Show us the build in seperate videos and an all in one, all those views on the time lapse video are from non subscribers that want a quick fix or are looking for something in particular, you probably gained a lot of subscribers during the transit van conversion series, so to do a new budget micro camper series makes sense for all the people that subbed during that time and the channel growth.

I I just turned my Fiat Panda into a micro camper. I can sleep in it, it has a single gas burner and a small folding stool. I made window coverings with small magnets. Works like a charm! I would definitely love to see how you make a conversion too. I hope your van is repaired quickly and not too expensively. Good luck!

It would be very interesting to learn what the verdict is on the fuel pump when it is repaired and put back on the van. Is it just incredible coincidence and bad luck or...? I went in our workshop to see if I could find a Transit of this era to test my theory but alas there wasn't one. But I do recall there being little room around the alternator and I'll still put my money on one of them at ******** either undoing a fuel pipe or even- shock horror- levering it out the way to put the alternator in. It is true that Transits aren't as bullet proof as they used to be but this list of failures is exceptional.

Love the idea of a second van!do it!!!! I’ve been considering doing a van and want to do a VW caddy sized van. Looking specifically at the ex rear wheelchair access van and converting it as it has a lower central floor for better headroom. Rip out the ramp and loads of headroom in a little stealth van. Can’t find any content on KZbin so guess nobody’s doing this or they don’t know about this… ???check them out.

Pity that the transit is still off the road. It's annoying when you want to go away and you can't as the van is stuck in a garage. My transit ran fine on the way to work on Thursday then suddenly went into limp mode with no faults on the reader so a call to a garage who can't look at it for a week. A channel where you build vans for a living would be awesome

I think the Euro 6 vans seem more hassle than the older ones. All this DPF and EGR stuff.

Unfortunately DPF and EGR go back at least as far as the Euro 4 vans so you're not likely to find a van without them unless you buy a classic. Adblue is the one that came in with Euro 6.

@@misterthegeoff9767 Ah right. Well my Toyota Rav4 from 2011 has never had a single issue like VWs and others seem to have. It has no DPF as far as I know. It's a 2.2 diesel.

Nonsense.ford cars and vans are still superb.it is unfortunate he seems to have bought a bit of a dud but in no way are modern fords any worse than any other brand out there and they infact look better and drive better than most others.i have driven many 100s of thousands of miles in these vans with very few problems other than wear or tear items.

I've driven large and small and agree, you can drive a Vivaro or a transit custom like it's a car pretty much and park in a normal parking space but the full size vans you have to start taking corners wide, taking up 2 spaces in the car park etc.

The best option is the high Trafic/Vivaro LWB with a 2-liter diesel engine.If you are under 190 cm tall.

Myself and my partner are looking to do small cheap van conversion for stealth camps so a how to guide from a pard who knows what he's doing is exactly what we need (even stuff like whats a suitable van, most cost effective materials to use etc)! As much as I understand there's the initial financial outlay from doing another conversation I think the views and attention you can get on here and maybe on TikTok would defo justify the money. Plus it'll be a laugh to watch!

I love my little van. We did it really cheap. It's an old transit, but it's been bomb proof apart from a turbo hose coming off. It's been really cheap to, loads of recycling and using old off cuts from other home projects. But I can't wait to see what you do.

I love watching Van Builds. I'd do something that is within reason for the majority of people. Not everyone has 10k to drop. Set a budget of say 5k for EVERYTHING. And then maybe a video of excellent park ups for different areas of the UK

If you look at the forums about the 2018 onwards Ford Transit you will find they have a multitude of problems. The main one being related to the timing belt. This rubber belt runs in the engine oil, this can break down the belt and the rubber then travels around the engine causing havoc with the internals. I know there are hundreds of transits waiting for new engines. Some are being replaced by Ford under warranty but many owners are having to pay themselves. Ford are reluctant to talk about this problem and some owners are turning to the courts.

You could do with getting into the mechanics of it too, if you fix the mechanical problems yourself you'll save again, after all time is money in that sense you're learning a new skill that will be valuable in the future, if you have done a job once you can do it again yourself, steep learning curve but whats the worst that can happen, i.e if your van breaks down have a go at fixing yourself first if you succeed you save a load of money if you don't your no worse off take it to the garage and pay what you would have paid in the first place.

I have a 4x4 that I can over-night in plus I have a trailer with a roof tent as a choice. It's fun and flexible. More like camping than vanlifing. However, during the process of doing this, in the last 15 years of owning it, I have complete confidence (now) in my ability to fixing ANYTHING myself. There's nothing I won't have a go at. So there's a vein of honest content to be mined there if you dive in.

The mk8 has widely been acknowledged to be an utter disaster of a van :( Lots of us with RWD vans have gone down the BMW M57 engine swap route to get rid of the only real troublesome part: That frigging engine!

Regarding the smaller camper van build would be a good idea on the cheap not only for yourself just in case you can’t use your transit but for other folk who are looking to do the same would be brilliant. I myself am coming to near the end of my trafic build not so much for camping/sleeping although I could if wanted but for more like days out and about. So yes I’d say go for it Sean absolutely it’ll help others even though there are lots of videos out there but these would be your ideas and plans how you do yours because not everyone builds the same. We sold both our cars and bought a run around car and the van plus all our savings and a bit of a loan. So we didn’t start building till the end of last year. But already things take a lot longer and cost a lot more than you think.

I'd love to see you do another little van. Watching you in that old Vivaro is what caused me to upgrade from my Peugeot Partner to a Vivaro of my own and I am nearly 4 grand into the build so far so cost cutting tips are welcome! Biggest costs so far though have been windows, the solar and electric setup and not sure I could have cheaped out more on them without making some uncomfortable trade offs.

Due to the rising cost of campervan insurance (mines a self build, van with windows), I'm thinking of gutting my built in furniture and going for a Fishing bed chair (got a FOX Bed Chair Royale R3 Camo XL already, comfy as F***) and using storage boxes and fold down worktops and portable camping cookers. I still have my 2x 110amp lithium batteries and an 80amp B2B but if I was starting from scratch I'd use an Ecoflow Delta pro as they can be charged at EV charging stations as well as by solar. Have you ever been to The Devils Frying Pan down there Shaun, I went once & was told its got a heavy suicide rate. To keep it really cheap you could get a small van & just put a dunny & a camp bed in there. I personally do like the idea of seeing you convert another van though mate, but do what ever is best for you.

It’s so annoying - van issues - my husband had a vivaro for many years and just scrapped it when he retired - 250 thousand miles on it - a real work horse - drove in in to the scrap yard and we did feel 😢- but it had done a great job it was second hand , but great- always a risk what ever you buy. Yes get another van - we converted the boxer ourselves to high spec for about 11k. Chin up 👏

I think it's what you want to do so get another, do it up using your previous experiences with the others as a guide to getting it right first time & put a video out of the complete process. And somehow find time to go on little trips wild camping & getting in the wet stuff! 🌊
