@@bababluelotus what was once a peaceful no man's land is now teeming with soldiers and hundreds of missiles. India is forced to join hands with China's enemies - this is very hard to reverse hence India always stayed away from that but now its done. Imagine poking a sleeping beast and turning it against yourself. That is what China has done, now it has a big big problem on its doorsteps. USA could never have become a super power if it picked fights with its neighbors. This actually suits india because earlier it did not have any excuse to put military on the LAC and was always vulnerable, now not so much. Plus we are in good company now

@@bababluelotus it's true of the military is not equal to them but we have the goal to build infrastructure around LAC and china's goal was to stop us doing that. Btw they already build infrastructure on their side of LAC and we didn't because of our focus was on improving our economy so right now china also in a bad spot as they cant India to stop the infrastructure now as India can say to people in India and outside the world and we are in danger and we need to do this. In nutshell, there is a growing realisation within China that they misread India and took it too much for granted. The second point that is clear is that China cannot afford to have India against China and may have to suffer very serious damages unless a meaningful and substantial effort is made to their approach towards India. However, these would be just cosmetic changes or concrete changes in its Imperialist ambitions remain to be seen. I am firmly if the view that the Imperialist ambitions will continue under a more sophisticated veneer.

Sir, you keeps harking on and on about the context without answering the actual questions. What does it mean by managing India? What does it mean by strategic confrontation, etc. 🙄🙄😑😑
@mohanprasadswaminathan4652
@mohanprasadswaminathan4652 3 жыл бұрын
Maybe, I'll put down my interpretation of the points regarding "managing India" from Mr. Adlaka. There are two ways China wants to "manage" India relations. One through "action" and the other through "reaction". In the action category comes the process of keeping India in "good humour". What that means, I can only speculate, like , removing the technical hold against sanctions that China places in U.N. the terrorists wanted by India. Or giving Modi his informal summits which makes Modi look statesman like. In the reaction category comes the diplomatic or military (overt or covert) China would undertake in the event of India launching anti-terror strikes or even attempt to provide political support to Balochistan. For the first part at least, China has started supplying armed drones and maybe BVR missiles to Pakistan and also is providing money so that Pakistan can pay back Saudi A. Also add to the fact that Nepal border arguments with India is also in the reaction category. These are just my interpretation of "managing". But one thing is certain, if China thinks it can "manage" India with bread crumbs, it needs to change to change their strategic experts. Current Ladakh situation shows bread crumbs don't go far enough.

Thanks to The Print for providing this video/discussion, helps to understand what goes inside the Chinese minds vis-a-vis India. The commentator is spot on when he says China - EU relations is China's top priority, especially now since China wants to clinch an Investment deal with EU before Angela Merkel retires next year. She has been a consistent proponent of deeper trade ties with China.

@@ctate1285 I am just wondering how EU can reconcile with China's internal as well as external conduct. I expect China to go full speed ahead with whatever it is doing eight now, even after the deal with EU. The question is how will EU react, especially U.S. going the way of sanctions. With a few years, China will certainly start to influence the EU periphery, that would be a real test.

You seem to disagree with what Merkel is advocating for the German people but who are you to dispute her stand? Just because you love to be subservient to the Anglo-American power over you? Don't you think she is being practical to ensure what her nation wanted in the first place. Just because, you have some issue at the border the rest of the world must take side? Don't you think the border dispute involves both parties whose boundaries were drawn and enforced by an Imperial power a few hundreds years ago. To resolve the issue, the parties need to sit down and talk not simply claiming that the party is creating the problem just because you claimed the line should be drawn based on your claim along.

Late 2021 or early 2022 there seems to be a possibility of conflict between the two nations. It would be beneficial for both countries to go back to their pre May positions and return their militaries to the barracks. This is because conflict does not help humanity and it is counter productive to both nations who are better off focussing on poverty alleviation and establishing an economic system that enables a better standard of living for the 2.6 billion population that they hold.

I do understand that there was connectivity issue and secondly Professor himself was not well. It must be quite cold there. In spite of all this , it was worth listening and worth internalizing . Obviously , China has no regret for any thing wrong they have done in the relationship , Galwan also no regret because they lost the soldiers too , the fact that they misjudged India and Indian forces resolve not to accept their hegemony has gone down well after Galwan incident. If they are looking for the source of India's blunt reply to them in Galwan it is not certainly in US India relationship but ahead of that . Faith in India' s leadership and a strong desire to teach China a lesson is the motivating factor every where. Why China came on our borders with 50000 troops ? Not for picnic for sure BUT to threaten India not to join any anti China grouping , accept subservience to China in the region and be in good humor. China has just achieved the opposite . Reason is very simple , they overestimated themselves and underestimated India. India is under pressure because of COVID and so many agitations but even then core of the country is against China's aggressive designs . China has earned it.

The topic was interesting and important, given the danger of misunderstanding of intentions. But the speaker needs to organize his material better (thematically, chronologically, on the basis of provenance, etc.). He must also try to inculcate some practices of better public speaking (such as change in the pitch, or other forms of voice modulation). All in all - an underwhelming presentation.

Please highlight to anyone who wants to hear this session to listen at 1.5X speed. This is required to save time. Also the way the speaker takes forever to come to the point - is symbolic of the poor teaching standards in Indian universities. In any world class university - this kind of communication would have been weeded out from its teaching staff by getting feedback from the student body at end of semester about the teaching done in the classroom. The speaker displays very poor communication ability.
