My 8200 coworkers and I work hard every day to build these awesome trucks. You might say, 'What the, 80k for a truck?' I agree that is a lot of money to some people. That's also the reason why it's a platinum edition! It has damn near everything, as you clearly see in this video. Most people don't pay anything near this, as you could easily imagine. But ask yourself, would you have watched this video if it said mid-range and comparably equipped $45k F-350? Probably not. People want proud American made products, but don't want to pay American wage prices.

Putting them into a big truck opens a new market for me. The extended cab gas SRW xlt still fits the need of the "working man". This truck is targeting people like myself. I live in a upper class almost non existent crime rate area in Michigan and for 80-90k I can get a 1500-1600 sqft house in good condition easily. Not every state has the same real estate values as California. I would say 1500-1600 sq ft is far from a "little shack" when it's big enough for an entire family.

Jack Cloutier the truck will last longer than all the other super Dutys built. The electronics and control modules will be the problem. Modules require programming and are very expensive. Plus a diesel engine can range anywhere from 12 to 25k. I would worry more about the cost to repair it then the actual truck lasting 30 40 plus years.

I have a 2005 f250 super duty. Dealer cost almost $40k, my credit union cost $36k. XLT package, 8 foot bed. I haul a 18 foot gn horse trailer. This truck has done everything promised, I like it. It can haul 19k pounds, my max , 15k pounds. The 2017 29k tow capacity, with aluminum body. The truck handled well for the 16 hour drive. I really like the 2017 f250. For me, it will be about $50 -60k. Same XLT package. I like all the new cameras, especially the bed camera! The 7th camera, for backing up trailer, is about $250 -350 extra add on. It does have a locked box, under back seat. Good for wallet, gun, etc. The electronics, great upgrade! The super duty has a really stiff suspension, had to get used to that. Hard on bad CA fwys. I'm hoping Ford improved this. All in all, the 2017 Super Duty's are a really, really nice truck. It comes down to extra, $20k I want to spend???? Great review btw. 😃

My uncle went online on Fords build and price page. He went threw and ordered it in platinum, and also ordered it with every option for interior and exterior. And it was 2017 platinum F450 4x4. The price was a little over $80k. That he wrote them a email saying that he wanted a 4:56 rear end. He paid a extra 1k for that. That and also with diff lock. His is a gold color and platinum. It is really nice. He give them cash. And paid full price. The diff lock was also an extra 1k dollars. That and he had them rust proof the frame and also had something done with the aluminium body to keep it from caroding or rust or whatever happens to aluminium. I do like the center automatic shift. And the 4wd and diff lock works excellent. He is a farmer. And drives threw high snow and muddy fields. So hopefully this year it works well. He ordered it last week. Me and him cannot wait to see it.

I bought a 2003 F250 with 82K original miles on it, its super clean, loaded with leather and all. I tinted the windows, put in a touch screen stereo with backup camera and bluetooth. Did some upgrades on the lights, grill and mirrors to newer style F250 and put new 18 inch modern wheels and tires on it and I'm in it for a total of $17k all said and done. It tows my 13k pound 5er like there is no tomorrow and runs and looks great. I'll keep the other $63k plus tax and interest in my bank account thank you very much. Fools and their money soon part. Don't get me wrong, if you make bank then have at it but I know for a fact that over half the people who buy these trucks make less money then I do and have to work all month long to make the payments.....I'll take a vacation and enjoy myself in my new paid for truck! I made one payment, the day I bought it. lol.

Best truck I've ever had 2001 f350 super duty. 7.3 power stroke. She's still working. Has 210.000 on her only. Time for some body panels but hands down she's been the best ever. Have gone through many diesels , dodge , gmc 6.6 and a few dodge gassers but hands down the super duty pays for herself when you put em to work. $80 plus grand tho. Ouch !!!!! And to think they will only start costing more. 2020 f350 ---- 150,000????? Ha ha. Nice vid champ

It's probably worth mentioning that sitting inside of the F250/F350/F450 will be very familiar coming from an F150 because it shares the same exact cab as the F150. Obviously they change everything from the firewall forward, but the actual cabin, is the same.

CJ Colvin You can avoid being in the shop 24/7 simply by servicing your vehicle on time and not running it on cheap oil, its not that hard. The design of the 96 F150 originated from 1989, so it was pretty dated for the 90's. 199 HP and 270 lb/ft of torque is disappointing for a 5.0L V8, so quit trying to cheer yourself up. And if old trucks are so good, then why are most of them have been rotted out and forgotten about?

I bought the truck back in Wentzville MO back in October of 2015 for $3300 with my own money by working two summer jobs, taking care of my neighbor's dog, also having birthday money, Christmas money, and graduation money so that way I don't have to be in huge dept unlike you would with a new car or truck. Have fun paying all of the payments on you're $80,000 truck and yes I still see a lot of these old trucks on the road still going strong and running like champs they'll take more miles than these new trucks will ever do. Yes the body style was made in 1980 but yet it stills looks better than anything you see on the road today and plus it makes you look and feel like a real true American.

But yea I got the last year of the 5.9 Cummins and has no Emissions on it other than a Cat and a muffler. No EGR, No DPF, Do DEF and I dont know what else they throw on there now days but its all garbage

If I had the money sure I'd buy a new powerstroke loaded out. But that doesn't mean that I'm not going to use it for what it's for. Trucks are getting more and more expensive as they are putting more and more technology into them, and making them have all these luxury car features/ interiors. Do you need heated, cooled, and massaging seats when you're towing a trailer...? No of course not. Do you ever need them at all in any sort of vehicle? No. But it's nice to have, and that's what more and more people are expecting out of their truck. Do these features make these trucks less capable? No. Expensive, but that's about it

I plan on buying a new XLT gasser for $50,000 for a slide in camper. I don't tow and it has everything I need. Used models are hard to come by when you don't want a diesel, need a long bed for a specific camper, need the camper package, need the off road package, and desire some extras that would cost more to install aftermarket, like running boards and roof lights.

Title is a question ---> answer is "no". Almost without an exception on youtube. Important questions for a pickup: Can you put a 4x8 sheet of plywood flat in the bed? Can you put the material for building a fence in the bed? How does it drive fully loaded? How does it do on an icy road when empty? How much extra for the "properly equipped"? Just so we know what the price is for a "class leading" truck. BTW: My bicycle has "class leading" towing ability. By excluding all the things that work better for a purpose, you can always make your product "class leading" For $80K you can buy two box trucks. They could deliver material to two job sites at the same time.
