I have the 27 Ton Champion. It has plenty of power for what I need. I have to run it out of gas between uses because it seems to foul the carb and I have to clean it. I like it a lot!

Bought my Champion 27 ton splitter after months of research. I purchased mine from Home Depot unassembled still in the crate. I did so because the only common negative comments that I found had to do with poor assembly and assembly mistakes made at the store. I took my time and assembled it by myself after watching Planet Mojo on KZbin assemble his unit. Easy enough. Best money I’ve spent in a long time. I love it. I split wood for myself, nothing commercial. Lots of pecan wood, different oak woods, nothing stops it. The option of vertical or horizontal splitting is an answered prayer. The motor unit is outstanding. The hydraulic system is a beast.

@@rogerknight2267 seriously! I do the same with mine as far as just splitting wood for personal use getting ready for the winter time and this thing is just a beast! Definitely well spent

@rogerknight2267 Hey Roger. I'm thinking about getting this log splitter. So there's an option to get it pre-assembled? Does that cost extra? If I get it unassembled, how does it come? In a crate on a pallet? Will it fit in the back of F150 truckbed, or will I need to take a trailer to the store to get it? Please advise. Thanks
@rogerknight226728 күн бұрын
@@dirktoyke6611 Home Depot had a few preassembled units on their lot, but my research revealed that some folks found assembly problems with the preassembled units; missing o rings, hoses hooked up wrong, that sort of thing. So I took the advice of others and requested a unit still in the crate, and they happened to have a couple. It comes well packaged in a well made wooden crate. They loaded it with a fork lift into the back of my Toyota Tacoma. Perfect fit. It weighs approximately 450, so it should not be a problem for your truck. No trailer required. I assembled it piece by piece straight out of the back of the truck. No need to unload the crate. Look up Planet Mojo. He’s got a step by step assembly process on KZbin. It was very easy. Slow and easy is the rule. I used the crate to build a nice table to sit over the motor unit to protect it from stray splits, as well as create additional work space. Hope this helps!!

@@dirktoyke6611 watch what your getting. The newest model is different (better) then the older ones. If you've been watching a lot of these videos, you'll see the differences. Also, putting it together is no big deal. Just need a friend for the main beam, unless your Arnold.

I've done alot of reasearch for over a year, finally bought this exact one yesterday with a 15% off coupon and 1 year interest free if I used my card. Was expecting to get bombarded now with videos of people that hate it, thats my luck. Glad to see its working great for you. I split about 10 logs yesterday in less than 5 minutes, my girlfriend said I had a big ol grin on my face the whole time 😂

We are looking at purchasing one. Thanks for a great review. We have a 3500 Champion Generator that is awesome too. So I'm not surprised to hear good reviews on this product as well.

Any small leaks in the hydraulics? I have the 25 ton version and have a small leaks in a couple of spots near the forward/back handle.

I cannot imagine splitting all the logs you have manually. Money well spent on the log splitter. Very nice.

When I was younger, I definitely spent my fair share of summers, splitting wood by hand, but then again, even though I hated it at the time I can look back and say that I’m glad I got that time to learn. Afford the opportunity to spend a lot of time with myself and thinking about where I wanted to be in my life. Hope you’re doing good my friend. Many blessings.

I've got that same model on my second season.You called it right, it's a beast. It split 4ft fir rounds like it was made for it. Just got a load of white oak and I have no doubt that I'll be the only thing slowin the process down at 70 and about 140lbs. I have that exact same hand truck too. I love it. Take care.

Nice splitter!! We got a cheap 12ton years ago and its still kickin and splits some pretty gnarly fir and pine. Id love to upgrade to something like that though!

New to wood splitting, why can’t you burn cedar in a wood burning fire place? Thanks.
@foxhollerhomestead19 күн бұрын
@@2agunner932 you definitely can, especially when it concerns, kindling and starting a fire as cedar dries very well! There are a few downsides to burning only cedar. - It is not a dense wood so it does not burn very hot, or efficiently. - Being that it is not dense, it will not leave decent coals and turns to fluffy ash a lot faster. - cedar creates more creosote in your chimney then other Logs do. So again, it’s a great starter as kindling, but you don’t want to solely burn cedar
