also, discovered I missed out on so many opportunities to taste great "local" coffee.

If you want a hand grinder for espresso you need the Kinu M47 Classic. It takes me no more than 30 seconds for 18 grams of espresso and it's much, much smoother compared to what you were using in this video. The other hand grinders are not made for espresso.

Use the 1zpresso j max and it take about 34 seconds to make espresso grounds. And it makes amazing espresso. I like hand grinding. I find it to be relaxing.
