Hey I dunno if this would work with the fortune teller, but the 3ds version lets you use the strobulb from dark moon instead of the flashlight to catch ghosts if you prefer. It's way worse and the controls are worse, but the strobulb by definition, is not the flashlight...

I happened here in a mini-binge of "can you beat _ without _" videos that led me here, and thoroughly enjoyed this short but sweet special. Love your use of PVZ music and even though it makes the challenge, not much of a challenge. It's still really cool to see such a glitch used to bridge the gap into avoiding nearly any more flashes. You can activate Clairvoya's crystal ball by aiming at it in scan-mode, so the actual minimum is 14 flashlight uses total

I just tested this and it doesn’t seem to be the case if you’re holding B the whole time. I think aiming the camera at it just points your flashlight at it, unless you’re doing something special.

I’m the dude who originally found the out of bounds glitch like, idk around ten years ago when I was one of the only ones speed-running this game. However, it was others that saw my video (posted on another channel) of the glitch that discovered how to tilt Luigi and eventually be able to skip to the game! It’s honestly a good but also weird feeling to see people take your discovery to beat the game in less than 10 minutes, and also create content like this.
