Quite a shame I just happened to turn on StreetPass this year on a 3DS I had since 2018, though, I am getting a StreetPass every now and then. Just recently I added my Discord tag on the StreetPass message. While it isn't exactly the point, giving the chance to other fellow 3DS gamers to say hi is worth it in times of so few 3DS gamers in the wild.

I remember bringing my 3ds to airports and theme parks and got "tooons" (aka a few too) of people. It didnt occur to me how little people streetpass now until me and my best friend brought ours to disney, around some of the most visited theme parks in the world, and for a whole week we each only got ONE streetpass around 2 years ago. It hurts to see it die but i understand why. I just wish the switch had something similar since a big factor of its success is its portability... anywho really liked this video and i wish i touched grass like this more often lol

I too got my 3DS with 11 years too, on its release day (in february? 2011, definitely a tuesday though!). Weirdly enough, I still consider it "new" 😂 In fact street pass encounters were so rare where I live, whenever I saw that green light I'd just FREAK and cry happy tears 😂

Awesome vid and congrats on the streetpass, I take my 3DS or 2DS everywhere with me each day. Back before nitendo shut down the streetpass relay points I used to make sure I visited at least onece every day (my closest was 5mins from my house, lucky me) which gave be between 3-6 each time, Also back then I made sure to go into my local town center twice a week and visit mcdonalds which had a international relay point where I could get global streetpasses. Ioved it

This was an amazing video! A fun little adventure^^ I wouldn't call myself a gamer. I don't typically play games (especially console based ones) on a regular basis and gaming isn't a big part of my life. And I don't have a 3DS but I do still have my original/first gen Nintendo DS that I got for Christmas one year as well as my Nintendo DSi that I got for my birthday when I was like 13 or 14 maybe. And I occasionally play with them, though my choice of games is fairly limited xD

It was the first streetpass hit since like 2018 (excluding my siblings and my other 3ds) and I was so excited and it motivated me to keep doing it. I enjoyed this video sooo much!! This year I brought my 3ds to the Mississippi Comic Con in Jackson, MS in the US and I actually picked up 11 streetpasses! One was set from the UK. So the moral of this story is that retro gamers hang out in Mississippi, I guess 🤔 😅

I do still have 3DS Regular and gonna upgrade into New 3ds xl because slowdown and when turning Wifi/Streetpass on was getting heat up too fast, it happened once that when I installing a game via FBI while charging and wifi is on, my Memory card was toasted inside (not physically but wont read even usb adapters'.

I loved the 3DS and that's why I was glad to buy the 3DS XL again in 2024 for 20$ and it was the Yoshi Special Edition which I used to own but my mom destroyed it and I managed to fix it before Nintendo Servers shut down, download my exclusive content which I couldn't pirate, then I modded it, did a full backup of the exclusive content to my Google Drive and mailed it to my every mail inbox I own. Funny thing is that I actually accidentally got a street pass today while I was picking up a new replacement battery since the old one was about to deliver a baby and almost cracked the back shell. That's how I decided to search if it's still popular, found your video and it seems that StreetPass is dead but still kinda works and also there is a replacement for it as a homebrew app but I didn't tested it yet. Btw. I loved the drawings at 16:11 :3 I wish I would be that good at "analog" art than on the digital one 😅 Yeah, I'm spoiled with the digital art ever since I started doing it as a hobby on my Wii U btw #2, I wish the StreetPass like feature would come for the Switch since I also own a Switch and really missing this feature.

I have a 2DS where I live and it is very rare that I find a streetpass. I used to go up to my friends and mostly only found my friends, but in total in the small village I live in, I only found 1 streetpass. And now I have seen this video and mostly have been playing on my Nintendo Switch and randomly just found a streetpass. That was the last one I found in 2023, and that made me very happy. Someone did the same as me, and I do not have any idea who this was.Dr Eggman. And a few weeks ago, when playing Mario Kart 8, I found Another Person By The Name Of Dr.Eggman. I have no Idea If it was the same person, but that was the only One I have found In 2023. I have also experimented With Other Things Like putting my discord As a name on Mario Kart 7 And have had 1 person add me in the span of 3 hours, so I guess random People Still have 3DS And 2DS In 2023. The culture has radically since the 2011-2014 era of gaming. Handheld gaming especially in public died due to the advancement of the smartphones and cheaper unlimited data plans. Pretty depressing seeing younger set of zoomers never experience the joy of walking around with 3ds. The 3ds was the soulful nintendo console.
