I'm a 67 yr old lady and I've been lifting weights since age 22, but very light weights. I decided a month ago I want to start looking really buff. I stepped up my exercise routine and am lifting heavier dumbells. After four weeks my arms, chest and stomach already look improved! I really like this guy's video presentations! Helped me expand my routine nicely!

I'm 67 in April, '22. My only limitation is spinal stenosis. I am a HRT enthusiast - recommend it for any gentleman and woman over 45. I feel great, and wife is attracted to what she sees and feels. My HRT regimine consists of testosterone cypionate, Sermorelin, Clomiphene Citrate, and Anastrozole administered by a sports physician - regular docs won't touch HRT. I get blood tests every 3 months for all levels. My wife is also on HRT with the same sports medicine physician. She feels normal again - in every way, if you understand what I am saying.

Quick question. I noticed that you are shredded and in great shape, but your arm thickness and shoulders seem a little less developed. Is that due to your shredding routine? Not trying to be critical here. Just worried about losing some mass during the shred phase at 65.

@60PlusFitnessJourney4 жыл бұрын
It is definitely possible. I will say this though, I do not believe one needs to incorporate any crazy ab work or high intensity training. Coincidentally I'm 61 and I don't do a lick of ab work and have the best abs I've had in my life. I'm an advocate of 80/20 running...80% of my mileage at a low heart rate and 20% tempo runs. It's simply a matter of diet and a solid, consistent plan.
@geno5169 Жыл бұрын
Back when I was in my 40’s I did alot of running up to 17 miles. Even doing all kind of races.then I got arthritis in my hip.I had to get surgery.now I’m walking a lot. I really miss my running. I also lost my vision. at the of. 47.all I have now is my prefer and really great ears

I've got six pack at 54.... diet and hard work is critical at this age but genetics are a huge factor as well. plus don't let yourself go and gain a lot of weight.. when that weight is lost at middle age the loose skin look will never totally go away even when you get back in shape

Dumbbell side bends and sit-ups? Seriously? What is this, the 1970s? Proven to be useless exercises. And back extensions are a terrible exercise unless you're in really good shape and know what you're doing. Can easily get hurt.
@gunner59164 жыл бұрын
Crunches not “sit-ups”. That’s the difference between the “70’s” and today. Crunches are proven, sit-ups are out.
@trw38654 жыл бұрын
@John Shumate What Gunner is saying is, when you are lying down on the bench, and you sit straight up, there is no contraction on your abs at that point. Would be a lot better if you would start with your shoulders about 4 or 5 inches off the bench, then raise up from there and back down again, always keeping tension on the abs. Old style sit ups are also bad for your lower back, crunches I think would be a lot better. Then for your lower abs, reverse crunches would be the way to go.
