Yes Ms. Debs it's true. I like eating raisins and I had that experience chewing on sand-like. I learn to wash them out before using them in my cake. It's the time of the year. Thanks for sharing that lovely recipe. One of my favorite. Stay safe Ms. Debs you and family.

Summer is finally here in Montreal the weather is finally hot! Love, love it. Too warm to spend too much time in the kitchen cooking. Love your baking vids. I’m better at baking than cooking.i will check out the dried fruits at my store here, the Great Value brand is very reasonable because it’s a no name brand.

Thanks for sharing. My mom never boil her fruits she would soak them for about 3 to 4 mths in wines etc then grind them and soak again with more wines and rum she would put a lot when ahe bake her cake I can't remember her adding more wines after the cake is baked. HAPPY TO learn this other way.

Really liked your personality, easy to follow tutorial. I was taught to peree my fruits, I did like doing because it caused the black cake to be pudding like. I will definitely try your way. Do have a bless holiday.

I enjoy watching your videos. You taught me something new about washing your dried fruits. I just read on the sun-maid raisins packaging that the raisins are stemmed and may occasionally contain grape stem or wood pieces wow. That’s probably what catches on our teeth. Thank you for sharing this quick tips

I was just about to ask if Pricesmart start carry Great Value brand 😄. Yes that happen to me but I always thought it was the seeds from the raisin get away in it. No it's not too early the longer it soak the richer your cakes. Blessings to the JCJF 🙏🏼💞

Good morning mrs debbie, i don't bake but i enjoyed watching you soak the fruits. I like when me have fruit cake everything blend out so i can't see the fruits or taste it, not a lover of fruits whole. Lol. But i like when you can taste the alcohol in the cake yum.

My grandmother had fruits soaking year yo year. She just kept adding as time goes or if she used any. I remember the smell. My aunts use to eat some right out the batch.

Never too early . The longer the fruits soak the better the cake tastes. I agree rinsing the fruits is important. The sand in it can ruin your tooth filling . Thank you fuh sharing.

I admired how clean you’re. Because most chef doesn’t wash th eir hands or anything . I have seen it with my naked eyes . I’m home chef myself. I washed and cleaned everything I was brought up in the country old fashioned girl. I give you a thumb up for cleanliness.
