Hello mate,it's me,I'm the viewer who said they did 40 mph. I have a question for you and that's do you think strapping the phone on the car may slow it down just a touch with the added weight? Also you need to speed run it on 3s as they will often hit 55mph and the 60 amp esc has no worries taking 3s

I don't think the weight of the phone will have enough impact to really matter, but I suppose it could make a small difference. 3s would have been fun to try, but I've already cut up the car and made a new custom chassis for it, so it'll have to wait for now.

40mph out of the box is all I could get. Going to change the nobby tires to some street ones and see if that makes a difference.

what size battery 2s or 3s and what C discharge rate?

It's the stock 2200mah 2s. Not sure what the discharge rate is, but the little 28mm motor doesn't need a big discharge.

These get 45mph on a good 2s..i watched several videos of this car..its fast!

I think they're overgeared. Mine actually got faster when I converted it to the General Lee with the smaller tires even though it doubled in weight.

So didn't you also upgrade radio and esc? I know that adds power and top end speed since i have seen demos...but yes if motor could not reach its rpm max smaller diameter tires could fix that..yes it is geared high...i just never noticed or heard anyone complain about its punch..i will get mine soon and will see..thanks

@roadstar499 no, I only changed the servo. I did move up to a full size 500mah battery pack though, but I think I did my GPS run with the original pack, though I honestly don't remember.

Obviously you either had a weaker battery when you tested..just because it was a stock battery does not mean it had same punch as the other stock batteries..thanks

@@BudgetRC_Channel Sure all those variables would interfere, what I meant was, just without the added weight it would be very close to the speed advertised by the manufacturer

@@JohnMorconzol the manufacturer claims 75kmh, which translates into 46mph. I can promise you that there aren't enough variables in the world to make up 6mph. Pretty much every test out there confirms 40mph, which is essentially what my test confirmed also, but that's not what this video was about. In my first video I claimed that the car seemed to be doing about 30 or 35mph (I can't remember the specific claim) and a commenter called me out on it, so I did this as a follow up to that video in order to get an actual speed instead of my incorrect estimate.

@@JohnMorconzol in my experience, the weight of a cell phone makes a very minor difference. This car has a completely new chassis now that is substantially heavier that the original. It might be worth doing another speed run to see how much of an impact it has.
