No offense, I'm a christian too, but some christians really believe they can turn someone's life upside down just by one conversation. But what happens here is an interviewer who talks 90% of the time and two young people just cooperating and giving some honest, but veeery short answers. I've got a few words of encouragement in the midst of what's going on. It might sound wierd, it is for real and I thought it would be important to say it. Its long because I've tried to and any faqs! Hopefully this will answer some of those nagging questions - Why can't evil be forgiven and let off, how is the whole "Jesus dying" thing really relevant to anything? To you? if you still have any questions let me know x Ever struggle? Ever doubt that God Loves You After what you've done? Ever wonder if He exists for that matter? Read this: All of us have lied, stolen (even tiny things count), spoken badly to our parents and had embarrassing and detestable thoughts in our thought life. The Bible calls this "sin", the breaking of God's laws. You might think, so what? Everyone lies and thinks bad things about others! Its human! You're right. That's exactly what the Bible says, we're "born into sin" and that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" - Romans 3:23 What is that "glory", morally speaking? Well, the opposite of human nature and desires. Not lying, not stealing, and having a perfect thought life is God's standard for us. But if its God's standard and we were made in "God's image", Why don't we meet it? Well, Remember Adam and Eve and when they sinned. Before sin they were perfect in thought word and DEED completely, but after the first sin occured due to Satan's tempting in the Garden, it destroyed that part of us that was morally perfect and in perfect harmony with God's morals, standard, and love. So while we kept certain things, the ability to be thinking individuals with unique personalities, the moral part (affecting how our thoughts, actions and personalities operate) was damaged. To the point where we are "opposed" to God, hence His nature and standards being the opposite of what we see as reasonable or possible. The Bible even makes it clear that "apart from God you can do nothing" - John 15:5. Without Him, it will 100% feel "opposite", unreasonable and alien to us. Only WITH Him can we gain victory in these things. Why doesn't God just let sin off and leave it? The Bible describes God as a "righteous judge", many wonder why God doesn't just let sin off and leave it, but He can't. Why? That's like a if a judge let off a murderer who broke the state law. Everyone would attack that judge and call Him corrupt, saying that he had not done right and should be fired for failing to punish the murderer for his evil. AND to completely love and be good as God is, means you need to, in turn, hate all forms of evil. You can't truly love good unless you hate the existence of evil. This means that God needed, as a righteous judge to punish sin with the ultimate penalty of death - expressing His hatred of evil - and separation from His presence forever. Hence Hell. "The soul that sins shall die (in Hell and suffer damnation)" - Ezekiel 18:20 But God, who is also love, did not want to see His creation tortured and cut off from Him. He cares so much for is that He couldn't bear to see us fall into Satans hands and suffer death, even though we broke the law and deserve to bear the guilt, pain and be cut off from perfection forever through damnation. Because of justice, God could not leave sin and evil unpunished, BUT because of LOVE, God provided someone else to take that punishment on our behalf, satisfying both justice (by punishing the evil committed), and love (by sparing OUR lives) despite our sin. God sent His own SON - think about that. His *Son*, the one whom He loved infinitely (the same way He loves us). God allowed Him to take the pain we deserved, He took ALL of Gods wrath for every single sin you and I have committed. He was punished brutally and completely as if He was the picture of mankind's sin itself so that we do not have to be punished. Back in the courtroom scenario: He paid the "fine" at His own expense (His life had to be morally perfect on this Earth, then He had to be killed as a sinless sacrifice on our behalf). So when He returns to remove all evil from the face of the Earth, we can be spared and free because Christ has already BEEN punished on our behalf. He then rose again on the third day, conquering not only life and sin and temptation, but DEATH. "I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live (immortality and eternally in Heaven when I return)" - John 11:25-26 ALL we have to do is accept it by faith. Faith alone in Christ alone. Religion = rules to be saved The gospel = Christ saved us already we just have to believe it by faith. If you lack faith (as I did before), pray. He