Just writing to let you know that Norlha, who make the scarf you wear at 2:05, the one you describe as looking like Lemaire, is actually a proudly Tibetan designer, made by artisanal Tibetan weavers, in Ritoma, ancient Tibet. I think it's important to differentiate this from rural China, as you describe it. There are a lot of Indigenous cultures and groups in what is now called China, due to Chinese imperialism, but I think at the very least we can be thoughtful about celebrating the makers, artisans and designers that are trying to preserve culture and jobs against the tide of Chinese cultural imperialism.

i'm finding the hardest part about wanting to second hand luxurious pieces within the same style realm as yours feels limited by my size. at one point i was a 0-4 & didn't realize how accessible it was to blindly thrift & take chances until i had what felt like a second wave of puberty & now im a size 10. i still mostly second hand shop but mostly in person which can be tiring. if anyone's in the same boat, shoot me your tips ❤️ loved the video rachel. i'm always left inspired when we get to have an internet chat. it's akin to when you get to spend time with your elusive cool auntie during the holidays because that's the only time she's not busy hahaha.

for me its about knowing my measurements so i can buy more confidently online, and using the filter by size feature on TRR, ebay, etc so that you only see stuff that will likely fit you... i feel you though

@@RETROhannahh i would also say if you’re curvy, and you’re needing to buy larger sizes but it’s not flattering to your shape. TAILOR IT. tailor to the smallest parts of your body like your waist. i think large fits don’t hug the body well so you gotta invest on your clothes and have a few expensive pieces that really suit you and you can wear as a kinda uniform that is custom to your body. i think it’s so chic.
