I can only comment on my first impressions of the sonik kit as I don't have them for long when filming them, but all things sonik I can't fault..I use some sonik bits myself. My bivvy is one of theirs and its less than half the price of my previous bivvy and I love it. When it comes to their rods, again, you really can't fault them. I guess with my rods I can only relate it to cars. A standard skoda octavia estate vs a skoda octavia vrs estate. Both carry the same amount of kit inside, but I much prefer rocking up to the lake in my vrs. Call is fashion/pompous but that's how I see it. :)

For 500 quid they should be identical. That to me is just poor craftsmanship. I bought a set of greys aircurve when they first came out and they were the same, 1 tip section fitted better than the other, I sold them on. Ordered a set of hand made century blank rods from rod builder nick Buss, and every little detail was identical between the 3 rods. No way Daiwa quality control should allow such poor work. Flagship rods or just flagship prices. This video has put me off ever purchasing a set of Daiwa rods, so that’s 2 companies on my no go list now.