will make it strong it time. Trust Him as you would trust those close to you. He knows you even better than that. He created you and knows you inside out. ...WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? What does it actually mean for us? It means we can be completely free from the penalty of damnation. Not only that but we can be restored to Him and recreated into His moral image AGAIN as long as we accept Jesus having paid the price for us and accept Him as our Lord, the one who is in the front seat of our lives. He has a plan for your life, He's created you for a purpose. Just remember that. A purpose that includes being recreated into His image, one you can only accomplish through Him and reliance on His power and by following HIS way of life. What is this new way entail? It entails love, true love and service and aid to others, to "love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength" and "love your neighbour as you love yourself" Matthew 22:37, 39. Sharing the message of Christ's death, resurrection and soon return on this Earth to give justice OR mercy depending on what the person chose. Sound "opposite" again? God knows it sounds opposite, which is why, as The Bible states, this is NOT something we can do alone. It's not in our nature. We need a new nature in the front seat, and the first step is to repent (turn from and reject our sin, pursuing the opposite direction and drawing close to God) Christ will give us an actual DESIRE to do these things. Through the, Holy Spirit, sent by Him to us after the ascension. He speaks to us through thoughts, verses, ideas and prayers and guides us so that we gain a desire to follow God and be able to do these "opposite" things through Him. ... What is the way FOR though? Firstly its to save you from sin - the only way to gain victory over sin and not have it as your master is through having Christ as your master and following His aid to resist the devil's temptations. Christ lived down here for 33 years suffering EVERY FORM of temptation that you have ever faced - "who in every respect [has] been tempted as we are, yet without sin" Hebrews 4:15. Therefore He is able to help us through our struggles. When the devil knows people have left his camp, he always tries harder with more temptations and evil attacks. BUT - His way is also there to guard and teach you daily in the midst of this (and despite this) sinful, selfish world. The path He wants you to walk is one of committment and love - its not about rules and regulations to save us - what Christ did GAVE us salvation. All we need is faith. The rest, the "fruits of good works (the will to obey and follow Him)", are what come through true, maturing faith. It's all about faith and the relationship God wants with you just like before sin arrived. God preferred His own Son to be tortured And *killed* to give a chance to us (who broke His law of perfection) so that we can live as His children again. He wants us to love and trust and worship Him. What if I still find myself sinning after I have accepted Christ? That's why Christ died, For our sin. His death doesn't fix us in a snap like that, but it does protect us from the damnation that our past, present and future sins would bring without Jesus. It's a process - a lifelong process - of God bringing you back to Him, away from the destructive pleasures of sin (greed, selfish temptations, trampling on people to gain). This takes a *lifetime*, as it does for all, but NEVER give up, when you fall, know Christ paid for that sin you committed already - just acknowledge your sin and ask for forgiveness - and you can get back up again because He already bore your guilt and shame. Regardless of the darkness you are in or the extent or frequency of the sins you have committed or will commit, regardless of how doubtful you may feel, know that Jesus UNDERSTANDS completely and He is faithful. "those who come to Me, I will by no means cast out" - John 6:37 ...HOW DO I LEARN MORE? Don't know where to start? Note down the Gospel of "John", or "Luke" (if you want a more detailed account of it all). Remember that He will "NEVER - and that means never - leave you, NOR forsake you" - Deuteronomy 31:6 Regardless of what goes on down here, God knows, Jesus has been down here and felt all the emotions you are feeling. You can go to Him with them and be assured that He loves you and is for you. Even in the storm, God is still there, walking on the water alongside you. Keep your heart open to Him and remember that if we pray for Christ to enter our lives, He will. "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only begotten Son, that whomever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life". - John 3:16 Thanks for reading if you did. I just felt that I should tell you regardless. Let me know if you have any more or if you need clarification on anything xxxx

