Fanta Graham If I'm inclined to hurl insults it's because I've been too fed up for far too long with this illogical propoganda about "white privilege" and "oppression" in modern day society. I'm not denying that America has had a history of racism, but neither will I deny the great progress we've made. 100 years ago? Absolutely. 50 years ago? Sure. 2017? No. As someone who is actually a part of modern day society, I have yet to see convincing, if any, evidence to support this widespread racism and white privilege you speak of. And since you brought up to topic of defending my position, I'll point out that you have yet to present any facts in any of your posts. If you want to prove your point and look like less of an idiot, try providing some actual statistics, though I predict you'll be either unwilling or unable to do so. Sorry, but just saying "you're denying your privilege" doesn't cut it.

Fanta Graham Oh, and by the way, way to just assume that I'm white. I like how the thought never even crossed your mind that a black person could form their own opinion that differs from what Black Lives Matter tells them to think.
@MrMcFattyfat7 жыл бұрын
Fanta Graham If you're seriously claiming that America is more racist now than in the 60s, you're out of your fucking mind. It blows my mind that that you can even say that. I agree that there is inequality, but that does not mean that it was caused by injustice. Further, you can't just say "America is racist, the evidence being the racism in America." Sorry, doesn't work that way. You are the one making that claim, so the burden of proof rest on your shoulders. If I told you that I was raising a unicorn out of my shed, you would demand some form of evidence. Similarly, if you're going to claim that America is racist, you need to present evidence and examples of laws or practices that are clearly racist in intent. You can't just say "I swear it's true, just look around," or "it's your fault for not being able to see it." Honestly, your blatant disregard for facts is appalling. And by the way, it's precisely because I've looked around and studied the statistics that I think all this social justice nonsense is such bullshit.

So I started driving my wife’s old car at 2am. I was in the middle of nowhere at 3am. I Crossed a long bridge and I saw someone walking with boots in his hand and barefoot. I pulled over and picked him up. He didn’t speak a word of English. I drove south. An Intersection came up and he started yelling “Amigo amigo amigo.” And pointing to the right. I wasn’t going that way but I turned to the right. At the top of a very large mountain pass was a wide spot with a car. We pulled in behind it. Two heads popped up. A mom and a child. He said “no petro mi familia.” So I made a u turn and went back 15 miles and got him 2.5 gal gas. Drove him back and dropped him off. He wanted to kiss me. LoL. I did really good on my LAPD interview. They said you’re hired. I was so happy. Then about 10 minutes later they said “you’re disqualified, you’re a white male.” I drove my wife’s old beat up car 4hrs home. True story.

Excellent speech, and much more practical & detailed than I expected (under the TED rubric, I mean). The circumstances force Raymond to be as brief and concentrated as possible, but the matter of corruption is much broader than he can describe here. He mentions auditors and IPOs in passing, for instance, and one can't help but think (as he was probably thinking) e.g. of the First Citizens IPO boondoggle. Seeing this has also led me to read/listen to his blog.

The spectrum of hatred towards traits of decend goes far and gradually goes from racism to xenophobia and then to 'ecclesiophobia'. At some point prejudice can come down to intangible things like hatred to religion or nationality. So the problem goes further than just color of skin.

Actually... this has nothing to do with racism, it is about financial awerness, most of the time, and I can agree with some point, that we should be aware of where our money goes and how it is spended, which is true, but this is not a racial thing, it is more of an individual skill, to be concious about our finances and go after information (in the age of the internet is really not that hard), on the companies we are buying the products we use. We should know what we are supporting with our money. He is right on that.

The Title of this video is utterly wrong and misleading. I was working in Africa. I dated a local lady. She took me to meet her folks. Her grandmother took me aside and told me that she did not want to defile her pure blood with a '.....', so do whatever but no children. All of us are Racists and Colour Prejudiced. This is Reality. Look at the Biblical: Shem, Ham and Japhet. The progeny of Ham shall be subservient to the progeny of Shem and Japheth. Why? Because Ham saw his father, the drunkard Noah, who cursed him. As long as we have such nonsense as God's Biblical Truth, we shall remain so.

@11I00OO1I0O1Il I would ask the same question to any individual proclaiming pride for their racial group. I completely understand if a person wants to say something like "I am proud of the prior generations of (insert historical group here)". What I will continue to admonish is the idea that YOU are in possession of what those dead individuals overcame, or achieved, simply by the coincidence that you share the same color of skin. This statement also implies that the achievements of those dead people were a direct result of their skin color, which is not a claim with a basis in reality. And no, these people are experiencing a sort of pride that is falsely claimed, pathetic, and corrosive to progress.

When a group of people are given special status, protected by others, told over and over they have been mistreated and are owed something more than other groups they develop a sense of entitlement and invincibility. Racism doesnt grow on trees. If there is a bias towards a group of people, that group of people carries at least part of the responsibility. People know one another now, this is not the 20's or the 50's anymore. And if you are lucky enough to live in the west, no matter what colour your skin - you are among the most privileged people in the history of mankind (also regardless of your gender btw). It would do people well to remember that!
