I drove on the expressway at high speeds almost 135 km/hr with cruise control on. Hope engine remains fine. Car servicing was done before going for the trip. I usually get the engine oil changed every 5k to 6k of running

Engine damage due to high RPM? No, driving your car at high RPM does not damage your engine. A red bar on the dashboard in relation to the rpm does not mean that it will break down or the engine will be damaged, but indicates the maximum rpm and according to vehicle engineering - engines are designed to operate far beyond the limits of the specified red line without damage, for example in a race.

Revving the engine at high rpm's constantly will definitely reduce the mileage(total kms run before overhaul) of the engines, irrespective of how well the engine is maintained.

As an example, the Toyota Altis 1800cc petrol has a short gearing. 100 kph in 5th gear is at 2900rpm (my car does 100 at 2850). On long highway trips one cannot help but drive at this RPM constantly. I have been using fully synthetic oil for engine and gearbox all along. Can I drive constantly at a slightly higher RPM like say 3000?

Yes just make sure nothing is damaged or worn out too much . 4000 revs is considered the sweet spot, anything under that constantly is safe

Engine oil change as per manual its every 10000km or 1 year whichever comes first-- but I driven only 5000km in 1 year- engine oil color is also good- it's not changed to black- still is it required to change engine oil??
