so true about the whole "professionals start to do things amateurs are taught not to do" like in counter strike pushing through a smoke to catch a team off guard... if you do it at a low rank and it works, "you got lucky", if you do it at a low rank and you die, "you're a noob" if you do it at a high rank and it works, "omg you're a god", if you do it at a high rank and you die, "how did you get this rank you fucking idiot"

Hey Philip, first off all i want to say that you are a great inspiration for me and I want to tell you the many ways you impress me. I always wanted to express the feelings I have about quite a lot of thoughts I had in mind but couldn't or didn't feel the need to express. I have the feeling that you share the same opinion as me on many topics. After I watched some rants from you I think that you are a great and layered person who I want to experience myself. The originality that you bring with your videos is refreshing. You make me consider bringing some own thoughts on paper that I would have otherwise never thought about writing down. I hope you won't stop doing some deeper videos about yourself and your thoughts next to the other formats you do (which I also enjoy) and I wish you the best in your life and future.

i dont even know how to respond to something like this, i dont want to sound like a 8 yr old pewdiepie fan boy but this is really really amazing. Not just this video, which is almost everything that i have though about on the subject is terms that i can organize my train of thought, but the entire chanel is very amazingly made its a great mix of gaming videos, little effort and in the momment commentary, and legit quality content which isnt as cool to show to your friends, but i love everything about this chanel it has jokes which and built up for a while and need you to pay attention to understand and find funny ( the oppsite of vine and other stupid things which peoples attantion span doesnt run out before the end of) it also has well done comedy interspirced through out the video. As someone who makes videos ( for my school not youtube ) i understand that philip probably doesnt even try to do most of this. Which makes it was much better then if he was. Kinda circling around in my argument and stating to do things which are then counterproductive to do but... like this chanel a small group of people will like and agree with what i say. And that is good enough for me. Keep up the good work philip your amazing

I like watching your content, because you speak what's on my mind, and (at least for 5 minutes at a time) I don't feel so alone and not-understood/misunderstood... It's like the whole video (which is based on your experiences) would have been based om mine! Mind blowing... I'd really like to have a chat with you one day, but I fear we'd run into the same walls as you've mentioned... me having very similar experiences to yours, but at the same time being a few years younger than you (soon 22), would most likely result in a pretty boring conversation for you, as I probably would have very little stuff to tell you, which hasn't happened to you yet, or ideas to share with you, which haven't come to life in your head already... but I think the differences in our surroundings and upbringing would make it so that we ourselves differ enough to have a couple hours long conversation without either of us getting bored... I could start quoting lines from this video, and providing examples of how and when did I experience it in real life, but that would go on forever... your experiences and conclusions after experiencing them are beyond relatable for me...

I think it's OK to be good at something. You can teach other people how to become as good as you, and then you would have more competition = more fun. Except, it would take time to teach, and once the pupils master the skills you already had, you suddenly get better over time, but that doesn't necessarily mean that you won't be able to get defeated again... But that is not the case with my brother, since I am always better than him, but he's only 5, he plays "Whack-A-Zombie" with a crowbar and grenades. Yes, it's Half-Life I'm talking about. I'm even making him a special training map. And the best thing about being very good at something is the fact that people that are good at something sometimes help people who aren't as good. At least when it comes to topics like mapping, coding etc.

There are so many things I want to do, I'll never be able to do them all (especially competently). I can't simultaneously be depressed about that and this at the same time, they inherently conflict. The whole "growing up" thing is something I decided against when I wasn't yet in any danger of it, and so far I've remained steadfast on that. I'm quite happy about that. Otherwise yes, "it's lonely at the top," and if you say that it sounds like a brag.

well there is always the fact that by getting good at something you can help others interested in that thing get better at it. as an example a sufficiently skilled counter strike player can in theory through making videos or through discussion help a new player learn the positions on maps they need to watch and where and when they should throw smokes and flashes when moving to a certain bombsite on a specific map. basically when you have finally gotten good at something so good that you either cannot advance any farther or going any farther wouldn't be any fun you can help other reach that point.

That's how sticking to unpopular things that are once popular feels like. There are small communities making and doing things that are truly incredible in those communities, but outsiders have no idea what makes certain things better than others. These incredible things either are too esoteric to comprehend or too complicated to bother comprehending. I still play Line Rider, a game that was popular with 12 year olds in 2007. In the community those that are left have made truly incredible tracks that take months of hard work that only 50 people will ever see. Is being really good at something no one appreciates worth it, or does it pay off to follow other roads that are less enjoyable but get more attention? It probably feels great being top of a leader board in a popular game, but does it feel the same being the best at a game few people even remember? Personally, I play these older or lesser known games because I like being isolated from large groups. There is always a fear that the game could die at any time, but less toxic behavior makes them more enjoyable communities to be apart of.

Well, nothing changed, I´m still boring and (probably because flying meant more to me, than the girl) lonely, but at least I can talk about something that noone understands for hours whenever I get wasted just probably because I enjoy listening myself. In this activity, you can never master anything to 100%, you can fuck up your landing everytime, no matter if you fly for year or century, that´s the fun part

This is THE reason why a lot of people in online games are butthurt. However, there are some nice guys who help others out, kinda like a cooler version of god, or something similar, like some of my friends. On the philosofical side, if god truly exists, he must feel really depressed, because he didn't help us so much further in this world, so he has no goal in life because humans are simply noobs compared to him. Thanks, 3kliksphilip, you have solved a mystery AND given us food for thought.
