This is so cool! I just found out about vernon, and we have to end up moving soon anyway. I'm not a big fan of smaller, older type towns, but its not in the middle of nowhere, and its right in the mountains, which are one of my favourite things!! The houses also look pretty beautiful! I hope to go there one day, maybe even make it my home :)

Hello Oleksandr - thank you for reaching out. In Vernon the rentals are a bit difficult to find right now. Probably $1800 - $2500 per month for a 2-3 bedroom. Is that possible for you?

I live in Vancouver, and honestly, it isnt the best. During rush hour (or sometimes if you're just trying to get through vancouver) you can barely even move because the traffic is so bad. Its beautiful here, for sure, but it is a bit overcrowded. I cant make up your mind for you, but I hope that wherever you end up you're happy in!

Yes, the official kelowna border is around Commonwealth rd in Winfield…but takes longer than 1/2 hr to get to DT

What is the homelessness like in Vernon? do you have a lot of the tent encampments happing in Vernon? DO you feel safe walking around Vernon in the evening. What is crime like there? Does Vernon have a hospital? if yes What is the name of that hospital? I was planning on visiting the Okanogan for the first time but due to the wild fires I decided to wait until next summer. What I like about Vernon, although I have never been there is the medium size population that Vernon has so it is not small but it is not big either and you are down the highway from Kelowna if you need a city fix. What is it like driving on the highway going to Kelowna in the winter? Do they clear the road often? Is there a community Centre in Vernon? Can you make a video showing the inside of the local community Centre? I really need to buy a house but it has take me years upon years to decide were exactly do I want to live and I think I have decide to live permanently somewhere in the Okanogan simply because I really do not want to live in a really small community. I want to live in a medium size community but still have access to a major city this is really important to me and the Okanogan offers that. I will definitely be calling you when I am ready to look around when it comes to real estate. What are your thoughts on Penticton BC?

So sorry for my late reply! There is homelessness in Vernon however I think comparatively to larger centers it’s not bad … but … it’s definitely there. The highway to Kelowna is kept very well although if there is a huge dump of snow it’s best to just stay off all the roads! I like Penticton as well, it’s a nice little community. Smaller, I would say a bit quieter. Definitely hotter :)

Oh absolutely. Rentals are at an all time low. You could easily rent it out. For good money

I have no idea why real estate is so expensive in Vernon. With flooding in the spring, Wild fires everywhere in the summer, and thanks to Global warming, it’s quickly becoming a full on desert like Osoyoos. I can say this because I was born and raised here is well.

People still love it here! Luckily no flooding last few years. Everywhere has its pluses and minuses I guess :)
