Is it too late for CS2 investments?

In 2021 I bought Stockholm and “Fast Banana” stickers from the community capsule. Stockholm tanked cause of Paris and my fast banana went 100x. If there’s one thing I know about this market, is that it’s wildly unpredictable and super saturated with people that have money but don’t know what to buy so they dump it into random stuff. I would agree that the opportunities are getting smaller for sure. Regardless I flipped my sapphire for some marble fades and made a pretty penny, operation skins I purchased are 2-4x in ~6 months and maybe some other things I haven't noticed. It's not a money making machine currently but I still feel comfortable keeping my money in this market.

Renting will kill the need of people to buy skins, 4-5 months sticker sales will kill the need of people to buy stickers from the market ( aside those old few rares), having new case collections in the market like forever like Anubis will kill the future collections investment etc. Valve tries to take over and is aggressive on that. How this unfold, we will see but definitly is against us at all fronts. Opportunities will be there but way fewer

saying its not too late to buy gives me bitcoin vibes, and is absolutely true. Ive lately been sticking with low supply unique items like riptide stickers and the hello stickers, kinda high risk investments that can pay off huge if they find their niche. I still really like the Rox holo considering the chinese and US markets are essentially cut off from one another, without buff to make things easier for chinese people they may need to get creative with how to get them if they end up using a lot of them

I personally don't see riptide stickers are "high risk" but maybe it would be good to take another look at them. I'd say you're in a pretty good position overall depending on the price you paid for the rox holos

@ptreeNA oh I was referring to the hello stickers as risky, the riptide stickers I feel are atleast a safe investment. I paid probably around 200 usd per rox (oof), but I feel like nothing fundamentally has changed about them, and this situation with basically 2 different markets going on could really squeeze the supply of certain items. Aside from that, Rox is probably also probably at its floor right now. I'm just really curious what happens with the whole buff situation

Fracture being removed? Honestly for me, It won't since there isn't an active case that could replace it that has the same rares as that one. Shattered web has the same knives but that thing is damn expensive that people wouldn't dare to open unless you're sitting on millions of disposable income. Therefore if valve would try to remove fracture then they must first add a case that houses the same knives to ones that their going to remove.

incorrect, the price of a case that share the same knives is not important. Look for example at the glove case, the only alternative is the hydra case, which is very expensive.

personally just waiting to see how things play out. csfloat is the frontrunner for western traders, gamerpay, skinport, buff market, new csmoney marketplace, skinbid and so on kinda lurk in the shadows and we can see if any of them make big moves to attract users. As for the discrepancy between western and chinese markets it's hard to say if/how it will play out as buff liquidity has gone down drastically in the last few weeks... I personally believe the impact will be minimal long term but leaning towards negative more than positive. Not having a united market hurts flipping high supply items for sure

I am late to the party but just wondering what cs2 item investors think about what happens when the game starts dying because valve move on and everyone panic sells everything. Its going to be such a massive crash with not enough players to buy up all the stuff. I think people really underestimate what others are holding and how this will effect the trading in the future. People think oh i have 50k invested and it keeps growing, but that 50k is literally worthless if you cant actually cash in on it and when everyone ends up trying to cash it its going to be a mess.

There's no way they'd release the train 2021 collection in a souvenir package. They'd just do the same thing they did with Inferno 2018 and Nuke 2018 or Anubis.

why not? the old collection already has souvenirs and if train gets added to the map pool after the next major it seems unlikely that they would scrap the new one without ever having souvenir drops. Not saying you're wrong, it's all just theory, but I would be surprised if we see a 3rd train collection

@@ptreeNA The last collection that got a souvenir package that doesn't have consumer grade skins was Cache I believe. This collection doesn't even have industrial grade skins. They would also make a ton more money from adding a 2024 Train Collection Package to the ingame store. I don't see a reason why Valve would want it that way.
