Summer is finally here in Montreal the weather is finally hot! Love, love it. Too warm to spend too much time in the kitchen cooking. Love your baking vids. I’m better at baking than cooking.i will check out the dried fruits at my store here, the Great Value brand is very reasonable because it’s a no name brand.

Thanks for sharing. My mom never boil her fruits she would soak them for about 3 to 4 mths in wines etc then grind them and soak again with more wines and rum she would put a lot when ahe bake her cake I can't remember her adding more wines after the cake is baked. HAPPY TO learn this other way.

I enjoy watching your videos. You taught me something new about washing your dried fruits. I just read on the sun-maid raisins packaging that the raisins are stemmed and may occasionally contain grape stem or wood pieces wow. That’s probably what catches on our teeth. My grandmother had fruits soaking year yo year. She just kept adding as time goes or if she used any. I remember the smell. My aunts use to eat some right out the batch.

Never too early . The longer the fruits soak the better the cake tastes. I agree rinsing the fruits is important. The sand in it can ruin your tooth filling . Thank you fuh sharing.
