This and Independence M193 are probably the hottest commercial 55 grain stuff I’ve run into in recent times. I haven’t ever gotten any pressure issues though and it’s always run fine and reloaded well on my bench after the initial firing. Accuracy for me seems on par with other milspec 55gr loads and I typically get ~1.5 MOA out of majority of my rifles. I’m personally fine with the higher velocities though as it aids in penetration through plates and whatnot plus on soft targets the extra velocity helps the bullet bend and deform at its cannelure causing some nasty wound channels as it yaws and tumbles.

I’ve used about 100 rounds of this and honestly it worked really well and was by far the cheapest when I bought it during a price hike surge last year.
@whatsmolly57412 ай бұрын
I dont buy it unless some horrendously incorrect powder is used. 5 56 is a caliber where the top loads are using 100% + case capacity, the top loads are all already compressed. For a 55g fmj bt using ramshot tac, the top load is 27.3 grains which is literally just filling the case to the top. In order to create an over pressure load to begin with, you would have to fill the case to 100% capacity then take something to hammer the powder down to add MORE POWDER.... and if you ever find yourself doing that then ya reevaluate that load because that's not normal. Also there's a limit to how much you can compress because compressed powder doesn't burn very well. With all that being said if you manage to balance the compression with full burn you still can't really hurt the gun yourself as evident by Kentucky ballistics who legitimately tried to blow up an ar but had to use a squib in the end. That top load for 55g fmj bt out of a 20" is 3450 so ya that load is no where near over pressure. I load ss109 faster than that.
@donwyoming19362 ай бұрын
This load is pretty mild for M193. The spec is 3250 fps from a 20 inch barrel. Like you, my reloads are around 3400 fps, and I'm not at a max load.

@BuffRANGE2 ай бұрын
The whole .223/5.56 is a muddy mess, but GENERALLY speaking US BORN and RAISED .223 Remington, is velocity rated from 24" barrels, vs 5.56 NATO being done from a 20" barrel. (PMC Bronze in .223 Rem, as a lower velocity than their PMC XTAC Line) However the market throws around terms like "M193" and "5.56 NATO" so much that there's never a clear cut answer as to what you're going to get velocity wise, and typically why I end up reviewing something. The wise thing to do is that if you have a .223 Remington Chambered barrel is to NOT shoot things marked 5.56 NATO through it. If you have a 5.56 NATO marked chamber or .223 Wylde you can shoot BOTH. Those scenarios are also quality control dependent on how close to spec manufacturers are producing their wares :D
@harrypeterson92872 ай бұрын

@@harrypeterson9287 European manufactured ammo and there 5.56 and .223rem are cip proofed with same pressure. Most likely by old legal reasons all ammo just happen to be marketed as .223 but by velocities are par with 5.56.
@harrypeterson92872 ай бұрын
@@Kesssuli That's where things get confusing. 5.56 and .223 are tested from their respective chambers but both have the same max pressure limits. The chambers are different though, the 5.56 has a non-constricted/unrifled section of the barrel called a lead that lets the bullet jump ahead out of the case freely then impact the rifling, this reduces chamber pressures by a considerable amount. With .223 chambers the bullet is essentially going to immediately have to swage down and engage the rifling without that runup or initial pressure relief the lead provides.
@Kesssuli2 ай бұрын
@@harrypeterson9287 I know how technically those arent fully indentical but i guess those pressure spikes are taken to account when manufacturing true .223 rifles. Most european countries use cip proof so .223 chamber have to pass same stress than 5.56. But if that throat actually gives extra that would mean that either .223 chambers are machined to bit loose or strong enough to withstand more than normal overpressure round.
@Kesssuli2 ай бұрын
