Both gorgeous knives. I think I like the lines of the 31 a bit more. A 31 with Mammoth molar and rainbow damascas, now we're living! ( and bankrupt). Thanks for the vid.

I received an iMamba in Mammoth Molar about a month ago. I absolutely love it. The Arno Bernard Rinkhals is the best modern slipjoint in my opinion. It is a good alternative to the Mnandi.

I prefer the looks of the inlays on the 21 vs the 31. The curve in the butt doesn't match the lines of the knife and the way they chopped it off so it doesn't cover the logo looks hacked. So for looks, i'd say Imamba. For the person who collects high end edc knives, the Imamba wins for it's rarity and use of exotic materials. It'll be interesting to see a plain jane working model of the Imamba and where they price it.

both nice pieces but the imamba definitely looks more refined. that said i prefer washers and thumb studs over flipper & bearings.
@jamesstephenson234611 ай бұрын
Then get washers. They sell em both ways, and you dont need to get a flipper either.

Are the Arnold Bernard knives right hand only? Pretty much ends any debate on which to purchase on that one thing alone for me.
@Kevinclearysharpstuff3 жыл бұрын
They have only done one run of 50 so I suspect there is a good chance that if they got requests they may do it.

If it weren’t for the flipper tab and bearings I would easily take the imamba over the 31. I’m just not a fan of those 2 things, but that mammoth tooth is incredible!

One big benefit of the CRK is the spa treatment and warranty service - doing that with the imamba would be near impossible or super expensive

I own multiple sebenzas and would love to have ths imamba just to experience it but feel like I would have to pick the sebenza over it for actual use. The mammoth tooth inlays are incredible but without the inlays I think the imamba, even at its lower price level would lose alot of appeal and uncaged bearings are a downside imo
@jamesstephenson234611 ай бұрын
They arent uncaged and havent been for years. They also come with washers if you choose. I own both, the sebenza is a gas station knife in comparison.

Nice knife but its really just a Sebenza copy with bearings. Reliability and simplicity is what makes the Sebenza so good. Never understood bearings on knives that you actually use in the field. What's the point? You are just adding a weak spot...

I wish I had a clue what you’re talking about… on a serious note I’m one of the largest knife collectors in my country and I still can’t understand half the terminology you use. 8 and 3 8th inches, 4 and 13 16ths… what on earth is this nonsense!!! Can Americans not just use mm like the rest of the world. I feel like a need to be an Algebra professor to understand basic dimensions! 22 thousands behind the edge??? I’m sorry, what?
@Kevinclearysharpstuff2 жыл бұрын
Im Canadian and we mostly use metric but I have worked in construction for so long that a think in imperial so I just use that since most of my audience is also familiar not sure where your from but I guess you were never a British colony

Lovely stuff and great review. I’m South African, so Arno is in my backyard. Have a number of family members in Canada and always laugh the way Canadians interchange Metric and Imperial, it’s rather confusing to me. We’re strictly Metric, so when talking of fractions of inches I’m lost completely. Still not sure what something like 22,000th behind the edge means?
