Is Homelessness a Choice?

I often ask those living on the streets of Honolulu: do you think homelessness is a choice? Here, John takes a moment to consider and share his experience on it all. The fullness of his response impressed me!

Seems to me the answer to the title question is that for some it is a choice; for some it is the farthest thing from it. Just like most things to do with human beings, who can't be lumped together just because they have homelessness in common...or anything else,-- whether what they have in common is race, nationality, gender, wealth, education...or the lack of it.

Did you ever get around to asking about the airline ticket voucher program by which everyone loves to blame the government for the increase in transplanted homeless. I wonder about such a program.

this question is subjective/objective... we say it's a choice....for them... therefore we refuse to help.... they say it's not a choice and always desire a house.... but it's too hard to manage it's too expensive. how can we ask is homelessness a choice, go to other countries... there is no homeless there now ask yourself... how come... it is the society we built here in the America🥹I can say this from talking to many homeless... the one thing you hear is... Shelter is a choice... going to the Shelter most refuse to because of drugs in there stealing fights... rules set there ect... anyway I can see you focus a lot on homeless and thank you for your channel and upload...
