I Lived in Hounslow for the last 10+ years with few episodes of desertion, and of course it's not South Ken here or Hampstead but many people call it home and problems are everywhere no matter where you live. I personally don't mind living in Hounslow and I wanted to say thank you for at least one positive video about this place.
@travellinglostsoul7191 Жыл бұрын
My sentiments exactly. while it’s definitely not perfect, it’s also not nearly as bad as people make it out to be. And very convenient to reach other places with Heathrow just a few stops away
@Funinhounslow5 ай бұрын
@@travellinglostsoul7191 so many of these walkabout videos show declining cities and boarded up shops. Here we have a bustling town centre and people just getting on with their lives. This is a pretty accurate portrayal of the town centre.
@batman475111 ай бұрын
I was born and bought up in Hounslow and people like to talk down to it but this is the only town on this whole island which can truly shut its borders and survive because we have not only Heathrow airport but some of the best schools and pharmacy companies 🎉 being so close to the airport is both a positive and a negative as you will realise a lot of different cultures pass through every 10-15 year for example you had a lot of Eastern Europeans mid 2000s Asians and carribeans before that and now more Arab and East African ❤ you will find a lot undesirables late night but generally you’ll be ok as long as you keep it cool! Also Hounslow borough having to deal with Heathrow airport also makes the most money in terms of boroughs but again people at the top steal that and neglect the roads… lately though the Asian kids who grew up here are coming back from places like Dubai and ready to settle down again which is why you see vast improvements like the high street has come along way and we have more then just a few pound shops 😅😅 but hopefully soon less people renting here and more owners come back and build a community ❤
@travellinglostsoul719111 ай бұрын
These are my sentiments as well. I’ve been here 3 years and feel totally at home now. Although there are a few negatives, they are vastly outweighed by the positives. You’re totally right about being self contained from the rest of Britain, we could literally survive alone as we have everything here. And we have kurupt fm, best garage station in the Galaxy 🤣 (if you know you know)

I was born in West Mid Hospital in the 70’s and grew up in Isleworth. In my teens you could walk home from Hounslow High St to Isleworth at night with no issues. If I tried it today then I would be a dead man. The High street was great then with most brand names - now it looks like a lot of pound shops. Such a shame how much it has deteriorated.

I will be 80 this year ( 2025) i lived in Hounslow in 1951 when i was 7 and came from Isleworth , there were mainly only white English people there then, i lived in Maswell park road , again only white English people there then, when i first arrived at the age of , 7 i went to Chatsworth school , it was tough in those days , they used to smack you if you were naughty, at 11 years old i went to the notorious Bulstrode school it wasnt very nice , it was a bit of a dump....Mr Dennis was the headmaster then and he was very handy with the cane , i suppose it wasnt to long after the war at that time, when i left Maswell park road at the age of 25 in 1970 , it still was mainly white English people there, going back to 1960 when i i was 16.... we used to have four boys who were the bullys at Bulstrode school,,,,they murdered a 17 year old lad ....and three of them were 18 and they got hung and one was 17 he got life in prison ( about 17 years ) you can look it up.....they were messrs Lutt, Harris , Forsythe , and Darby. happy days. Hounslow is a completely different place now.

Thank you for your insight. It’s really good to get first hand knowledge from the people who lived here and can give perspective. I actually grew up in the north in a town that was practically “all white” and can relate as the atmosphere was very different to the one we live in now. While i do actually embrace multiculturalism as it makes life interesting (and I love to travel) but I’m totally against the lawless behaviour we see on the streets nowadays. Again, thank you for your insight and hope you’re doing well. Take care

London was a great city before the migration crisis and the cost of living crisis. It is a great diverse but very expensive and complex place and a lot people who live in has to go green and less overall crowded by far car accidents and tourist attacks and stabbing incidents and so on gas to become less expensive and the cost of living crisis. Over all ok too much waste bins and toc many fines.
