Hm. Great question. I honestly don't know much about the employment opportunities in Penticton however I know health care is one of Vernon's top employers .....

Great and valid comparison, from someone stuck in the middle, Kelowna. Personally, I'm partial to Penticton. I find it prettier and it has the valley's best farmer's market. Vernon has the better ski hill and is closer to the Rockies/Selkirks. One criticism -- you didn't compare medical services, a big issue for many of the retirees looking at either place.

It is for sure. I couldn't find enough information to make a valid comparison unfortunately ... I think both places are in a similar situation with any major health concerns having to be transferred to Kelowna or Vancouver ...

I'm not sure of the exact numbers. For a medium sized city it's not that bad however I don't walk around at 2 am downtown either .... I think that's just good sense.