I have shared the Gospel to many atheists in a loving way, and in a reasoning way (I love apologetics) - however, when it comes to mockers like this person in the comments, I think its fait to point at their main issue of arrogance and cynicism rather than trying to convince them of something that they have already made the decision of not believing.

Sometimes in my mind, I make light of things, to make it more humorous. I pray to God to help me not to do this at the wrong time. Jesus is our Lord. I try not to use his name inappropriately. I can't think of ever using His name to cuss, because I don't cuss, to my knowledge. Growing up in a loving Christian family, they trained us early. I remember one time as a kid laughing during communion, and my Dad told me to think of what Christ suffered on the cross so I would be more serious. This has helped me over the years. I just think sometime, I could slip up because I might not be thinking at the time. Being born again, the Spirit lives within, and helps to understand Scripture. He is our Guide. It seems that He works on us in many ways, at different times, bringing about a more Christlike attitude. I bring this up, as I believe as Christians, we need to judge ourselves, so we can allow the Spirit to make changes in our lives where necessary. For His glory. God bless!

I’m glad you posted this because I was sharing the gospel with my neighbor. He is a 71 year old man and I am a 29 year old woman lol so his response was that he “grew out of believing in fairy tales” basically. I asked him if he’s ever said God’s name in vain and he said no. So I said, you’ve never said, “OMG?” And he said, “that’s not saying God’s name in vain because if someone pulled up in a really nice car and I was impressed and used OMG that way, it’s not saying it in a bad way.” I wasn’t really sure how to respond 😐 but I proceeded to share the gospel haha

@mygirlsh654 жыл бұрын
The Cris its not living “sinless” because we all fall short of HIS glory (standards) Romans 3:23. The problem is living a lifestyle of sin and not having a heart to repent (turn from the sin find what GOD says in HIS holy word concerning it and asking HIM to create in you a clean heart and renew a right spirit within you Psalm 51). Many in the body of CHRIST believe because we are under grace it is a licensee to live a lifestyle of sin, however the Bible teaches contrary to this false belief. 2 Chronicles 7:14, 1 Corinthians chapter 6, Romans chapter 6. There many other scriptures that teach about sin in a born again believers life. I hope this helps.

@@browallia8964The Lord told some he healed to go and sin no more lest something worse befall you. He does not condemn us as stated in Romans. He is faithful and just to forgive our sins if we confess them before Him. Being saved does not mean we will not ever sin but we should not be living in sin with a un repentant heart. I want to walk before Him in Holyness. I depend on the Holy Spirit to guide me in my walk. My relationship with the Lord came about when I realized what He did for me while I was living a rebellion against Him. He forgave me much and now He is my everything. 'Blessed be the LORD my strength... My goodness, and my fortress...' (Ps.144:1,2). Saying "OMG" and 'O my goodness' is the exact same thing. How many of Today's Christians think of that? I've heard it from nearly every one for decades, and even from ignorant believers which claim to read their bible "every day"! Apostle Paul writes, 'There is no fear of God before their eyes' (Rom.3:18), and Jesus says that soon 'The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom ALL that offend, and them which do iniquity' (Matt.13:41). I would question whether intent matters in this case. I think a lot of people have grown up hearing OMG used as an exclamation of fear, excitement, anger, etc, and they have followed suit in using it in those contexts the same way they do with all words. I don't think most people are consciously trying to use God's name in these contexts, it's as if the exclamation as a whole means something different than the words themselves. Same thing with bejesus. I think a lot of people do not equate that with the S word when they are saying it, to them the word exclaims "I was scared very badly". So when someone wants to say "I was scared very badly" they have grown accustomed to using that word. What I'm questioning is whether it's the word itself, or the understanding and intent of the speaker that creates blasphemy. Certainly if a non-english speaker was told to say OMG, Bejsus, GD, or any other phrase using God's name and they complied, I don't think we would consider that blasphemy as they have no idea what they said. To them it was gibberish. Can you hold someone accountable for speaking gibberish? Does there need to be knowledge and intention behind what is being spoken? Now I'm sure some people consciously and with intent use God's name and Jesus' name in cuss words and phrases on purpose because they want to. In those cases it's clear that they are blaspheming God, and it would be understandable if they were held accountable to that. If my son said a swear word and did not know what it meant, I would correct him by explaining to him what it meant so he has full understanding. If he then intently said it again after knowing what it stood for, then he'd be in trouble. If my son continued to speak the swear word after he knew what it meant, but out of habit, according to his previous understanding of it's meaning, then I think I would consider that harmless and simply remind him that those words have a different meaning than he is using them, and to be more diligent about his use of language. Thoughts? (P.S love your videos and books)

