Another tip for anybody new, is always carry a flare gun and some ammo as if you are in a bit of a pickle you can fire in the air and some people would come to help with out asking

I started playing yesterday and I was a big fan of the donation box and some players dropping a briefcase next to me while sometimes jump scaring me. So far I started to be motivated to put fun stuff in the donation box or any copies of plans I been finding.

I've dead dropped many times for low levels, usually a full set of level appropriate set of boiled heavy leather armor, a level appropriate modded hunting rifle, several healing consumables, bergen aid an and food/ drink,( all with no rads) and about 1500 resources of different types for building. My way of paying it forward from the guys that did the same for me when i started in '18

I dead drop when they are at their own camps so that they see the drop. or like in the video at the red box or a Vendor so they can see it. I tend to not want to just leave things in the wild for the server to erase when it shuts down for maintenance if I am in game when the Maintenance message appears I go back to the drop site and see if the drop has been collected if not, then I take with me to the new server and drop it again, I just wish we could have a tab in the Pipboy to set up a quick drop

Im a bloodied build with a vampire enclave flamer, so I dont have a real use for stimpaks or radaway. I usually keep them for when I see a low level and I drop them a stack or like 20 or 30 of each. Same goes with any kind of chems, I almost never use them so I keep them as little gifts :)

Played when it first came out on my xbox I know I broke 50 but not sure if I ever broke 100, but there was definitely toxic players that would go around killiing everyone even with pacifist mode on. So I would be starting fresh on my PC, glad to hear that the community seems to be a lot more receiving than it was.

I remember a few years ago when I was walking around d in the wasteland probably around level 15-20 and some level about 130 dropped 1000 .308 and just left. Now if I see a new player I drop them 1000 .308 and I keep the tradition alive 4 years later.

Max level Serendipity is such a good card for new players, im glad they balanced survival with offensive capability for those wanting to start at level 20.

When I start a new game, I almost always choose Lvl 2 Because the grind is better between Level 2 and 25 plus as a level 550+ with over 5,500 hours in game I constantly seek new players (below level 20 usually) and drop Aid, Food, Ammo, and weapons with mods appropriate to their levels so they can use them I was given a Legacy Plasma gatling gun when I was like level 120 and even after it got nerfed (explosive energy weapons are apparently too OP, and yet hello Cremator I guess some people never heard of science fiction and proton torpedoes) anyway I still have the weapon though I no longer use it, it's a wall mounted piece of memorabilia now, like Nuclear Winter. point is, I was so grateful I cannot bring myself to get rid of the weapon. Seriously Bethesda through Fallout 76 (flaws and all) and through ESO has shown me what an awesome set of fans we can be and thankfully the most toxic players tend to leave and go to social media to harp on about how they would never play the game again and whine about Todd Howard point is they stopped playing and now we who love the game are left to play it and enjoy it.

For me, with some stuff above my level, I give it to people that look like they can use it. I gave some t-51b armor to a level 33 (36 maybe? I forget) because they had on t45, meanwhile I couldn't use it as I was level 10

Is Fallout 76 worth trying out if someone never played a Fallout game before? In this better than Bethesda's other online game Elder Scrolls Online? How freely is respecing your character?

I don't play ESO so i can't compare. but yes, it's newbie friendly and doesn't rely on any prior fallout knowledge (in fact, chronologically, it is set before all other games are) - and re-spec is free, fast and easy, right at your own campsite... or anyone elses.. or train-stations... or.... well you get the point.

Eso is like an mmo where as fo76 is more like a regular fallout game that has other players on the map. It's good but fo4 is probably the better place to start if it's your first experience of the series, I like 76 more then 4 though but I haven't gotten very far into the story

Personally I played this game before any other fallout games and I have to say that it wasn't the best experience I've had. I played the game for about 30 hours before quitting due to extreme difficulty spikes. Now, after only playing Fallout 4 I can say that this game (76) isn't the best Fallout game to play as a first timer, and Fallout 4 may be the best one due to its more beginner friendly gameplay and mechanics. As of right now I'm going to start playing 76 again since I know basically all the important stuff one should know about these games, so I would actually recommend you to play Fallout 4 instead of this one. But of course, give it a try to see if you like it!

you need to be lvl 25 before you can properly respec (i.e. reconfigure point spread) but you can pull and add card into any category at will

I have everything in my shop super cheap. A little treat for new players who stumble upon it. Ecspecially plans. 25 for mods 50 for everything else. And ill make a daily drop into different donation boxes with masses of nonperishables and drinks.

nah best choice would have been starting at level 1 so you could personally choose to level weight reducing cards right away to make it less annoying. or even more so food spoiling card.

Did they make the easier? I came back to the game last week and started with a new level 20 character. I used to have so much trouble with keeping my guns fixed and keeping a good amount of junk and ammo. I find it now way easier to have everything I need for crafting. I also, have limitless 5mm, plasma, shotgun shells, and any other ammo that isn’t 5.56. Where as before I would be struggling to maintain a good ammo count.

They've fine tuned the balance yes, to make some stuff a little less tedious, and so you can spend more time having fun (for example, enemies tend to drop the ammo for the weapon you're actively using, instead of some crap you might not even be using at all)... I still spend chunks of time farming up things you use a lot of, like steel, springs, gears, lead, aluminium etc. but ti's not nearly as bad as it once was.

Even though the Community may be decent, i still will never buy 76. Im more at the point im tired of MP being shoved into everything. Its also a Retcon in my eyes. Fallout 76 is set 30 years after the bombs and less then 100 years before Fallout 1, Therefore retconning the games Black Isle made. I wouldnt have a problem with it if the game were set AFTER Fallout 3 and before Fallout 4 and not have any connection to the originals and New Vegas. It only gives me the impression Bethesda hates the originals.

fallout one is in California, not West Virginia. no factions from fallout one, bar the brotherhood (which i agree has issues), make an appearance in 76. i just don't think this game takes away from what Black Isle made
