Here is an actuall conversation i had with an average ignorant muslim: Me: Qur'an says in 18:86 that the sun sets in a muddy spring Jahil: Actually the Qur'an quotes what the great King Dhul Qarnain says when he reaches a destination. As to his perception the sun set in the black sea. So no contradiction or mistake. Me: Then why does ibn Jarir at-Tabari explain it as litteral in his tafsir? Jahil: I'm unaware of what literal explanation you are mentioning by this person, however it's common knowledge that this verse is merely recounting what was perceived by The Ancient King during his travels across the unexplored earth. Me: Let me guess, you didn't even check the source i gave. What do you mean by "common knowledge" ? Who knows best, some random da'ee you found on the internett or Shaykh al-mufassirin? Jahil: there is no reason for me to research your source just to tell you why one scholar has a literal understanding of a Qur'anic verse when the majority of Qur'an scholars have a consensus regarding this particular verse we are discussing. As I have said it's common knowledge amongst Muslims and Quranic scholars alike that these verses context is from the point of view of the king Dhul Qarnain and what it was perceived by him. So once again I tell you there is no mistake nor contradiction here. Me: Who are these "scholars" you are referring to? ibn Jarir uses multiple tabi'in and sahaba as evidance, like ibn Abbas. And al-Baghawi in his tafsir gives the same interpretation as ibn Jarir Jahil: please do your own research. If you study hard enough you will come to the same conclusion as the majority of Muslims regarding these particular set of verses. There are multiple tasfirs of Qur'an and hadiths by various scholars, not all of them may have the correct understanding. As I have mentioned Allah doesn't make mistakes but people can and do when it comes to understanding Qur'an or hadiths. Me: Who are these scholars you are referencing, show me! I have given you the evidance from the most knowledgeable scholars of tafsir, and the sahaba Jahil: if I just give you all the answers you will learn nothing. That's not conducive to gaining knowledge. Besides I have already told you that you're wrong, now it's up to you to do your own research and find out. I could just tell you and ask you to take my word for it but you will learn nothing. I have already shown you what the context of the verses are and since you made the claim that there is a contradiction it's up to you to prove it, not me. Me: Here are three tafsirs which explain the ayah about the sun setting in a muddy spring as litteral: - Jama al-bayan an t'awil 'ai al-Quran, by shaykh al-mufassirin ibn jarir at-Tabari - ad-durr al-manthur fi tafsir bil-mathur, by Jalal ad-din as-Suyuti - Ma'alim at-tanzil, by al-Baghawi I have here three highly regarded books of tafsir which all say it is litteral!

I often seen tawriya, hiyal and kitman are commonly practiced among Muslims, ways how Muslims can deceive or even lie without lying   Tawriya is basically lying without lying, expressing your words in order to deceive the listener without lying For example: in the words of Sheikh Muhammad Salih al-Munajid (based on scholarly consensus): "Tawriya is permissible under two conditions: 1) that the words used fit the hidden meaning; 2) that it does not lead to an injustice" ("injustice" as defined by Sharia, of course, not Western standards). Otherwise, it is permissible even for a Muslim to swear when lying through tawriya. Munajid, for example, cites a man who swears to Allah that he can only sleep under a roof (saqf); when the man is caught sleeping atop a roof, he exonerates himself by saying "by roof, I meant the open sky." This is legitimate. According to islamic written book sources, mohammad was killed for being a false prophet. False prophet means islam is false and allah is false god. SAHIH AL BUKHARI 4428 Narrated Aisha: the prophet in his ailment in which he died, used to say, "O Aisha! I still feel the pain caused by the food I ate at Khaybar, and at this time, I feel as if my aorta is being cut from that poison". Prophet mohammad died the same way he prophesied if he was a false prophet. Surah 69:44-47 وَلَوْ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيْنَا بَعْضَ الْاَ قَاوِيْلِ  "And if Muhammad had made up about Us some [false] saying لَاَ خَذْنَا مِنْهُ بِا لْيَمِيْنِ  "We would have seized him by the right hand;" ثُمَّ لَقَطَعْنَا مِنْهُ الْوَتِيْنَ  "Then We would have cut from him the aorta." فَمَا مِنْكُمْ مِّنْ اَحَدٍ عَنْهُ حَا جِزِيْنَ "And there is no one of you who could prevent [Us] from him."

If you guys feel so confident if this is the case why don't you guys bring these statements in debates? Easier to just mention these things in short videos. The Prophet, allowed deception in the battlefield as this is war and war is deception like and book of War strategy will tell you. Muslims are not allowed to lie about their faith. They are allowed to protect themselves should their lives depend on it or your life for that matter through lying. They are also not encouraged to admit to sins publically. Life is a little different in the Arab world. Punishments are more extreme and often unjust. Its nothing to do with islam and all to do with politics. Muslims are very honest people.
