Problem with that is non citizens can get ID'S & Social Security to function in society. The only way it can be fix is through voter ID. Since we get ID's anyway, just add a watermark or add the word citizen on the ID to determine if your a citizen or not. On top of that we can determine if democrats are cheating. That's not the problem. The problem is they want you to have to show your passport to vote and lots of citizens don't have one. The problem with requiring ID to vote is that you're more likely to stop genuine citizens from voting (they forgot it, the clerk erroneously rejects it, they couldn't find it on the day, it got destroyed in a house fire) than you are stop fraud because every audit has shown that fraud already doesn't get through

They don't even need to vote. They get their name on a paper which gets turned into the Government when they come across the border and all it takes is mail in ballots. While it is technically illegal to enter the US unauthorized, our US immigration law does allow it. There are routine traffic violations that are 'more' illegal. Consider this. If a non citizen cast an illegal vote, they will guarantee that they will never become a citizen and they get a guaranteed 1 year to 5 year prison sentence... just to cast one illegal vote. The risk-to-reward ratio is so high that it is unlikely that it happens, except by accident. Also, it can only happen if a state allows that non citizen to register to vote in the first place. So far, the only evidence that this is happening is when states (like Texas) set up some pseudo-automated voter registration systems that accidentally include non citizens.Just because they are registered, doesn't mean they know they are registered, and certainly does not mean they are voting.

When I registered to vote in 1974, I had to provide my birth certificate and take an oath confirming that I am ( name ), born in (city,state) on (birthdate) to (name of parents). Why on earth do we register anyone thru Motor Vehicle Depts.?
