Thanks bud appreciate the comment and I do agree. Unfortunately this won’t happen for a while as I just don’t have time to get out on the course and film yet. And if I were going to do on course filming I also need a videographer / camera person too otherwise I think the quality would be crap as I don’t really know what in doing 😂 so the cost would go up significantly too, which we can’t justify at the moment. So it’s very tough and we can only really do our best and fit in what we can at the moment. But hopefully we can do some bits next year 👍

Yeah I'd say people take A LOT for granted nowadays with KZbin content, as the general quality standard is so high. But for small channels like us who aren't really making much money from it, it just comes down to a lot of time and effort and doing everything ourselves to the best of our ability, and a lot goes into it. Which is why it's hard not to get shitty at people moaning sometimes 😂 and I'm not including you in that by the way so don't worry 😂 and I would say my swing might look great but fundamentally it's not brilliant so my consistency isn't good. Good thing with KZbin you can take a lot out! But really my handicap would be like 6-10 id say. Somewhere in that region. So yeah maybe some lesson stuff soon....me getting some lessons!!

Great video thankyou , I've been experimenting for 18 months with different shafts in my earojet ls ! I've tried Kaili blue stiff, and white , motore x in regular , av blue in stiff and regular also! But my best results for distance and ease of use ( swinging within myself and finding fairways dispersion has been the ust linq red in seniour flex it just works for me long baby fades and has added 15 yards of carry ! We don't have a fitting centre nearby so it's been trial and error . Thanks Ian Northwales.

Hi Ian, thanks for the comment. And yes absolutely if you’re not fortunate enough to have a fitting centre locally then that’s all you can do really. Have a bit of fun, experiment with lots of different things, lots of testing and then just play what works best, forget the theory and what you “should be playing” it’s all about playing your best golf 🙌

Great video! I love this channel and I'm in awe of your swing! I'm my opinion, yours is the best of this type on KZbin. One question for you - What's your opinion of Puring shafts for average golfers? There's one guy on KZbin who seems on a mission to trash it as snake oil, but little else out there in terms of genuine comparisons. I'd love to see you do an in depth test on it. 👍
@epgolfstudios2 ай бұрын
Thanks Phil, appreciate that! My opinion for an average golfer is I don't think it will make any difference. In fact I'm pretty certain it won't. I get theory and I'm sure it does what it says it does but when you put that in the hand of an inconsistent average golfer do I personally believe it helps? No. But I was planning on doing a video on that though 👍

I play X shafts as well and am a bit of a nerd, I notice between all X shafts the torque numbers, if published are very similar between all shafts, while S shafts have about an order of magnitude more variance in the torque of the the shaft on a hit. I think by stepping down to those shafts you’d see more differences in the shafts.

I love the complete honesty. Feel, dispersion and consistency are the primary factors. Now, what was the data set like, with all the bad shots included?

Thanks 🙏 and God knows, it would have been all over the shop as my driving was shocking when I filmed this. Wouldn't have been able to use it to any comparable standard. In my opinion the bad swings have nothing to do with club or shaft so it's a bit pointless looking at them.

Well if you watched the blind flex test I did not so long ago it turned out that regular actually was the best for me! But yeah if I did this again but did them all in regular instead of X then you'd just get the same outcome mate

@ yeah I did watch that Ross and noticed that reg was best for you. But you are still testing here (and playing?) with X flex, so hence my question. And as much as anything, it’s a suggestion for extra content for you mate 😅 Perhaps with the 3 shafts in reg flex, and maybe 9 degrees loft instead of 8, any differences between the 3 shafts might end up being more pronounced? But you would know better than me, so if you say it won’t, fair enough. Cheers

Ventus Red is a bit of an outlier for a "red" profile shaft because of the ultra stiff handle. It's supposed to be higher launch and spin, but I didn't find that personally. I just don't get along with really stiff handle sections.

Hi Ross. Great video once again debunking some of the marketing bs. Would you say the same is true with irons- i.e the head affects the spin, flight etc far more than the shaft does or is there more to it with irons?

Is it worth paying the extra for the VeloCore? What is the difference in performance? I’m looking at getting a new shaft for my ping 10k in the new year so probably make an appointment with yourself 👍🏻
@epgolfstudiosАй бұрын
Being completley honest for the vast majority of amateurs it wouldn't be worth it no. And in terms of performance it depends what you mean. If i hit a non velocore and a velocore both with a great swing and centred strike the numbers would be the same. The argument with aftermarkets is more concistency of centred strike but personally i would say that comes more down to the golfer, and also more resistance to twisting on off centered hits so the worse strikes go straighter. But trying to quantify and show that in a fitting is virtually impossible.

@epgolfstudios2 ай бұрын
Thanks Michael. In all honesty it would be a pointless video if I used an average golfer. Even I'm barely good enough to do comparison testing. If you did a fitting video it's a very different story. I can use any level golfer and see what suits them best but that isn't any way a good or fair comparison of how the shafts perform. These videos are all about taking the human element out of it to see how they actually compare over a fair data set. I would use a robot if I could afford one 😂 the reality and club or shaft will perform badly on a bad swing so always hard to say what is swing and what is club/shaft
