@@BoringReviews Hello Sir, i just came across your Channel because i regularly search for India & Spirituality related Videos. I know a lot of Sadhguru Videos, let me tell you something: Yes he certainly inspires and baffles People with his Way of Explaining, but i'd recommend you to not take everything literally what he says. It is Sadhguru's View of India and Hinduism, you will find other Teachers who have and teach a completely different View in these Topics. Also it is important to mention, what Sadhguru tells you in these Videos is always based on certain Doctrines that for him may be self-evident, to most Westerners these are not! So when he for example says "This is not about God etc." he does not mean there is no higher Power beyond us, because in other Videos he says exactly that. Basically he is referencing the Advaitic Doctrine of Non-Duality, that there is in Reality nothing else than God, and this Universe is an Appearance of or in God. Somebody who does not know these philosophical Twists and Turns will come to wrong conclusions! Because of this, for your own better understanding, i recommend to also watch some more "orthodox" Teachers that come from a well-known Tradition based on a Succession of authentic Teachers. This is very important because you can also find many so called "Gurus" who in reality are Charlatans in disguise. I don't say Sadhguru is one of them, no, but unfortunately there are more than enough Scammer. 2 very good and authentic Teachers i can highly recommend are the late Swami Chinmayananda and Swami Sarvapriyananda. Both have loads of Videos on KZbin, very simple and short ones and also very sophisticated and deep/long ones. For you as a Christian it would be beneficial also to watch their Videos and to learn from them, because Jesus Christ is not a Stranger for them. They also talk about and praise the Lord, it is very interesting .. i have learned SO much about India and the religious Mindset from these 2 Teachers alone. Properly understood this can widen and deepen your christian faith. I'll leave you some links to check out, maybe you can react to it? Thank you!

Belief is a personal thing.. it dosent have existantial reality. Whatever u believe is just an idea that ur imagination builds up for u. Subscribing to that idea is self empowering but at the same time one must remember it's not the truth. Because truth is objective and belief is subjective . "So belief can give u solace, but truth gives u solution". That is why we must recognise things we don't know as not knowing ,because then only we will be truthful to ourselves and to others. Otherwise many beliefs are inevitably going to clash and be used for benefits.

Why was the video of sadhguru in 1.5x speed? This is not how he speaks. He speaks a bit slower than that. But good reaction. I like that u believe nick, in the good way. I always think that religion should be a way to look inwards and improve ourselves so we can be better outwards. Whether there is heaven or not, we can make this life heaven. We have a choice there. When we get up, we have a choice. Will i be happy today or miserable.

Just a suggestion, don't take his words as final. There are different aspects within Hinduism that also has an entirely different ideas. Some of which like Bhaktiyoga is not diferent than Christianity and Islam in terms of devotion and surrender. There are also Jnanayoga and Karmayoga which is seeking the truth by logic, work and knowledge which doesn't need a belief system or faith. The thing about Hinduism is it is the only open source religion in the world that can be subjected to questioning, logic and criticism. But thanks to British, Mughal invasion and now left liberals who will call you a Bhakt if you follow your religion, Hindus became organized and paranoid.

@@BoringReviews Sure.. It's an ocean of a topic. But the basic thing to understand is that Hinduism was not a religion. As he explained, Hindu is a geographical identity (called by foreign invaders). When the Britishers decided to demarcate India on the basis of beliefs, they simply put those people of Indian origin who doesn't follow assigned religions such as Islam or Christianity as Hindu or later became followers of Hinduism. Today it became more like any other religion but without any one book to follow. The ancient term used for today's Hinduism is "Sanatana Dharma" literally means "eternal order" which helps an individual life to reach "moksha" or "liberation". What he is trying to explain is that Hinduism is not even a religion to begin with so that it would be threatened off and he as a Guru helps in guiding an individual to attain Moksha. Guru literally means teacher, but now it became a spiritual teacher. There are other videos of him explaining the same to an American or Western audience that might be easy for you to understand. This explanation was purely for Indians or those who have prior experience with Indian history, that's why it flew over your head I suppose. 😁

If only there were a place where "proper Hindu philosophers/gurus" resided in large numbers. A place that he might go visit and eventually be confronted by one or more actual experts in Hinduism. Can you think of such a place of convenience? A country, a city, or a temple? Perhaps you can arrange for this to happen, if only to watch and film his intellectual destruction. Make it happen, and Live-Stream it on You Tube. You'll get lots of views and shares. I'm sure of it. I can't believe he has gotten away without such a confrontation for so long. I am close to the same age as him and have studied religion for nearly half a century. I have seen one or two of this man's video, including the one with the British Chef. So, I'd hardly claim to be a follower. However, this video. in my opinion, is the one that clarifies his personal stance, his understanding, of India and Hinduism, to a much greater degree than the other short clips of him I've come across. Since I also have had a lifelong love for the Sciences, I've studied them too. And as far as religion, I claim to be an Agnostic, because I don't know. Because I don't know, I study. As you might guess, this means that this video of him shows him to be someone I will likely pay more attention to in the Future. But you, apparently an expert in Hinduism declare him to be a false scholar of Hinduism. Okay. He is on the world stage, famous enough to draw foreign celebrity chefs to come all the way to India to spend a couple days with him on camera. He's not a hidden figure. Why has no actual scholar, one who suits your expertise in this subject, never publicly challenged him? In answer to your question, yes. I feel pretty good. It is always good to stop silliness in its tracks. You'll notice, I certainly did, that you did not challenge any of my assertions, issues, and/or queries. Instead, you resorted to a volley of personal attacks. Oops. In the study of Logic that form of retort is termed an Ad Hominem fallacy. I recently read a lot of history about Jews and Christians...I always was confused about these two religions... But I know I have a working understanding of these religions...In past six months I read about Jesus's birth...his crucifixion and then ressurection...I read about the role of Jews in that....I read about the seven crusades and the struggle for the control over Jerusalem... And the fight between Catholic and Protestants... History always very interesting to read... If you ever wish to read anything about Hinduism...I would suggest you to read about Mahabharata.... It is very interesting very much like game of thrones (I know it's a wired comparison but it's kinda true) it's about the epic war between two families who are related to each other.... Ramayana is another epic tale in Hinduism... It's the story of lord Ram ... Who sadhguru is referring to in this video...Ramayana is also a great story but very less complicated then Mahabharata.

If they make a grand tv series on Mahabharata, it would well go par with Game Of Thrones. Many characters in Mahabharata are grey characters not straight up good or bad. Even Krishna used to do some shady things. But that's the thing about "Dharma." It's very complicated to explain it in English. Not to forget the epic battles, magic, betrayal, likeable negative characters it has everything.

I would suggest to stay away from videos of such nature. These are not informative videos but have political opinions of divisive nature. The guy in the video has a history of putting his nose where it doesn't belong.