Sometimes, "oh, my God" is a prayer, not a cuss word. And sometimes those same people will say it a little more carelessly and a little less thoughtfully or prayerfully, and it has a way of seguewaying into OMG, at least on the outside. God knows exactly where we are and what everything we think or say means. I got yelled at once for _not_ saying OMG! I was in desperation about situations in my life, full of anxiety, and in conversation about it with this lady, I said "Oh, me, oh, me oh, me...", deliberately bypassing saying "oh, God", carelessly, to fulfill a need in conversation with another human being, rather than as an actual, 100% private prayer to God. And this hot-headed Italian lady raises up on her hackles to tell me what she _really_ thought of me (and to release the old, Irish temper that was pent up inside): 'Oh, ME? That is EXACTLY what is wrong with you!!! THAT'S your problem!! No, you have REVEALED that your problem is that you depend upon yourSELF, not on GOD!!!' Sometimes, whatever you say is going to be wrong, because it is you who are saying it. But, although it is our responsibility to care about our influence on others, it isn't wrong in Gods eyes, unless it really is. We probably should never use OMG in writing, but let's try to make room for the differences, the nuances, in the ways that people say it. Some clearly say it in contempt of God; with others, it is not quite so clear.
@virtuouswoman75544 жыл бұрын
I like your point. When a human being is surprised or frightened, the words "Oh my God" comes naturally. I've said the phrase many times over the years. I've also felt like the phrase actually points to God's existence because it's what naturally comes out of us when pressed during extraordinary times. The video did not address what is so wrong with this phrase. May the Holy Spirit lead us into all truth. I do want to point out that I do limit this phrase and try not to be Willy nilly with it. But, more clarity is needed on this one. God knows people's hearts and motives and He will judge righteously. But, we should pray and seek God's wisdom in all things. Unbelievers who don't know any better will use this phrase. Any corrections should be done in Love.

Revelation Chapter 21 1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. 5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. 6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. 7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. 8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. 9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife. 10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, 11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal; 12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: 13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. 14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. 15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof. 16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal. 17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel. 18 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass. 19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; 20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. 21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass. 22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. 23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. 24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. 25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. 26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. 27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Can you please pray for me brothers and sisters? I fall back into sin very often and it got worse recently and I'm more and more distancing from god. Im just to weak to resist the temptation, if its there I almost always fall. I prayed often that god would free me from this sin and give me a pure heart but nothing happened (i am a Christian for about one and a half years now). I fear that im not going to make it

I will pray for you. Be encouraged that the Lord who began this work in you will be faithful to complete it. Sanctification is ongoing. We all sin. Each and everyone of us. All of our brothers and sisters in Christ sin... some just hide it better. Ya know, the Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 7:15 - 20 I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good but I can not carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do...this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do , it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin in me that does it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you but that which is common to mankind. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted. he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. I will also be praying for that Jim guy who commented. Do not let him discourage you with his blind nonsense. Love in Christ

I've always wondered why you always asked, "who's Yeshua?" when people would use that name

It's just the hebrew of jesus. Yeshua means salvation or saviour I think? The reason why we get Jesus is because its translated from the Greek texts which is like Iesous I think? Dont take my word for it because I didnt get the greek name correct so if you want to you can search it up. But we get Jesus from the Greek texts

I never knew that OMG was bad to say because I just said it like thinking it stood for oh my gosh but also thought it was oh my God also Maybe oh my gosh is bad also to say.

Well, gosh is euphemism for God.So still the intentions are there and people might take it the wrong way. Therefore, we shouldn't use it.
