Once you get an old tractor rejuvenated from whatever reason caused it to originally get parked, they can be fantastic. I'd just buy a set or two of those under-$20 LED lights to hang on that tractor until you get to the big project. I like how the old AC-WDs had lights back of the engine so if there is a problem at night you have light to see the engine -- and most important they are tucked away from all the brush damage that happens with front mounted or fender mounted lights. You're in the brush when brush hogging.

Yeah I agree with you totally. Buying a new tractor is great in some cases but I just like older machinery and no $300 monthly payments. I have been rebuilding a 1979 John Deere 850 which is not but 25HP but it will serve my needs.

New tractors don't work thanks to electronics, greed and emissions BS.

I think there is a "Sweet spot" with tractors depending on what you want. $10k - and not younger than year 2000. Some sweet machines out there with modern conviences, Cabs, not too old and plenty of life. Old iron is great, but spending 120hrs researching, getting parts and actually tearing down, cleaning rebuilding, welding, sandblasting and re-painting, bedding in... nah. I've got 1998 Agrotron 85 - great Deutz Engine - keep it going - nice Cab and not too much electronics or computers.
