I always THOUGHT of it as a tornado......but first heard the name snail trail

Never thought of it that way but it makes sense.

@DonnellsStitchery yeah, on doppler radar you see the winds going the two different directions, and when you watch the funnel clouds coming together, they do a dance and swirl movement that looks like that....reminds me of my younger years watching the funnel clouds forming with my dad in MI.

I can totally see that. So cool. I used to watch them from in Tennessee growing up. It's so funny how something as simple as a quilt block can look like so many different things to people lol. Thank you Donna

Great video, I've always known this as Snail Trail or Monkey Wrench, never cat tail but that works too.

Thanks! It's funny how we all learn different names for things.

I’ve always known it as snail trail or monkey wrench, however cat tail works. Kinda a potato bs pawtato situation! lol Great tutorial! Thanks for sharing! Oh, I saw recently that someone created an 1/8 ruler-it has all the main measurements highlighted in 1/8 increments, 7/8, 1 1/8, 2 1/8 , 3 1/8, etc. 🤔🤔 Have a blessed day sis 🥰

Hey Kathleen I'll look into this and figure out how to post for each one. That's a really good idea. I love your take of ocean waves crashing like tidal waves.

It’s a snail trail to me…..but hey, …..it’s whatever the quilter sees……there are no quilt police and this is not a certification exam……..so maybe it’s monkeys tails! LOL. ❤❤❤
