Tiv people are so nice people in hospitality. I did my NYSC there and almost got married my nice Tiv girlfriend if not for my travel abroad. I served in Mbaduku community in Tsar. I love that tribe more than any other tribes in Nigeria. I really really miss that wonderful village. 😢 😘

Am very keen and interested in this very important topic. Being a Benue man of Idoma extraction, i have been embarrassed and insulted on several occasions by people of other tribes, especially the Igbo people of the South East that we Benue people and in particular Tiv people give out their wives to visitors as hospitality. Yes, we are very hospital people in Benue State but dont accommodate such barbaric culture. Therefore, your video come at the right time to dispel this evil stigma against the good people of Benue. Thank and God bless you

I met my grandparents and also lived with them as well as my parents. From all their lifetime (grandparents) till date there has been no trace of fact to validate these false allegations made by people. I remember in 2014, I left Anambra for Benue during a holiday to ask them about this and my parents and grandparents only laughed at me saying I shouldn't be worried over what people say in the form of fake stories. The Tiv people are very hospitable but will NEVER let a visitor have or share the same bed with their wives. It has never happened and will not either. As a proud married TIV man, I'll never in my entire life give my wife to a visitor. And no visitors will even think of requesting for such. That will be the end of your relationship with my family. Thanks for making this educational documentary. Lots of people need this information. You've done well and I'm always happy viewing your content 🎉

Thank you so much for your beautifully written comment. Chimamanda thought of the Tiv people when she wrote her “Danger of a Single Story.” This narrative has gone on for years and it’s sad how people continually run with it. It has become imperative that we tell our own stories so that people will stop telling fake ones on our behalf. Thank you so much for watching as always.

My Sister! I don’t know how much to thank you for this video. 11 years ago at my doctoral dissertation defense in US this became one of the points of constellations. Oohhh! Akile Torugh😁( not sure I spelt it currently.) I remember baba who owned St. Michaels Schools. He loved me a lot. He’d always lift me up and gift me cash whenever he saw me going to school. He was fond of carrying a bunch of keys in his hand. I always looked forward to seeing him so that I could play with the keys.😁 #memories. I didn’t know you were my complete homie sis. Hugs🤗

This is the best documentary I've seen in recent times. I have had to discredit by explaining to throw more light on this issue. But in the case I couldn't, I just encourage that fellow to pay a visit to Tiv man and try that with the wife.

It’s funny how no one has ever come out to say he was offered. It’s always hearsay.😁 Thank you so much for watching brother.

Good work. I heard of the act and the way it was said would make anyone believe. But now, you have clarified it that it was not true and it is not true. Congratulations!!!

Thanks for making this documentary Doris. I have been re-educated with the right information because I used to think it was true. I am a millenial Igbo woman, so imagine how the misconception has been passed on. Now I wonder the numerous misconceptions other tribes have of the Igbo people. Numerous I guess😅
