Mukhannathun is a term used in a traditional Arab history refers as transgender women. The word has its meaning as “Effeminate ones” or a “Men resemble Women” it is important to note in here that a “Mukhannath” is an individual which cannot be related to the gay community as their characteristics are quite different from them, one can say that Mukhannath are “queer” or belongs to the “Khawaja Sira” community. It is quite surprising that Mukhannathun always been the part of Islamic history, even during the days of Holy Prophet (PBUH). An-Nawawi famous hadith scholar, categorize the mukhannath into two important types: 1. Mukhannath min Kalqin: This type belongs to those males who born with feminine traits. There is no sin of being in that situation as long as individual prevent itself from all kind of forbidden activities. In accordance with our society these individuals are also known as “Transsexual” 2. Mukhannath bi al-takalluf: These are those men who purposely act like women without being born with feminine traits or without having any gender identity problem. According to the teachings of Islam, commence of these kinds of activities are sinful and punishable.

LOL guess thats what happens when you take a wife only as a sexual slave instead of an actual person that is to become your best friend for life and DUH, of course it goes both ways. The wife has to get consent from her husband if she wants to initiate sexual activity and she needs to respect his wishes if he says no and not force anything on him if hes not comfortable (thats just RAPE), its a simple humane thing to do and it goes without saying that the husband is supposed to do the same. Like I said, they are both human. Not animals. They can control their sexual desires if they want to.

I think the problem is that being gay is automatically linked with anal sex which has a categorical prohibition. In my line of work I know that many gay men do not engage in anal sex nor enjoy it. I think this answer is the best I have heard from any alim. That, if perchance a person is born gay and not conditioned to be gay because of external factors in their childhood, then they should see it as a test from the creator, like a person born with physical abnormalities. By extension it would mean that while anal sex and gay marriages remain completely off limits, being patient in being gay in itself could be a path to spiritual salvation. Have I understood it correctly??

I think you have. Homosexuals are not evil. God has given them a fitnah in the same way that the rest of us are being tested. Life on Earth is not permanent. Its all a test we must pass for Jannah. I think if a abstinent Muslim asks for whom they love in Jannah, they may get that. Allah promised that he will give us whatever we desire, in the Holy Qur'an. And Allah knows best.

Easy said than done. Humans are social beings , they tend to create social bonds, mostly for life. These bonds get strong if there is a physical aspect to them. It is a need. If it is supposed to be a test, then Allah never tests a person with more than what one can bear. Is abstinence justifiable at all? Is the only solution for a homosexual person is to be in a loveless marriage for life, thinking it is a test? I don't even need to point out the consequences on all the people who would be involved in such an arrangement.

@@EuEmm I am not sure if you read my comment in it's entirety or with understanding. I did not suggest that gay people be in marriages let alone loveless ones. Sex is not love. In fact, personally I don't think gay people should form partnerships with members of the opposite sex for reasons of religious prudence and cultural convenience. If they do give into their sexual urges and engage in homosexual sex then there is no question in my mind that Allah will forgive them if they seek repentance. And for every time they abstain they get closer to Allah. Think of a blind person for example. They cannot see, period, unlike a gay person who can engage in sexual activity. In a blind person having sabr on their condition, they become closer to the creator. At the end of the day if the censorious society butts out of the lives of gay people, then gay people will have better lives and relationship with their religious affairs. Their sexuality is nobody's business except them personally and their creator. Forgive me if I have not articulated my point as well as I should have.

@@mrashid3643 I got your point. In that case, you are suggesting a life of abstinence. I get that. My point is that it is not a logical solution. It is quite often that people give example of a disabled person to compare that with a homosexual. I don't understand that, as one is an innate feeling/ability with which you are born and the other is lack of one. More appropriate analogy would be if a person is blind and has an increased sense of hearing or a person is born without hands and learn to accomplish tasks with his feet. Still i am not sure of these comparisons are accurate or close. The only valid comparison is you are a heterosexual and not allowed to be with any woman.

I slightly disagree here despite being great admirer of ghamidi sahab.. I believe some some people are born that way, not necessarily influenced by environment as this thing is also common in animal kingdom.. And a person knows how he feels from inside or how he identifies himself, it is so natural.. No scientific evidence is required to tell you that.. It is like telling a person that you do not feel hunger or thirst.. We know that no one requires science to validate these feelings.. It is innate..so is homosexuality (for some people)
