Love this reel. I think it's not a battery but a capacitor inside.
@BFSFISHINGCHANNELАй бұрын
Hey Antin! Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts! As for the capacitor idea it’s def possible but I’m not sure if a capacitor would allow for the reel to have a “memory” of the mode it is in? I dunno enough about IC to really know but my gut says a battery is probably what it is? What do you think? Cheers my friend!
@RonMTubeАй бұрын
@@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL placed an order with Dankung but don't have the reel yet. Just spitballing but I always assumed DC reels get their electricity from the cast, acting as a generator. A capacitor may be all the reel needs to keep some voltage and store memory. It it's a battery, I sure hope it's replaceable.
@BFSFISHINGCHANNELАй бұрын
@RonMTube hey ron! I’m not an expert with electronics but I wonder how long a capacitor can store a charge? You are correct that DC and actually mag brakes reels generate an electrical charge due to lenzs law. If a capacitor works and is installed in the reel then that would likely be a superior choice over a battery. Cheers my friend!

@@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL I fish at my local lake. I am targeting bluegills, crappies, trout, and bass. Lures i will throw are 1/8 oz kastmaster and 1/16 to 1/32 softplastics jigs. I prefer rod length at 6'6. Which $100 rod do you think would be best for that?
@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL22 сағат бұрын
@walden6272 hey Walden! While it’s not quite 6’6” I would highly recommend the purelure zero 632LC. It is a L power rating so it might make some of the smaller fish you’re after feel overpowered but it’ll def be able to handle those bigger fish you get into and it’s a very sensitive rod. It has a stiff solid tip and can handle what you’re looking to do with it. I’ve cast up to 15g lures with the rod and the SF MIIEC exa. Hope that helps! Cheers my friend!

@@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL Forgot to mention, I prefer 1 piece rods. But I'll check it out. I used to own a Purelure Fiamma ML rod, it was light and very sensitive. But 6 months into it, it broke at the handle, which was so strange. I thought the handle part would be the strongest. The rod blank itself was very durable, I couldn't break it when I tried to after the handle broke. I did send a picture of the broken handle to Purelure and told them please make your handle stronger. Hopefully they have.
@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL21 сағат бұрын
@ hey Walden! Hmm… I don’t think you’re going to find any 1 piece rods at the $100 price mark. You’d likely have to jump to the $250-300 range =\. It’s very odd that your handle broke but for the fish you’re targeting I don’t see that happening. I’m not too familiar with the fiamma line as I don’t own many ML power rods. Cheers my friend!

On a side note, where did you pick up those fishing gloves?
@BFSFISHINGCHANNELАй бұрын
Hey Dan! That’s unfortunate to hear about not getting to use it soon… altho that’s a steal of a price! The gloves are the Simms Solarflex Half finger gloves. They’re $39.95 usd and are palm less gloves which imho is a nice thing to have for sensitivity and what not. I’ve been using them for maybe half a year now and they’ve been really great. They can be a tiny bit of a pain when you’re doing things like picking birdsnests and what not but it’s a small price to pay for sun protection and I just remove one when it’s getting in the way. Cheers my friend!

I bought this reel and am considering both rods you've shown in this video. What's the difference between the two? Which is the nicer rod? Is there another rod for bass (5-12g range) you would choose?
@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL29 күн бұрын
@@GrnBltSniper hey grnblt! I actually was just using the 632 zero yesterday and I gotta say that it was casting a 10g soft plastic craw lure just fine with the EXA reel. Handled a 2lb 15” bass without any issues as well. I really like both rods but I’d say that the zero has a better length to guide count ratio imho. The difference between the two rods is that the zero is more of a L rod and the Cedan rods are closer to a L/M power rating. The difference is subtle but it is there. I’d say that both rods should be able to handle your lure weights easily. Hope that helps and cheers my friend!

Still undecided on the choice between the Aldebaran, FF01 and this one now, I'm very convinced by this reel, however I'll most likely be casting 2-4 gram trout baits at significant distances, would it cast them well compared to the Soloking Acura with the upgraded bearings you recommended?
@BFSFISHINGCHANNELАй бұрын
@@magnusvanloosdrecht2473 hey Magnus! What kind of lures will you be casting mainly? In my experience, this reel really excels at casting aerodynamic, small, dense lures like spoons. It does ok with soft plastic lures but it seems to really shine with the aerodynamic dense lures. I’ve been able to cast a 5g mini jigpara/spoon lure almost a full 50m with this reel. The FF01 will excel more at weights below 1g and is definitely a more premium feeling reel but this is a bit more versatile I think. The Aldebaran would be the least versatile reel of your three options. The Soloking Acura does better 2g+ but I think the cormorant and exa will outcast it. Hope that helps! Cheers my friend!

@@magnusvanloosdrecht2473 hey Magnus! Hm yea it’ll have to depend on how aerodynamic those lures are and how they tumble through the air. Hey RPL! Yep! I’ve been using the reel quite often and it still feels smooth and still casts quite well. I would say maybe the only “weak” point I’ve found is the drag clicker not being loud enough. I’ve found an aftermarket kit for that though and plan to do an install. Cheers my friend!

@rpl4eva29 hey RPL! It will totally handle those lure weights like a champ! If you’re casting smaller dense lures, like spoons or jigheads, it will absolutely make them fly but it also does ok with soft plastic lures. It’s hard to report on the absolute long term durability of the electronics as no one has had one long enough to test that but I think it will be ok. Hope that helps! Cheers my friend!

Hey man, Could I ask what your general take on Purelure rods is? Broke my backup spinning rod tip the other day and im meaning to give Purelure Torrent 8 foot medium/light + fast a go, its about 100 US shipped. From what I gather Purelure should be pretty good fit and finish;, 100 dollars is sort of above what I feel confident paying for a chinese rod.... but its both stunning looking and seems like quality materials. Wouldnt surprise me at all if Purelure uses the same OEM products as big brands, reviews on ali express seem to back it up as well
@BFSFISHINGCHANNELАй бұрын
@@grantmacdonald6109 hey Grant! I would say that your assessment is correct. Purelure generally makes good quality products at a good price. In the realm of CDM tackle they are on the upper end of the price spectrum but they do have some areas they need to improve upon and that you need to be aware of. Their blanks, imho, are quite well designed but they often have a low guide count and so you get a lot of blank touch with your line. You can find certain lengths that have a better ratio of guide count to length though on most rods. Ooc what kind of rod are you looking for? Cheers my friend!
